My in car monitor is cracking at the screen and will not turn on. It has been this way for several months. The dealership told me it would cost thousands. I did nothing to the system it just does not work. This is a big problem. I see there are recalls for canada vehicles with the same problem but my VIN is not included.

3 Carrier/rack problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 11/07/2020

I've bought this vehicle from a dealership so it's been having this. I've also seen that there has been recalls for this issue as well. The dash board above the speedometer is extremely sticky. A large portion of it. And more to the right, above the glove box, it's cracked. I'm assuming it has do something with the sun.

4 Carrier/rack problem of the 2016 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 02/16/2020

Sunroof glass shattered outward without any cause or warning. The sunroof was closed at the time and there were no cracks, no breaks, no leaks, no weaknesses identified. When it shattered, I was driving down interstate 25 at approximately 78 mph. Tires are properly inflated.

5 Carrier/rack problem of the 2014 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 08/07/2019

The infotainment screen has spider cracks in 2 corners that are starting from the sealed inside of screen. It is spreading and according to the internet blogs happening to other Mazda's. See attached photos. The screen has not been damaged and most of the changes happen when I use the command knob and not touching the screen.

6 Carrier/rack problem of the 2014 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 07/22/2019

The cable controlling the air blower from cold to warm will disconnect. This has happened at stationary and in motion. The bracket controlling connecting the arm moving the blower has broken.

7 Carrier/rack problem of the 2011 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 12/14/2018

We were riding down the road and all of a sudden it sounded like a machine gun was going threw my speakers and the radio control would not control the load ness of it. We had to ride over 3 miles to the exit and get out when I turned the car off it stopped. Then it would make a awful crackling noise when the key wasn't even in the ignition. That went on for a couple of weeks now the radio doesn't work at all and it still crackles from time to time. I looked online and apparently a lot of people have been having the same issue and they said that the bose amplifier is going out making that noise. I've contacted bose waiting for a response. I'm just glad I wasn't in the car alone when it happened because we were on the interstate and it scared the crap out of us!.

8 Carrier/rack problem of the 2014 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 04/10/2017

I have 2 issues. The most dangerous one is the entertainment system. It jumps around from phone to radio to contacts to music and randomly makes calls, plays the radio, and cannot be controlled. It is very dangerous as it is distracting to driver. When it make calls it cannot be disconnected and whichever screen is displayed it acts as if someone is constantly making contact with the system. Radio stations change and phone calls are made the second problem is that half of the screen is cracked making it impossible to see anything on it. Both of these problems have been recognized by Mazda but did not repair it when I took it in. They want to change the screen but I'm not sure that is the problem with the uncontrolled system. This happens when the temperature is warm outside. I have read many of the exact same complaints for both of these issues. These issues are mostly when I am stopped but continues when I am moving. Since Mazda does recognize these problems and have directions for correcting them, they still want me to pay for a new screen and system.

9 Carrier/rack problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 08/01/2016

My drivers side seat bracket has broken causing the seat to rock slightly. Also, the dashboard appears to be melting with a shiny sticky spot.

10 Carrier/rack problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 04/19/2016

Driver's side window has fallen off track and does not close as it should. Further, when you remove your finger from the automatic "up" button, the window will automatically roll down after releasing the button (as if it has a life of it's own). This is a window motor or electrical problem. This can happen when the vehicle is moving or when it is stationary . . . City or highway.

11 Carrier/rack problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 08/26/2015

Dashboard started to melt. The panel is all sticky, including a/c vents which also started to crack. Will take the car to dealer to fix/suggest a solution. Touching the shinny parts with fingers will turn fingers black, sticky and is also hard to clean. Trying to clean dash makes things worst.

12 Carrier/rack problem of the 2008 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 05/30/2015

When I attempted to remove valve stem cover the valve stem cracked and came apart. I had to have the complete tpms valve replaced. I then noticed that the other valve stems looked in the same condition. The Mazda dealer said that this was just aging and that the rest were o. K. I am not sure if they are. I said that the stems should not crack just by removing the cover.

13 Carrier/rack problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

The dashboard is cracking on the passenger side and melting on the drivers side.

14 Carrier/rack problem of the 2015 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 01/02/2015

When the car is getting wet and running in a humps we always heard a squeaking or cracking sounds on the front wheel, likely its in front shock, I guess.

15 Carrier/rack problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 12/27/2014

There is a hairline crack in my 2010 Mazda 3 dashboard. It is directly over the passenger side airbag and I feel this is a safety issue. I live in buffalo and the crack is worse in the winter. I spoke with Mazda and said this would be expensive to repair, however, I have checked online and many other drivers of Mazda's have had this issue. I would like to get this fixed, however, I am a graduate student and cannot afford this. I would like to make sure this is only cosmetic and not a safety concern.

16 Carrier/rack problem of the 2008 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 12/14/2014

Check engine light came on 12/13/14, car wouldn't start 12/14/14, had towed to repair shop 12/15/14 and was told engine was flooded because the car couldn't meter air correctly and over fueled the car. Spark plugs, air filter and throttle body were all gummed up and dirty due to this. Repair shop checked the technical service bulletin relating to the check engine light and found that this is a a known issue. They had to modify a bracket and splice in new wire where it was rubbed through because of this defect. If this is truly a common defect Mazda should issue a recall on it and reimburse owners who have already had to have it fixed.

