2 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

Failure Date: 05/05/2016

For the 2nd time car running very rough and stalling. Had it serviced seems the spark plugs were destroyed and not functioning. Paid over $500 for mechanic to put in new plugs now it happened again. Seems there is a voluntary service campaign qr25de power valve. Campaign id p5202. A bolt from manifold is falling into cylinder and blowing out spark plug and causing internal engine damage, my mechanic put camera in cylinder. Car is running but it has already happened to cylinder 1 and 4. Next time my 22 year old daughter may not be so lucky on her highway commute. Hopefully the local Nissan dealer can rectify problem before the problem becomes more serious. The engine light came on that says to service engine soon, it is still on. . . From what I have found online sounds like power valve screws are coming out and creating engine damage.

3 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2008

The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled intermittently while driving 30 mph. On April 20, 2008, the vehicle shut off and was towed to the garage. The mechanic found a loose clip in the intake manifold that caused the spark plugs to fail. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. A diagnosis was not performed because the VIN was not included in Nissan's preventive service. A report was filed with the manufacturer. The manufacturer stated that the VIN did not fall under the preventive service; therefore, they would not assist with the repair. The current and failure mileages were 89,000.

4 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

Failure Date: 07/06/2007

2004 Nissan Altima 2. 5 had severe missing issue and dealer advised that it was an issue with the screws of the power ring on the intake manifold. The screw had came loose and damaged the intake manifold. Nissan has voluntary service campaign qr25de power valve ( p5202) for this issue. My car has the exact issue and the year and engine size is the same. The VIN number of my car is within the posted VIN's of this campaign - however they now say the "campaign" is VIN specific, and you guessed it - my VIN isn't on their list. $700. 00 later the dealer won't pay, Nissan America refuses to honor the fix listed in their own campaign this is a known design flaw issue, same car, same engine size, within the VIN numbers listed. No relief. They also replaced all the screws with "upgraded screws" and lock each screw. The internet is filled with this issue and others with no assistance. Please make this a recall !.
