1 Electrical System problem of the 2025 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 03/16/2026

I am reporting a severe combined safety failure involving fuel delivery and electronic systems. Between 1:22 pm and 3:37 pm, documented evidence shows the vehicle's fuel range dropped by 37 miles while the odometer recorded only 6 actual miles driven—a 600% abnormal fuel consumption rate accompanied by excessive engine noise. The odometer also exhibited erratic behavior, reversing and then spiking while stationary. Additionally, the unit was provided with critically low tire pressure (26 psi), which continued to drop while parked, indicating an active leak neglected by maintenance. Furthermore, there is a discrepancy in records: the VIN indicates a black vehicle, but the actual unit provided is white. These defects posed an immediate fire and road safety risk, causing significant psychological and physical distress (vertigo).

2 Electrical System problem of the 2019 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 03/03/2026

I’ve owned this vehicle since March 2023, and I have experienced several electrical issues. For instance, my car displays a malfunction warning and the check engine light multiple times throughout the month. When the engine malfunction warning appears, the engine will not accelerate, and if the vehicle is idling, it will shut off. I then have to restart the car. Another issue involves the door locks. I am sometimes unable to lock my doors using the key, or the lock will get stuck and not open. I have also seen other complaints reporting the same issue. This is concerning and poses a safety hazard.

3 Electrical System problem of the 2023 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 02/10/2026

I purchased my car earlier this year. Paid in full. After having it for about 3 months I had to get a new battery. Now, about 2 months later I’m having to get a new alternator. A licensed car mechanic purchased the battery and put it on. The alternator, I went to the Nissan dealership and they told me it was the alternator. Never any lights or warning lights or labels, with battery I had to boost it, with alternator it just started making a loud sound. I was afraid if mind and willows(my 6 year old) safety, driving and breaking down on the road, so I took it to Nissan to run a test on it. With no warnongs and this loyd noise I was freaked out. The altinador cost $901. 00, just for the part, with a 2 week back order.

4 Electrical System problem of the 2019 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 02/05/2026

Every time I put the breaks on or go over any kind of speed bump, it bounces and sounds like warn out bed springs. Out of nowhere the volume on my radio will turn up extremely loud. Its happened more than a handful of times while driving and it scared me to the point of having to pull over to gather myself. Some days it doesn’t work at all. The past 3 months, my front passenger window gets stuck and won’t go up without me turning the car off then back on and still at times won’t work. I’ve had no choice but to leave the window down more than enough times and putting plastic over it until it decides to work again. The engine shakes and it feels like the transmission is about to give.

5 Electrical System problem of the 2024 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 01/24/2026

My 2024 Nissan Altima, with approximately 13,000 miles stalled while driving in 10 degree fahrenheit weather with snow on the road. My speed was around 45 mph. The vehicle immediately stalled and all the lights on the dashboard went on. The warning flashed something about an engine error. The brakes seized up while in snowy weather and with cars very close behind me. Easily could have caused an accident and was a pretty scary event. The car is maintained well and have very low mileage and is taken care of well. I slowed down and then another error screen popped up saying to immediately take care for service. While I was attempted to slow down with brake pedal super hard to push; I attempted to put car in neutral with my hazard lights on by now. Car started again while I was coasting about 20 mph, with engine light showing. I immediately took it to the closest dealership to me for service and left it there. This is completely unacceptable behavior for a new car of this type and I never experience anything ever like this with my old 2012 Nissan Altima. This could have caused a very bad accident had I not been driving and my wife or something else not as calm as me were to be driving. I suggest investigating this because I have read about recalls for this type of thing on previous models of Nissans. Currently vehicle is parked at dealership for service on 1-24-2026.

6 Electrical System problem of the 2024 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 01/02/2026

The driver’s seat heater malfunctioned and produced excessive heat while activated during normal vehicle operation. The heat became extremely intense at a low temperature and resulted in burns to the driver’s midsection, lower back, and upper buttocks. I, the driver sustained physical injuries including burning sensations, skin irritation, and visible discoloration marks in the affected areas. The excessive heat occurred without warning and created a safety hazard to the driver while operating the vehicle. There were no warning lights, messages, or alerts indicating a problem with the seat heating system prior to the incident. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by Nissan motor corporation consumer affairs. An inspection appointment originally scheduled for February 24, 2026 was rescheduled to March 12, 2026. The vehicle and seat heating components are available for inspection upon request.

