Dashboard Crack Problems of Nissan Altima

My 2011 Nissan Altima has a melted dashboard and the clear coat is coming off. Most importantly, there is a terrible glare from the damaged dashboard and it is a major safety hazard. See the attached pictures. I contacted Nissan nat'l and they said it was out of warranty, but they would help me. They had me get diagnosis on the dash and clear coat, then told me no, it's out of warranty!!? I understand a lot of other Nissan owners are having the same problems. Nissan has already had a class action lawsuit for these two issues for models up to 2009, so they knew the dash and clear coat were bad, yet they sold new models anyway!.

The dash in my car is melting and causing a film from the chemicals to form on the windshield. Also causes a glare when driving into the sun. The dash is also got a solid crack around the cluster area.

My 2007 Nissan Altima dashboard suddenly started having cracks. The cracks run all along the seams but there are others that just cracked out of no where. I have notified Nissan corporate who referred me to my local dealership and when I talked to my dealership they said they � would look into it� and get back with me. I am aware of the class action lawsuits in florida and texas and they state it's the heat. Well I live in louisiana just as hot and I park in a garage. 80,000 miles. With all these cracks and goo and sticky stuff people are having has anyone tested this substance for toxicity. I now have two white spots appearing. My cracks looks like the dashboard is lifting and I was told it could be gases from � glue� that holds dash down. As a former nurse this could be very dangerous as no one is testing this and it can be affecting thousands of lives who are exposed to this daily. Nissan is aware of this problem and they state out of warranty. Have they tested this. All complaints are 2007 owners. In my opinion this needs further investigation due to possible substances being released (I have asthma) and other owners who cannot see out their window. We have had our car several years and we also can't roll down the windows with our key or power locks either.

My entire dashboard has started to disintegrate. I noticed it started to get shiny and sticky by the window and it is now the entire thing is so soft I can slightly press my finger nail into the plastic and it will actually cut or gouge the plastic. I have never seen a cars dashboard do this. I only use water and a cloth to clean the dash and crack my windows in the summer to avoid extremely hot temps. It is like the sun has melted the dashboard but it doesn't matter how hot or cold it is it is always brittle.

My 2007 Nissan Altima dashboard is all cracked. The cracks run along the seams and also started cracking everywhere just out of no where. I took it to the Nissan dealer in pembroke pines. They took a report and told me that someone would get back to me. I tried to tell him the story and he said he knew what to write. A few days later a lady called me and told me it was out of warranty and there is nothing they would do for me. It is the heat. I keep my car under my carport in the shade whenever I am at home when I go to work it is parked in the shade in the parking garage when I go shopping, I use a sun shade. My car has about 65,000 miles on it and it looks horrible inside with the cracked dashboard and is a safety issue. Something needs to be done about this issue. I know I am not the only person that is having this issue. Somebody needs to make Nissan take care of this issue for their customers.

The soft material covering the top and front of my dash is cracking and the cracks are sticky. The car is garage kept, and only has about 85,000 miles. As this material failure continues, it will destroy the usefulnes of the car. This is a manufacturing defect that needs repair or correction, right away.

08 Nissan Altima coupe that I purchased new in south florida February 08 that I've owned since has a melted, sticky, and cracked dashboard. Also, the dash is changing colors. The defective and melted dashboard makes it dangerous to drive because the sun reflects on the dashboard making it very hard to see out of the windshield. As referenced in the class action lawsuit tracy sanborn v. Nissan north America, inc. My car should be covered. I spoke with a rep at 1-800-Nissan-1 and they claimed to have no idea this existing. I have opened my case and will hopefully get it fixed soon.

Nissan was sued last year for dashboards of Nissan Altimas for 2008 and 2009. My Nissan is a 2007. Went to the dealer because I have the same problems it causes a glare on the windshield when driving that I could easily cause an accident. For years my dashboard has been cracked. It's sticky and discusting . My car has always slept in the garage . I do live in florida . I bought the car in florida . The lawsuit was for florida residents only . I want to know why these lawyers were able to sue Nissan got millions of dollars but only submitted 2008 and 2008 the lawsuit gave customers only about 5 months to do a claim . Total bologny . What do I have to do to fight Nissan on this matter .

My dashboard is sticky and cracking in many places. It also gets so hot in the summer that I was removing something from it and my fingernail took a piece of the dash. My car is garage kept and when parked in the sun, sun shields are used. I noticed this issue in July of last year. Nissan dealer said warranty would not cover it and there was nothing that could be done.
