I was changing lanes and went to accelerate when the vehicle completely lost power. The cause of the loss of power is a plastic(yes plastic) rod that opens the intake to initiate turbo boost. The fact that his rod is made of plastic that can break so easily when you step on the gas pedal is dangerous. Mercedes benz is supposed to make a quality car that is very costly and it is shameful that it is made so shoddy creating a false sense of safety and quality. I am lucky to be alive and now have to fix this junk.

I recently noticed the smell of gasoline in the cabin of my vehicle. As it got stronger I became more worried. When cleaning out the car today I noticed the driver side rear seat belt was stained near the bottom(smells like fuel). I pulled up the back seat and under the seat on the driver side rear there is a significant amour of fuel puddled and stained into the floor and around a circular looking cover of some sort. While looking on the internet I saw that it has been common in this year/model car.

My 2006 e class 320 mercedes had a strong odor of gasoline. I took it to the dealer and they said it is a fuel sending unit problem I have read that this is a problem with this car and I should let you know that I have this problem. I am being told I have to pay $1000. 00 + for this repair are they supposed to cover this? I also read there is a recall on this car voluntary emissions recall # 2008-020001 can you please advise me I am very concerned.

Car stalled several times and had smell of gasoline vapors in passenger compartment. Fuel sensor and pump was replaced, issue went away. Vendor will not reimburse service and parts.

Filled the car up and a strong gas smell filled the garage and my home. We moved the car to sit outside of the home, but the fumes/smell lingered for hours. This made us dizzy and nauseous.

I'm lucky to be alive! I purchased this car in 2005 and ever since I purchased my 2003 merc. Benz E320, it's been a crazy ride! here's a list of different issues that happened to me over the course of me owning this vehicle, which unfortunately I still do. I was driving with my little girl in tow and my brakes went out on me several times, my battery dies constantly, I had an issue when after I pumped gas you could smell fuel both inside my car & outside of my car, I literally one time had fuel pouring from the back of my car that ended on my garage floor. (thank god I don't smoke!) my suspension is constantly rattling, I have water that leaks on my feet when I drive occasionally and sometimes I have heat in the winter and sometimes I don't. I always have a check engine light on and as soon as I fix one, another one comes on. I currently had issues with code po134, po135 and had the O2 sensor changed, then my check engine light came back on and now I have codes po171 & po174 that I have no idea how to get fixed because it could be a number of issues. My battery drains when my electric seats are plugged in and so I have to have them unplugged to save my battery. Did I mention my back tire blew out on interstate 95 and I almost lost control of my car. It's devastating to pay the amount of money you do for this particular model, it's pretty on the outside and is a mess under the hood! is it normal when you have the ac on for it to sound like an airplane ready for take off? I'm tired of investing all kinds of money into this car, I just can't take it anymore! I can't even pass my va. State emissions test because of all these error codes (check engine light and malfunctions) and the state doesn't even find my car worthy of being on the roads.

My mint condition w210 '00 E320 mercedes caught fire last week while my wife was pulling into her high rise office garage in downtown seattle. Fortunately, she was able to escape without injury before the fire grew and consumed the whole engine compartment. This engine fire started on its own with no outside factors. This car had been fully maintained during my 11 year ownership by mercedes of bellevue and mercedes of seattle. The car only had 155,000 miles on it, still fairly low mileage compared to the other mercedes I have owned over the years. I notified mercedes of seattle about this incident. No one in service seemed particularly concerned at the dealership, although they mentioned they have never seem a w210 catch on fire and burn on its own. Thus my message to you.

Strong gasoline smell inside car after fill up.

Fuel leak and strong odor of fuel after fill up. Fumes are highly flamable, toxic and noxious. Thought this issue was addressed under NHTSA action # ea13003 (dated Dec 19th 2014) and mercedes is telling me they are unaware of any extended warranty to correct this highly dangerous issue and refusing to correct as aggreement plainly calls for. Please help. I don't want myself or wife burned alive in my car !.

There is a strong gas odor coming from the car, which is extremely strong after the car has been parked overnight in garage. This is a very dangerous problem that should be remedied on all effected models.

Upon entering my closed garage in the early morning, I noticed a very strong gasoline smell. I took the car to my mercedes repair shop (not a dealer) who informed me that there was a leak in the fuel sending unit and that this was a developing problem with e class cars. He said there were class action suits against mercedes for this problem. He said mercedes would not admit it was a safety problem. Well, it seems like a safely problem to me! I certainly hope my government's ntsb is looking into this. Are we waiting for people to be severelyly burned or killed due to this problem?.

Dear sir or madam, every time we fueled up our vehicle we noticed a strong gas smell inside our garage as well as the vehicle cabin. We have called the dealer to check to see if there is any recall concerning the gas leak defect in this type of vehicle but they said there were no recall in effect. We are seriously concern about the safety of this vehicle for our family (may cause fire in the cabin, etc. ) so we are request a defect investigation of the fuel system in this vehicle. The wiring harness was cerumbling everywhere. I checked online and it is a very common problem with all e20. I checked no recall for this problem. This is totally a manufacturing problem, the coating to the wiring has desintergrated and it is unsafe to drive these cars. I have spent over $2,000 to try to get thgis car to pass emmisions, it fails so bad I cant even get a waiver,.
