Side/window Air Bag Problems of Mercedes Benz E350

I was driving home from work at approximately 1:30 pm on a clear, sunny day, about a minute away from my home. The road conditions were good, and there was no traffic. I stopped at the corner to make a left turn. As I proceeded to turn, the car suddenly accelerated. I immediately applied the brakes, but they did not engage. I had no control of the car. It jumped the curb ( caught on property owner's camera, going air born) , as I continued to brake as hard as I could with the car increasingly accelerating. I crashed through a fence and hit a pole which stopped the car deploying both driver side airbags. There was severe damage to the front right side of the car, and it was totaled. I was taken to the hospital via ambulance. My injury was diagnosed as acute l1 compression fracture along the superior endplate with mild anterior wedging. I was referred to an orthopedic specialist and have not returned to work due to pain and elevated blood pressure. To make matters worse, two days later I was issued a warning for failure to control speed!@&!.

Takata recall I received a letter from mercedes advising of passanger side air bag recall. I contacted a local dealer and was told it would be a year before the airbag can be replaced. I find this troublesome and alarming.

Mercedes has failed to comply with its obligation under its recall campaign 201901001 to replace the takata passenger side air bag. It has been nearly two years since the recall notice dated "February 2019" was received.

I received recall for passenger side airbag Feb 2019 and it still has not be replaced. Mb dealer can't order the bag because mbusa still has my case on pending. Mbusa said it was not up to them but up to the NHTSA to decide who's car get the replacement. This is not acceptable.

I received notice that there is a recall for my passenger side airbag approximately one year ago. I have been checking with multiple dealer locations and the parts are still not available. Please advise.

I have been given a recall notice that my passenger side air bag is potentially dangerous and could explode killing a passenger, but I have been told by mercedes that the part to fix will not be available until at least March of 2019. It is outrageous that I am unable to safely take a passenger in my car for a year and also have no way of selling the car since it is under such a serious recall. What can be done about this?.

I have received a letter from Mercedes Benz USA, dated December 2017, informing me (again) that the driver's side airbag is on recall, but that no part is yet available for replacement. I am to be notified when part becomes available. The problem is that I live on kaua'I and the nearest authorized mercedes dealer is Mercedes Benz of honolulu. It would cost me several hundred dollars to have the car barged to and from honolulu and would be a great inconvenience as both I and my spouse are disabled. I would request that I (and other mb owners on the island) receive the part when it becomes available and take it to the on-island garage that handles repairs of mercedes and other such vehicles, as there is no local dealer.

I have contacted mercedes repeatedly for 18 months about recall of passenger side airbag. I keep being told that they do not have the parts to fix it. I am issuing this complaint because I know of others (Honda) that seem to be able to get the parts and do the repairs. I am concerned about passenger safety and my wife will not ride in the car because of this. What can I do or can you help me get the necessary repair?.

Takata recall it has been a year since the notification of a side air bag defect which could injure or kill a passenger, and I have heard nothing from Mercedes Benz. The local dealer in sarasota, FL says they have no information regarding the replacement. If they are manufacturing vehicles with safe air bags, then why can't they fix mine?.

The pasenger-side airbags deployed without a collision. The car was in motion and the airbags deployed without even hitting a pothole.

Letter from senator bill nelson on behalf of constituent's recall notice received in Jan 2017 for takata passenger side airbag for 2012 E350 Mercedes Benz and replacement parts to fix the recall and no passengers allowed in the car. Takata recall: I was notified of this recall regarding my driver side airbag almost a year ago with no contact or remedy since. Mercedes has also refused to provide alternate transportation at the dealer and manufacturer level, saying no one has been injured yet. I feel mercedes should take responsibility for the safety of its customer and provide loaner vehicles while we wait for replacement airbags. I don't feel my life should be put at risk for this issue.

I have contacted dealer many times and they will not replace drivers side airbag. This is the cause of driving an unsafe vehicle that according to them can cause injury or death to the driver.

Safety recall on drivers side air bags has not been remedied yet.

Takata recall my year of car, zone and being driver's side airbag should make my car a priority in the recall. It has been 2 years since the initial notice of a recall. I have filed a previous complaint with NHTSA- when is real action going to happen this is not ok to give dates car will be fixed last time was March 2018 but now may 26th and nothing again!!.

Takata recall driver side air bag recall sent in Feb. 2016 and recall on passenger side air bags on Mar 2016 however we have yet to get issue resolved. Contacted dealership many times without any useful information on the replacement of the air bags.

Also, the contact indicated that while the passenger seat was occupied, the message indicating that the passenger side air bag system was deactivated illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact owns a 2007 Mercedes Benz E350. While driving 75 mph, the passenger side air bag deployed for no apparent reason. The contact pulled the vehicle to the side of the road to investigate the failure and then drove to his residence. There were no failures or warning lights illuminated prior to this incident. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was serviced for routine maintenance prior to the failure. The current and failure mileages were 34,000.
