The problem we encountered was, when leaving to go to the movies, we heard a large bang went to see if something was under the car. Next we drove a few feet and heard a dragging noise. Upon inspection the rear tire was out of line. When checking the underside of the car, we were taken back by what we saw. The entire part of the car was rusted and the frame had rusted away from the main part of the car. We had gone out the night before and were on the highway going at least 50 mph, had this happened then we would have been killed. That night we were heading toward the highway to go to the movies. I can't believe the condition of the car. This car is kept in the garage and the underside had been hosed down to keep the salt from harming the underside. I have looked into this and found these cars have had many complaints about the rust underneath these cars. It has been happening for years. Some around 2005 and some even older that that. I would like to know why there hadn't had a recall in regards to this complete rust problem on the underside of these cars. I think we may have a case against Nissan after reviewing and having the knowledge of all the cars dealing with this problem. Most of these people said they will never buy another Nissan because of this problem. I will have to have the photo's sent later as I do not have the phone with them on it.

Had to replace front passenger floor pan because there was a hole about 15 inches long and 5 inches wide due to rust. My front subframe is completely rusted at this point. Rust is expected in new york due to salt, but after talking with Nissan they said they have not heard anyone else having issues despite thousands of hits on a simple internet search about rust issues for Nissans.

Extreme rust and corrosion of the driver's side floor panel and frame. Rusted area is about 3' x 1'. Rust has exposed the insulation under the carpet; there is no metal remaining in a 4" x 6" area. Metal around this is very thin. I am concerned that too much pressure from my foot will cause larger area to collapse. Estimate to repair at a body shop is about $1,400. I have driven many cars longer than this and have never had a frame or underside rust like this. It is surely a defect in manufacturing and a possible safety issue if my feet go through the hole or a piece of road debris penetrates the carpet.

Noticed a large piece of something hanging from undercarriage. Took to body shop who stated both driver's and passenger's sides are severely rusted with multiple holes up to 6 inches totally through to carpet and interior. Considered a safety risk due to exposure of fumes/gases from engine/exhaust as well as the risk of "falling through". Rest of car looks good no visible rust on frame or rear. No history of collisions or impact damage. We are not in an area of great road salt need nor near an ocean. Estimate to repair over $1000. Advised not safe to drive or sell as is. Noticed in complaints, this has been an issue since at least 2010. Why has a recall not been issued?.

Body and frame of car rusted out leaving a 6-inch by 10-inch hole in the floorboard. The rust hole is located under the driver's seat, on the frame, and around the jack reinforcement. The hole, deemed a structural flaw, is the reason the car failed its safety inspection in virginia. The estimated prices to repair the hole ranged from $2,500 to $5,000.