7 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 01/01/2026

Passenger back locks stopped working first. Then driver side back locks. Now both driver and passenger front locks will not lock/unlock automatically. This is scary when not being able to get in/out of vehicle for an emergency. I have reviewed multiple complaints and it appears this is a very common Nissan problem that needs to be addressed before it becomes a bigger safety problem.

9 Electrical System problem of the 2020 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 12/11/2025

This is my second Altima I bought. A 2016 and a 2020. Both vehicles had issues where the car door wouldn't open from the inside or outside due to the lock system. If my car is "locked" and I go to open the drivers door,. It sets off the theft alarm system. These issues cause major issues because if I get into an accident and am not able to open the car door I could possibly die from not being able to get to me fast enough, sitting too long, etc the possibilities are endless. Not to mention I get up pretty early sometimes so to hear a theft alarm at full maximum volume is frustrating to say in simple terms. Other issues include the volume on my car will randomly turn to max volume or turns off. Essentially an error electronically that affects numerous aspects and integrity of the vehicle itself.

12 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 11/07/2025

Hi this is in reference to my 2021 Nissan Altima. The fob key entry and electrical door control doesn't work. The automator for my doors have had to be replaced. First the rear passenger and five days later the rear passenger door on drivers side and now the drivers door. As a single female this is a safety issue. If I can't access my vehicle in an emergency it turns into a life or death situation. I've researched this and many owners of like vehicle have had this complaint and reported it, but appears that Nissan has ignored it. When my repairs are done it isn't inexpensive. Please please please!!! look into this. Please and thank you. Tempe Dodge Chrysler and Jeep tempe az is where the repairs are done. Jon (833) 552-1518 service department.

Didn't know what the list this one but at a certain speed on the highway the hood latch comes loose unlocks, and my backup camera all of a sudden doesn't always work, sometimes the screen is completely black. . . Also the sensor that tells you that a car is too close to you keeps turning itself off and then when you check the radar sensor to make sure that it's clear of debris there's no debris but yet this thing just keeps turning itself off while you're on the highway or local road. . . I will list when the first problem started happening and then we know when the other ones start happening consecutively afterwards. . Electrical issue front passenger door will not open automatically putting my passenger at risk.

17 Electrical System problem of the 2006 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 09/10/2025

I have replaced the water pump, the belt, the thermostats, the rotors, the brakes, the fuel pump, the evap vent valve solenoid, the spark plugs, and fuel injectors and my car is still throwing the codes p-0462 and p-447. I've checked the wires and they are good. My car keeps misfiring and stalling now and my fuel pump doesn't have a fuel level sensor. The float bar is brand new as well as the fuel pump. And my dashboard speedometer is 10 miles off. I've tried everything and it's still throwing the same codes.

19 Electrical System problem of the 2020 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 09/04/2025

3 out of 4 of my doors have to be locked and unlocked by hand instead of using my Nissan key button to unlock my car. 3 of the motors are bad or it's some kind of electrical issue that goggle says is common in 2019 to 2020 Nissan Altimas. I feel like I shouldn't have to pay out of pocket myself to get this fixed if it's a noted common issue on goggle.

20 Electrical System problem of the 2019 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 08/19/2025

I have a 2019 Nissan Altima sr 2. 5. I have currently had the car for about 3 or 4 years now. For most of the time I have had the car, the check engine light stays on. I have had it tested, and it always states that it is the mass air flow sensor. When sitting in park idling, it will "malfunction" and state that the engine is reducing power. During this, the automatic emergency brake warning light and the vdc light will come on. It's rare that it happens while I am driving but it has happened. I recently had the vehicle checked again and again it stated that the mass air flow sensor and the grille shutter actuator were throwing codes along with some other minor items. I purchased the mafs and replaced it in hope that this would correct a lot of the idling issues, however after a few days of driving the vehicle, it again has started to malfunction and idle harshly. I do know it typically happens in the morning recently, but I was also having issues with my battery draining for no reason. This car is a certified lemon. I currently don't know what to do, as this sight states I have no unrepaired recalls for this vehicle, and I currently owe too much money to trade it in.

