Radio and accessories do not always shut off when engine is turned off causing electrical drain on battery. Has happened many times. Dealers think it could be park switch. Any recalls on this issue?.

I bought this car for 3,000 from the owner had it for 2 months, got oil and all fluids changed. When I was leaving my house a block away it totally died on me and now it wont start at all. I am very frustrated because I dont have the money to buy abother one. Or even repair it.

The contact owns a 2018 Mazda Mazda6. The contact stated since that owning the vehicle, the contact had experienced a transmission surge on five separate occasions all without warning. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer after each failure and has had various repairs and updates performed on the vehicle; however, the failure persisted after each visit. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and was given a case number. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.

As many of us have experienced, I also have an issue with the accessory mode staying on after turning the car off. Based on my research, it appears to be the parking switch inside the shifter wears off and the car doesn't register the car is in park. Mazda should issue a recall on this, as I have experienced battery drainage and it seems to be getting worse with time. It seems to happen right around the the 50-75k mileage, just outside the warranty period. It just seems too premature and not something that happens after 100k miles. It happens when the car is stationary.

For the last year, the car alarm in my 2009 Mazda 6 has been going off sporadically by itself at all hours of the day while parked in my apartment building parking lot. The dealer diagnosed that my passenger side door actuator needed to be replaced. It was, and a few weeks later the alarm went off again at 3:30 am, waking up all of my neighbors in the process. Brought it back to the dealer and now they say it's the driver side door actuator. There are so many reports on the internet of other Mazda owners having this same issue and there is a bulletin out there for it. Why has been this not become a recall yet?.

I own a 2012 Mazda 6, VIN#1yvhz8dh1c5m14865, that I bought in 2012. For the past couple of years I've been dealing with electrical issues with this car. For a few years I was just dealing with the headlights continuously going out every 3 or 4 months. At first I was thinking the light was defective, but after some research I learned that this is a more than a common occurrence with these cars. This is the main complaint. It has been linked to the electrical system that your service department said was the issue. It also mentioned the electrical issue causing the car to suddenly shut down which is the problem I am currently having now. My car has shutdown a total of 4 times, the last time being on the interstate. This is ridiculous! this is a known problem by Mazda that has not been addressed. Are you waiting for someone to die in an accident? this needs to be fixed immediately. My daughter drives this car!.

As I put in park mode to turn off (push button) vehicle stay on accesery , radio and alarm beeping stays on and does not go off. . . I have read numerous complaints and reviews on Mazda 6 & Mazda cx5 experiencing the same problem, going back from 2012 and I just had a recall done on my calipers, and they said they replaced the door padding but nothing showed of new material. When I asked them about the start /stop problem they said they had never heard of this problem. . Today I have been doing research on this problem and read lots of this same problem. Why is it not a recall issue their has been so many complaints. . . Thank you for reading my issues.

Alarm goes on intermittently while car is parked. This started in February, 2020 and has continued to the present.

After purchasing a 2019 Mazda6 in July 2019, there have been multiple occasions in which I start the car and the display screen freezes or is black, not displaying anything. At the same time, the control buttons on the steering wheel do not work. I've also experienced a long delay in response after pressing control buttons on the steering wheel. All of these issues happen randomly and will continue while driving or stopped.

When you turn the car off the accessory stays on. In other words it doesn’t shut off all the way. That is a hazard because the battery will go dead in time. I looked on the internet and found a lot of complaints about this issue with these cars. The car has a defective shifter switch. Mazda won’t recall the part even though there have been many complaints. This is a defective part. If a part is defective they should recall the part. I don’t see why I should have to pay $400. 00 to put a $50 part in my car that is defective. My car is available for inspection upon request.

Both headlights on vehicle is not working.

This Mazda 6 model is equipped with a video display screen mounted on the dashboard that operates the radio, communication, and most importantly, the view projected by the rear view camera. Upon ignition, the screen operates for about 30 seconds and then goes dark and shuts down. The rear view safety feature is disabled thereby jeopardizing public safety. The screen shuts down whether the vehicle is moving or stationery, on the street or in the garage. I notified the Mazda customer experience center, by letter, of the problem, but got no answer.

Driving 2008 Mazda 6 when the at light came on and the automatic transmission slipped from gear reengaged very harshly into third gear. The 5 speed automatic transmission dropped 4th and 5th gear after re-engaging.

It has happened a lot. Some of the electrical systems of the car such as radio, display, etc stay on when it is turned off. I spend several minutes moving back and forth to shut it down successfully. This might cause a serious problem like battery drain on a cold day when I am in a rush to leave the car quickly.

I made a stop at a traffic light and the green light change I pressed the gas and the Mazda6 stalled and then dragged to take off which almost caused an accident.

The park position sensor doesn't work. The car doesn't recognize that the car is in park and will not turn off. This is a known issue with the Mazda 6 2014 and I do not know why there hasn't been a recall. I shouldn't have to pay to have this fixed. Started in 2019. Sometimes it takes 20 or more times to get the car to turn off by shifting in gear and back into park or starting and turning off the car. If you can't get the car turned off you cannot lock the doors and it will run the battery down. I just want this to be recalled so the dealership will repair. Thank you, this is a very frustrating situation. Literally my arm gets tired from slamming the gear shifter into park trying to get the car turned off.

