1 Transmission Not Engage problem of the 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 03/07/2021

As I was driving it it seems to hesitate on accelerating after a few stops the transmission light would come on for a little bit then go off. Same with the check engine light. As I was driving it to work on the highway. . It suddenly started losing power and I was able to pull over and park it at a gas station where it went completely dead. . I had aaa tow it. . It started up but the shifting is not engaging right away. Had the software updated in 2019. . The cvt transmission are full of problems. It seems to have the same symptoms as the recall but my car was not recalled according to the VIN number. . I had a flush done recently and I have also had the oil changed when needed. The acceleration hesitation then loss of power while driving 60 on the freeway is a safety issue. . . A lot of semi trucks travel that highway and they cant stop when a car loses power in front of them.

2 Transmission Not Engage problem of the 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 12/01/2012

Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer ralliart. The contact stated that only certain gears could be engaged when driving at various speeds. When shifting into reverse, the indicator module would indicate that the vehicle was in reverse but the vehicle would not engage in reverse. When attempting to reverse, the transmission warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where they advised him that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and offered no assistance. The failure and current mileages were approximately 25,000. Kmj.

3 Transmission Not Engage problem of the 2002 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 12/17/2011

I have purchased this car as a second owner as I was told. The transmission was acting funny at first and I was told that this is normal because the car was sitting for a while. The car had only 115,000 miles when purchased, the reason I bought it with low miles and appearance. Last week when it was driven, the car acted even funnier until it stalled: the car will not engage in any forward gears, it will only engage in the reverse gear. After researching the fact, I was told by many sources that the 2002-2005 Lancers had a lot of issues with the transmissions in many ways. I need to know if that's true and what could be done especially after I looked at the blogs about what's so named " Lancers". It will be a shame for a manufacturer to release a car in the market with such problem.

5 Transmission Not Engage problem of the 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer

Failure Date: 07/20/2003

I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer evolution-8, and at approximately 2,400 miles I began having problems with my transmission, and no modifications had beed done to the car. It started out as a 4th to 5th gear shifting problem(grinding). It seems like it's rpm sensitive. I had the dealership look at it, and they said it wasn't bad enough need fixing, however, did aknowledge after they drove it that there was something "out of place" with my transmission and did experience the same problem that I was having. I have had the car in three times for this, but it is obvious that they have no desire to fix this. Then around 4,500 miles it started to have problems going into second gear, and third gear with a very notchy and rough engagement. I now have 12,500 miles on my car and the shifting is getting much worse. After browsing the internet, I found many letters and documents of people with the same transmission problems on this year and model of car with the end result being that the owner of the car is at fault and not the manufacturer/dealer. One reference # is 10063730 NHTSA complaint 464401 entered March 23, 2004.