21 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 08/01/2025

Engine light comes on I get it checked out every time is the same issue saying it's "mass air flow" it's now the 4th time I switch the piece and the car keeps on leaving me stranded now it's lead to a computer problem various mechanics have told me this particular model of year has allot of issues with this I'm not sure why there hasn't been a recall yet.

22 Electrical System problem of the 2019 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 07/29/2025

I changed the air mass flow sensor and it’s still showing the check engine light on my dash board and giving me the same code after replacing it brand new. My brakes sound horrible after replacing both sets of brakes, front and back. The foward collision warning sensor did not respond in a timely matter, resulting in a minor fender bender.

23 Electrical System problem of the 2023 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 07/09/2025

The automatic emergency braking (aeb) system with pedestrian detectionb warning light coming on in my car. No, I dont feel my safety was at risk at that time no, it has not been reproduced or confirmed. We did take the veh to Nissan of greenville, TX and was told there was nothing they could do about it since the light was not on at that time and dwas told the sensor might be dirty, or that the sun "hit the sensor, causing it to go off" there was no other lights or wanrnings prior to the malfunction wanrning.

25 Electrical System problem of the 2011 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 07/03/2025

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the engine control module (ecm) is malfunctioning, triggering persistent p0101 codes related to the mass air flow (maf) sensor. This specific issue is addressed in Nissan technical service bulletin de97aa, which recommends an ecm reprogramming. The component is still installed in the vehicle and is available for inspection. ? • how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? when the vehicle is at a complete stop and I attempt to accelerate, it becomes jumpy and unresponsive, refusing to accelerate properly. This creates a serious safety hazard, especially when trying to merge into traffic or cross intersections, as I am unable to match the speed of other vehicles. This increases the risk of being rear-ended or causing an accident due to unexpectedly slow acceleration. ? • has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes. An independent mechanic diagnosed the issue and confirmed the code p0101. After reviewing Nissan’s official TSB de97aa, they advised me to go to a Nissan dealership to have the ecm reprogrammed as outlined in the bulletin. ? • has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? the vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic, but not yet by the manufacturer. The dealership is aware of the issue but has refused to perform the repair without payment. ? • were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? yes. The check engine light is consistently triggered by code p0101, and the traction control warning light also comes on when the issue is active. The symptoms appeared recently and continue to recur even after the code is reset.

27 Electrical System problem of the 2023 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 06/27/2025

This vehicle was purchased used with 10,000 miles. Since purchase we have been experience with the battery and electrical system not functioning properly. The car is not driven much, but is started daily and run for 10 minutes when it is functioning. The car shuts down and it is necessary for us to have usaa or aaa start it, they have told us there is an electrical system problem. The car was taken to colonial Nissan dealership in feasterville, PA for PA state inspection and to resolve this problem. We were told "the car is not driven enough and there is no problem". The car is driven a few miles daily and has shut down again. I have contacted Nissan and they said they would get back to me to resolve this problem. I contacted them on 6/20/25 and they have not gotten back to me. The car has shut down at least a dozen times requiring usaa or aaa roadside assistance, both say there is an electrical problem.

29 Electrical System problem of the 2020 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 06/20/2025

Windshield wiper fluid reservoir sensor going on even when reservoir is full. Gives drivers a warning light which is very distracting. If you go on line, this appears to be an extremely common problem that Nissan has not addressed. This can lead people to not know if they have fluid in reservoir as they will eventually ignore warning light or disconnect sensor (the two most common solutions in Nissan Altima forum).

30 Electrical System problem of the 2010 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 06/17/2025

33 Electrical System problem of the 2020 Nissan Altima

The forward collision warning sensor, the rear collision sensor and the traction lights turns on and off from time to time . The transmission seems like its been force to accelerate.

34 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Nissan Altima

Failure Date: 04/14/2025

About a month ago I noticed my backup camera had gotten dark. I didn’t worry much about it until it started glitching a couple days ago. I gave it a couple of days thinking it would go away but it hasn’t. It either glitches with lines through it, it freezes, or goes black altogether. I then did some research on it finding that there have been recalls on the 2021 Nissan Altima model cameras, just not mine specifically. I’m not sure why that is but it’s an issue I’m not willing to pay out of my pocket knowing that it’s been a year to model issue in the past. I would like this recall to be put in place and me be able to get it repaired free of charge seeing that it’s an obvious danger while backing up and the fact I did not personally damage it.