Fow (forward obstruction warning) inspection required flashes on dash as if a loose connection. Only flashes for about 3 seconds then goes away. I manually turned off fow to stop the flashing. But will turn back on once I restart the car. The cruise control off/on switch seems to affect the warning flashes as well. Once the car warms up, things seem normal. During driving this effects the cruise control and system overall. Happens every time I start the car and start driving.

There is a red light indicator saying that the tires are not balanced. The light on the radio panel is on even after the car has been switched off.

After stopping, the car does not power off all the way, dashboard and radio are still on. It happens very frequently and in some cases I waste a lot of time to try this 10-20 time before it actually turns off. On some occasions, I did not have much time and I left it that way and I could not close the car and after few hours the battery drained and I could not start the car.

Fow inspection light comes on when going above 55 mph. Cruise shits off and brakes are pressed.

With no consistancey, the car would loose power. At times, I thought the car would loose full power, in the middle of my commute, I would be forced to pull over and shut the car off. Most times, the car would return to normal conditions. When I brought it in for repair, byers Mazda of columbus, told me it needed a tune-up. Once again, the car almost stalled out and I managed to coast into a parking space. Now the same dealership is informing me for the first time that the car has an I-loop system and the battery that should have lasted five years, now less than the 3 years old, needs to be replaced for over $500. 00. I bought this car used with an extended warranty and although it was my mistake, the dealership never disclosed the I-loop system and the problems that go with it. This I-loop battery will apparently last 2-3 years only and is very expensive. I guess it is legal for dealership sales reps to misrepresent the car maintenance because they say it is my responsibility to know what I purchased. I will never buy from byers auto for any model car!.

Tl the contact owns a 2012 Mazda 6. While driving approximately 45 mph, the door open icon illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road to check the doors; however, all the doors were closed. The vehicle was taken to hennessy Mazda (7261 jonesboro rd, morrow, GA 30260) to be diagnosed, but they were not able to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 96,000.

Driving on the highway as normal tail lights and dash lights cutout and off out of nowhere melting wires causing light outage.

The contact owns a 2011 Mazda 6. The contact stated the main wire harness on the driver's side burned out and the vehicle shook when being driven. The contact was concerned that the burnt wire harness could cause a fire or cause the air bags to deploy on their own. The dealer (bakersfield Mazda, 3201 cattle dr, bakersfield, CA 93313) stated that the VIN was not included in a recall. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.

Vehicle has had 3 windshield replacements in just three years of use and ownership. The windshield design seems to be extremely fragile and induces safety related sensor function anomalies. My grand touring model is also equipped with a bose speaker system which causes popping from a faulty speaker. This seems to be a common problem with these vehicles.

When placing the car in park and pressing the push start/stop, the car will not turn completely off. I have to repeatedly place the gear in all dnrp several times(5 or more) before the car realizes it is fully in park and all power turns completely off. I should not have to do this in order to turn the vehicle completely off. The vehicle is in stop position and in park. The vehicle will not power all the way off. Leaving the radio and lights on and disables the ability to lock the doors or set the alarm.

Tl- the contact owns a 2014 Mazda 6. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was able to coast to the side of the road. The contact powered off the engine, the vehicle was restated and was able to drive. The failure recurred twice, the engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where a diagnostic testing was completed but could not find a failure code. The vehicle was taken to d, dahle Mazda of murray dealer, located at 4595 state st, murray, ut 84107, (801) 266-0033, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000. Aw.

Tl the contact owns a 2012 Mazda 6. The contact stated that there was an internal electrical failure that caused the headlights to burn out. The contact replaced the headlight sockets twice on each side and noticed that the area was melting around the front head lamp assembly sockets. Russ darrow Mazda of madison (5234 high crossing blvd, madison, WI 53718, (877) 369-8081) was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to have a dealer repair the vehicle. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.

Vehicle randomly shuts off on the highway with no known cause or warning light. Mazda service department could not fix. This has happened 3 times now. Vehicle was driving in summer weather, no rain, no unusual conditions.

My vehicle will not turn off completely off when I park it. The engine will stop but all the panels and radio will continue to go. Sometimes I have had to try for over 20 minutes to get it to shut completely down. My spouse's Mazda and daughter's Mazda are doing the same thing. It's very frustrating.

When placing the car in park and pushing the off/on button an error message will appear saying the vehicle must be in park when it is and shows that on the dashboard and by looking at the gear shifter. The only way to fix it so you can turn off the electricity to the accessories and be able to lock your car is to start it again, put it into a different gear, and try again. Sometimes it will work one the second attempt but most times it takes 4 attempts for me to get it to recognize that it's in park.

Often when shutting off the car, the engine shuts off but the ignition and auxiliary power remain on. There is a message on the dash requesting to shift lever to p (park) but the lever is already positioned in p. It will take several attempts of shifting in and out of p to get the car to completely shut off all power.
