For these incidents there was friends who was in my vehicle during and even witness these incidents happen while in the vehicle. On the way to work I tried to downshift on the sport mode like I usually do. But it continued to stay in 5, then all of sudden it jumped to 3 as I slow down a bit then all of sudden to 1 which made the car jerk a bit both times due to gear drop and cause the car to rev at a higher rpm. Which almost cost an accident. This is happening quite often so I had to switch to normal drive mode( d) on another occasion the abs, traction control light would turn on after making a quick left or right turn but this happen only a few time, the only way to turn the lights off was to park somewhere safe and turn the car off and back on to remove the lights. Now it's summer time an third problem has appear, for some random reason air conditioning system is going crazy and blowing hot air instead of cold air in the crazy texas summer heat, what's even more crazy is driver side blow extremely hot air and passenger side blow hot air but at a lower degrees. Sometime even smelling a smoky burning plastic smell. I find it extremely unsafe for a car to have problems like shifting and causing the car to lag in shifting gear properly which cause to jerk in moving traffic which can cause a accident. To add even abs and traction control might have issues which scares me even more. Now even hot air with maybe a burning plastic smell. Car has always been check properly but these driving with these unsafe issues can cause accidents and even worst death if not check properly. Most important feature in a car is it's ability to accelerate and stop properly, without those, it becomes a dangerous object on the road.

The car had a catastrophic electrical failure, Mazda is unable to diagnose the cause. I have asked Mazda and the dealer by phone, email, and postal mail what I should do if this occurs on the highway. I have gotten no response from Mazda. I am concerned that this is a safety issue. While driving the car on a city street, during the day of 8/11/16,all the indicator lights flashed on and the air conditioner stopped. The engine was still running. I pulled in to a parking lot and turned off the engine. I tried to start it again (push button) and nothing happened; no lights, no sounds. I waited several minutes and tried to start the car again. This time it started. I turned it off and tried to start it again, nothing happened. I called Mazda roadside assistance and had the car towed to a dealer. On 8/20/16 the dealer told me they were unable to diagnose the problem. It seemed that more than 60 error codes had gone on a once, but they could not find a cause. I have emailed and written to Mazda asking if it is safe to drive the car on the highway, asking if it were to happen again would the and what I should do if it happens. More than a month has passed and I have had no response from Mazda.

The dashboard in my 2010 Mazda 3 is melting making it look as if a sticky substance is covering it. On touch, fingers stick to the dashboard. The car remains in a covered parking garage at all times, so it is not being exposed to extreme heat conditions. The only exposure to the sun is while driving and during that time, the car's air conditioning is on. The sticky substance causes a glare on the windshield, which in florida is a major safety concern. It seems a very cheap and defective material has been used in the manufacturing of the dashboard.
Was driving on the street and all of the sudden white smoke started to come out of the engine that smelled like rubber. The air conditioner was also making a loud noise. I pulled over and shut everything off. Called the dealer who walked me through and we verified it was the air conditioner clutch that broke off. No warning lights on the dash or anything. Ac is now unusable until its fixed. Glad it didn't catch on fire, we pulled over immediately when it happened. Now I have to get it fixed, $1200+.

1. Start car, turn on air conditioner
2. Turning on the air conditioner causes the engine to become unusually sluggish and shut off. I feel that if not replaced could cause a crash as the car is unusually sluggish and the motor randomly shuts off. 3. The failure has not been corrected, Mazda stated it was that I needed a new air compressor and a/c clutch, although I think that should not be needed on a 3 year old car. It is also not warranty covered and cost just over $700. 00 to fix. . .

First the air conditioner flickers on and off on settings 1, 2 and 3. So it is constantly switching off. Second the cd player will not accept or play cds, it just says check disc and ejects the disc. The clock changes time occasionally too.
Takata inflators air condition never worked well. Replaced all parts of air, each year air stops blowing cool or cold air. Spent thousands of dollars.
