Catalytic Convertor problems of the 2004 Nissan Altima

1 Catalytic Convertor problem

Failure Date: 10/13/2010

2004 Nissan Altima. Consumer states problem with catalytic converter the consumer stated she will have the catalytic converter replaced at her expense, because Nissan claimed it did not need to be replaced yet. However, the consumers mechanic stated it was going bad and could cause the engine to seize.

2 Catalytic Convertor problem

Failure Date: 02/05/2007

- the contact owns a 2004 Nissan Altima with an odometer reading of 130000 miles. The contact received recall 06v242000. When he went to the dealer they charged him for checking the catalytic converter. The contact took the vehicle to another Nissan dealer, and they told him that the catalytic converter was fine. The contact called the manufacturer, but they had not returned the call. There had been no failures to date.

3 Catalytic Convertor problem

Failure Date: 12/20/2003

2004 Nissan Altima failed to crank on cold mornings 5 times. In and out of service department. Finally replaced fuel control modulator. Next morning car cranked in 29 degree weather and now is smoking (black smoke). Returned car to service department on 1-31-04 along with a cloth containing the residue from the tail pipes.
