Air Bag Problems of Mazda MAZDA3 - part 2

My car started to show a warning on the dashboard that the airbag system is malfunctioning. The alarm would come on for a few seconds, then turn off, then repeat like that multiple times every drive. At the time it started, my car had less than 500 miles on it, and it continued after that until I got it fixed. I took it to the Mazda dealership where I bought it, and they said it was a short circuit to the driver's side airbags. They told me that could have caused the airbags to deploy prematurely or not at all in an accident. I am also a part of a Mazda 3 community and am active on the forums, and in the last month I have seen at least 30-40 other 2021 Mazda 3 owners also report the same exact error code, with the same short circuit issue being cited as the problem by the dealership. Parts are on backorder for weeks for most of these owners, and some of them were told by the dealership to keep their car while they waited for the part, whereas my own dealership told me it was unsafe to drive the car and to have it towed to the dealership instead.

The airbag light on dash comes on and goes off randomly then going on for 6 months. Obviously there's an open circuit in system that others have as well see a lot of others on here with the same problem over 100,000 miles.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The contact called the number to the local dealer and the manufacturer but was unable to schedule an appointment for the recall repair. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair and had made it very difficult to resolve the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. My 2015 Mazda3 was in a collision on 09/08/2021 and my vehicle was totaled. None of my airbags deployed . Fortunately I only sustained neck and back injuries. I believe that I would have avoided these injuries if my airbags deployed properly. Has anyone else reported a problem with airbags on the 2015 Mazda3? if there is a problem with the airbag then other owners need to be notified of this safety issue.

This vehicle has one unrepaired recall. When I tried to make an appointment with the Mazda dealer to correct it, no recall is found after giving my VIN number. Is there any other way to have them repair it?.

My 2006 Mazda was in a serious accident last month and my air bag did not inflate properly along with the warning logo a few days before the accident. My car was picked up and released to geico yesterday for inspection from their at fault driver totalling my vehicle. It was a head on collision so the air bag is a big factor in a serious wreck. It was confirmed to have an active recall. The warning logo appeared on my dash right before the accident that caused a broken and dislocated hip resulting into two surgeries and a long recovery period.

I believe I still have a takata air bag installed in my car. When there was an original question, Mazda only inspected the airbag. Is it ok and safe for me to continue to have the takata air bag or should it be replaced?.

The vehicle was in motion, going west, another vehicle in motion hit me, by the time it was over I was facing east and went up a curb and into a wall of a homeowners yard.

The airbag safety light came on and will not turn off. The dealer said it would cost 600. 00 to get it fixed. It only came on after the dealer replaced part of the seat arm on another recall.

Driving into a ramp and the passenger air bag deployed. I then slipped off the curve the external of the car is not damaged and I'm not hurt.

Suddenly there was a error saying airbag system has malfunctioned in the middle of my commute. And it has been reoccurring. And I haven't heard a peep from the dealer.

I had just got my grandson and was traveling down i75 in GA I was going to merge into the next lane from the fast lane, I looked in my rear view mirror and side mirror and then back in front, I had plenty of time and room, as I started to merge it was like I could hardly turn the wheel and like I was breaking instead of spending up to get into the other lane, it happened so fast I had no idea what had taken place because I never should have hit the car, SUV. In front of me, I hit him with my left front headlight, but if my car had been running as it should have I would have been out of the lane and passing him I was stunned, and I didn't know anything about any of the recalls on my car, and I went to the dealer where I brought it, new from time to time and had work done, maintenance and was never told but I sure knew when my transmission was going out and they said I was passed warranty on it so I ordered a new one and had them install it but never told anything about the 2 recalls and when I was in the collision I told my friend who came to get me something was wrong with my car, it didn't want to turn and it slowed down without me touching the brakes. I guess that's what saved our lives but if it had not happened I would never have had the wreck my car was totaled, I was not hurt not bad just bruised by the airbag and my grandson had seatbelt marks on his neck and waist. Of course I took pictures and I will up load them for you.

Got alert regarding air bags while driving. Also rear mirror fell off the plastic casing while driving on freeway. They both happened at different instances. But both happened when I was driving freeway and scared me. Took into Mazda dealer and they said that both were known issue and airbag issue is unannounced recall.