17 Carrier/rack problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 04/02/2014

I have a 2010 Mazda 3, bought brand new, off the lot in 2010 and the dashboard is melting, causing a severe glare on the windshield. This is causing me a driving hazard as the glare makes it hard to see! the dash material is also cracking and melting around the ac vents.

18 Carrier/rack problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 08/14/2013

Dashboard is melting, sticky and cracking. While driving during the day when the sun is out, it creates a glare right at eye level causing unsafe visibility issues. It is also a sticky mess, which causes dust, dead bugs and hair to stick to my dashboard.

19 Carrier/rack problem of the 2009 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 08/14/2013

Two of the tpms (tire pressure monitoring s___?) sensors were cracked and replaced at a discounted cost to me of $325. The car is only 4 years old with under 52,000 miles and two of them crack at the same time (!). The Mazda dealer said that they get a number of these problems and that they think it is due to poor quality metal being used. This is clearly a safety issue since they crack too early in the life of the vehicle and the customer has no way of determining this or even knowing how or where to look. I am now very nervous about the remaining two.

20 Carrier/rack problem of the 2009 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 06/26/2013

Three out of four tire pressure monitors have failed causing tire deflation. The first two times this was discovered in my driveway. Upon trying to re-inflate the low tires I found that the tire pressure monitors just fell away into the interior of the tire. My tire dealer was able to reinstall the monitors(only to have them fail again later) my complaint stems from the incident (after I have stewed about it for a while) that happened on 6-26-2013. My wife, with daughter, had a blowout on interstate 75 at rush hour in a driving rain storm. Of course it was a harrowing experience getting the vehicle to the shoulder. Luckily a less experienced driver was not at the wheel. When I arrived to change the tire I decided to try and re-inflate it first to try and get to a safer location. Once again the tire pressure monitor fell to the interior of the tire!!! my tire dealer (tire discounters walton ky) told me that the threads on the stem that holds the monitor to the wheel corrodes and eventually cracks the nut holding the monitor. What a piece of junk. I still have the old monitors and indeed the corrosion looks like something that comes from a dissimilar metal on metal contact. This is a major safety concern in my opinion and I should have complained as soon as I could but I really think that nothing will come of it. I almost paid for new monitors(decided to just replace with plain stems on my own as I do not trust ,nor do I want to finance Mazda any further), I lost a tire due to the highway incident and I found out that this is no surprise to the tire store.

21 Carrier/rack problem of the 2010 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 04/26/2013

Checking tire pressure in driveway and tpms sensor - tire valve cracked and failed in 3 of 4 tires/wheels. Two today, and the first approx. 3 months ago. Imagine what could happen if one of these valves failed while driving down the highway.

22 Carrier/rack problem of the 2009 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 02/16/2013

The tire pressure monitoring sensor mounted in the rim failed and the tire lossed air pressure while traveling on an interstate highway until it was flat and the spare tire needed to be mounted. The flat tire was later taken to a tire service dealer who determined that the flat was caused by corrosion of the threaded aluminum stem on the tpms causing the plastic retaining nut to crack and fall off resulting in a leak around the rim and stem. The corrosion was so severe that the tpms could not be used, and a rubber valve stem inserted. The corrosion was not obvious as the owner of the vehicle routinely inflates the tires, the nut concealed the corrosion. Corrosion this severe was not anticipated at 25k miles of driving, the tires were not yet worn to the point of requiring replacement. The design and application of the tpms used for this vehicle is dangerous as rapid deflation of the tire could have resulted, the outward appearance of the valve stem does not provide any indication of pending catastrophic failure, the exposure of the tire and valve stem to DE-icing materials in the northeastern USA is a normal environmental exposure that would warrant significantly better corrosion protection than the oem tpms that is installed provides. A full recall and replacement of the tpms's installed in this make, model and year needs to be made. This type of failure has never been experienced by the owner when rubber valve stems were used in the past, it is unfortunate that a new safety device - tpms - presents a higher risk for catastrophic rapid deflation of a tire at highway speeds than would ever be expected.

23 Carrier/rack problem of the 2004 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 08/29/2011

2004 Mazda 3. Purchased car used in March 2007. Per owner service records, motor mount #3 failed and in 11/2006, per service bulletin, and warranty, local dealer performed partial engine replacement, including rubber on mount #3. 24 Carrier/rack problem of the 2006 Mazda MAZDA3

Failure Date: 02/11/2010

I own a Mazda3 2006. The following are issues that have occured since I've owned the vehicle and I wanted everybody to be aware of them: 1) the dashboard clock was incorrect. It would lose time every day and started going back in time. Was fixed under warranty. 2) the tires have had to be replaced often. Not sure why they wear out so fast, but I stopped using the goodyear tires that came with the car and go with longer lasting tires. 3) the tire pressure measurement device on the front right tire was defective. It was incorrectly telling me I had a problem. Took numerous visits to the dealersihp but was fixed under extended warranty. 4) the right engine brack under the hood was loose. They happened to find it while fixing another issue. Was never caught in that "full circle inspection" they claim they do. Again, fixed under extended warranty. 5) the temperature coolant hose was not properly working. It was not closing. This caused the "check engine" light to come on. Fixed under extended warranty. 6) the rug under the gas pedal was ripping easily and was moving under the pedal. Took to dealership and they repaired the rip. Never did get a new rug though, its a little bent but issue hadnt occured since.
