While traveling @ about 15 mph made a right turn up a one way street, car made a loud thump sound and lurched forward. At which point the car stopped and I was not able to move back or forward. Exited vehicle to find driver side wheel broke off and moved forward in the wheel well. Mazda roadside was called and flatbed service arranged. Car is well maintained and only has 74,000 miles. Mazda needs to act quickly on this recall issue because some one is going to get seriously injured or kiilled (driving at highway speeds).

When driving under 20 mph entering into our neighborhood, heard a loud "pop" - then the front left tire suspension 'popped off' the tire, causing the car to lose control and hit the curb with the right tire. It appears that the suspension just "popped off" the joint causing the tire to become 'dislodged' from the vehicle - and sent the car into the curb - see pictures. No police report was taken as it did not involve personal injury nor another vehicle. Upon investigation on the web, it appears that NHTSA has an open investigation into similar problems with 2007/2008 Mazda cx-9s (see action number: pe15022) - which is why I am writing to you now.

Mazda recall state of NJ. The car was in motion when the tire came loose. My husband hit a small pothole. Luckily we were able to get the car on the side of ride. Due to the recall we were not able to put the claim through our insurance and Mazda is telling me I won't get a refund for the work done because it took so long to be repaired. Unfortunately, we do not recall receiving anything about the recall. After reading the recall basically what it said could happen did and the car needed repairs. I attached the invoice and recall from Mazda's website.

The vehicle started to have problems with the car shaking around 50mph. So we planned to have it looked at since we heard that this particular model has some known issues that may become severe. During the drive to the car shop (literally 1 mile from home) the axle/bearing or front suspension separated from the car!!! the front left wheel and joints separated from the car; the wheel looks like it was breaking off! we were driving around 15mph! no one was hurt and thank goodness it was around 11am so there was no traffic around to make things worse. The car had to be towed to the car shop which was only feet away from the scene, which was an added charge! *photos of incident are also available.

Mazda recall 8515g ( NHTSA campaign no 15v451) I called Mazda motor corporation in January 2016 regarding the above recall. I was told that if I was having a problem with the recall parts in question to take the vehicle to the nearest dealership for inspection and possible repair. I inquire as to why my vehicle was not called in for the recall repair and to my amazement I was told that they did not have enough parts to fix this problem and as soon as they become available they would be notifying customers to bring their vehicles in for repair. Recall, it has been 7 to 8 months since the NHTSA put this recall out and I have not received any correspondence from Mazda regarding the repair of my vehicle. The last correspondence was a notification letter dated September 2015 regarding the recall. I feel this is nothing more than posturing on Mazda's part. How long do you have to wait before someone gets killed !! please look into this matter someone's life could be at stake here. Thank you for your possible action in this matter.

Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Mazda cx-9. The contact stated that while driving approximately 62 mph, the vehicle veered to the left and right independently. The failure also occurred while driving at lower speeds. The failure became progressively worse. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed that the front driver's and passenger's side lower balls joints needed to be replaced. In addition, both front passenger and driver side wheel bearers required replacement. The failure caused severe damage to both front tires and two set of tires were replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,100. Djr.
While driving vehicle on road at approximatley 20 mph the wheel detached from the axle on the front passenger side of the vehicle resulting in damage to the vehicle.
I was pulling into a driveway and my Mazda cx 9 came to a sudden stop. When I got out of the car I realized that the suspension broke and the front drivers side wheel was no longer attached to the bearing. The car was not drivable and had to be towed.
Took my car to dealer 2-3 times for the brakes, way before my warranty was any where near expiring, because I kept hearing a grinding sound. They kept telling me nothing was wrong, that my brakes had some gravel on them and they just cleaned them. I don't travel on dirt roads or anything, city roads/highways. No out of town travel at all, actual only in town travel, home/work. My 2nd concern is, while driving sometimes my speed seems to shift, as if the gears are shifting. 3rd concern is, I received a recall notice, don't recall what it was about but I took it to the dealership and I was told they done that work last time I came in but I don't believe it was done, since they haven't been honest with me before. They didn't even look at the letter. If I recall correctly brake complaints/ service started 2011 or 2012 to 2014. . . .
The contact owned a 2008 Mazda cx-9. While driving at various speeds, the contact lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle jumped a curb and struck a tree. Since the first day I had the new car it has pulled to the left, it has been in the shop 4 times to be fixed, each time I get the car back with the same pulling problem, on the final time it was in they tried to fix it 3 times unsuccessfully, they finally called me and told me there was nothing else they could do. Lemon Mazda Cx9 is a lemon.
From day 1 the car has been road-crazy. . . You have to continually correct to left and right. . . Dealership says from "crown in the road". . . . Have had it re-aligned numerous times. . Has 25k now and front tires are nearly worn out. . . Has 20" wheels (which they no longer offer as option).
