Mazda CX9 owners have reported 1 problem related to brake antilock wheel speed sensor (under the service brakes category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
On 8/29/14, my car would not stop and continued to move when I pressed on the brakes to stop at a traffic light, almost hit the car in front of me. Scary! again at the next stop sign, the car continued without stopping when I pressed on the brakes. Mazda told me that my car is out of warranty so I went to a mechanic who replaced a defective master cylinder. A week later, my car stalled twice when I was stopped at a red light. Then the brakes "hissed" when I pressed on them. The brake pedal was very hard to press and the car would continue to coast even when the brakes were pressed. Scary for my children! the same mechanic called Mazda, and was informed that there is an extended warranty on a brake booster. I did not receive any such notice from Mazda. Mazda replaced the brake booster and brake switch today for free. Also note, the day I bought this car, brand new on Dec 2, 2011, I drove on the turnpike and realized the transmission was slipping. I took it back to Mazda and they replaced a defective turbine speed sensor on my car. Enough!.