"air bag system malfunction, have the vehicle inspected" new vehicle 4/14/2019! once while turning in parking lot on 4/17@151mi, two other times 30-35mph on 4/25@458mi and 4/29@551mi on odometer. On all occasions 2+hrs of drive time there were 4-6 stops. At other times under an hr with 1 stop no problem. I had no passangers so no other seat belts were in use when I got the warning. But, on 2 other occasions when I had a front seat passanger wearing their seatbelt doing the above no warning at all.

Letter expressing concerns regarding Mazda's recall for takata air bags. The consumer was informed the vehicle was not apart of the recall.

Takata recall , dashboard starting to meltdown really bad. I seen alot of people got same problem. The vehicle is my commuter over time it starts to get sticky fibers get stuck on it needs to recalled ASAP for the timing of the air bag deployment it's really unsafe please help . The headlights assembly contains alot of moister after a car wash. Moisture can cause an electrical problem and burn the computer itself.

#1 air bag warning dash light remains illuminated and has stayed illuminated for approximately 1 1/2+ years. There is no Mazda dealership in my area and I initially believed it was my responsibility to replace or repair at my expense due to the vehicle's age. #2 brakes: vehicle was recently serviced and comprehensive safety inspected on 6 Nov 2018. I asked the shop to check the brake pedal for abnormal pressure. I felt the brake pedal was not maintaining a firm pedal push while driving, but at first felt firm then softened almost all the way to the floor board. I returned to the auto service to point this out and the representative responded no evidence of brake fluid leaking out and earlier while they drove it around their facility it felt fine, therefore it was ok to drive like this. Today is 3 December and it is still a mushy brake.

Airbags: did not deploy upon impact of a streetlamp pole on the front driverside quarter. Front farring damaged and replaced. I was turning left, it was raining, the glare of the light blinded me enough to go up on the curb and impact the streetlamp pole. I replaced the farring and had my Mazda3 fully aligned. Electrical: purchased vehicle in October 2016. Replaced battery 4 times, alternator 3 times since purchase. Seat heaters haven't worked ever. Driverside seat started wiggling after contact with streetlamp pole.

My daughter was driving on city street when she was involved in an accident back in October 2018 were she flipped into a stream. She escaped with bruises and cuts, I am very thankful that nothing worse happen to her. When the wrecker was pulling her car out, I noticed that the roof of the car was crushed in as well as the front and back of the vehicle. The Mazda 3 that we purchased for our daughter was totaled but no airbags ever came out. The cop, ems worker, and I was wondering why none of the airbags deployed. I kept checking to see if there was a recall on her car but the website keeps saying 0. I really think this should be investigated promptly!.

Dash lit up with message airbag is off. Called my dealer in st apeaters and told can't check unless it is on and would be a service cost. Was driving about 40 miles an hour. On 2 way street. , driving in straight at the time.

The contact stated while her son was driving approximately 70 mph and crashed into another vehicle towing a trialer, which filled the vehicle upside down and dragged the vehicle for unknown miles. The contact stated her son was had his hand outside of the vehile and lost 4 fingers on his left hand and had a brain bleed and seek medical attention for his injuries. A police report was filed. The insurance deemed the vehicle loss. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired as of yet. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. Takata recall is there a recall on my vehicle. The local dealer said there is not. Don't know how he could know that as he did not ask for the VIN. So far there have not been any airbag problems but I have not had an accident. If you call, you must include before the phone number. If you don't, my phone may say the phone is disconnected. Too many sales calls.

Takata recall: once I got the airbag of my Mazda3 is not safe, it worries me a lot. I hope the recall could be coming soon and I prefer to staying in a safe zone. Thanks!.

Takata recall; I have requested this recall be honored and was just told by the local Mazda dealer there is nothing they can do about it and there are no parts available to replace the defective and potentially deadly airbag. I have been told this from the beginning of the recall concern. What can I do if anything to resolve this issue?.

Takata recall I am trying to see if my 2012 Mazda 3 hatchback is part of the takata airbag recall. So far all I have received is a notice that I may be eligible to take part in a class action suit in florida.

Got involved in a fender bender at 50 mph and air bags never went off. The body of the car also came apart so quickly I ended up totaling the entire vehicle.

No accidents recalls that have not been fixed. Dealer can't get parts.
