I have a 2019 Nissan Altima sr 2. 5. I have currently had the car for about 3 or 4 years now. For most of the time I have had the car, the check engine light stays on. I have had it tested, and it always states that it is the mass air flow sensor. When sitting in park idling, it will "malfunction" and state that the engine is reducing power. During this, the automatic emergency brake warning light and the vdc light will come on. It's rare that it happens while I am driving but it has happened. I recently had the vehicle checked again and again it stated that the mass air flow sensor and the grille shutter actuator were throwing codes along with some other minor items. I purchased the mafs and replaced it in hope that this would correct a lot of the idling issues, however after a few days of driving the vehicle, it again has started to malfunction and idle harshly. I do know it typically happens in the morning recently, but I was also having issues with my battery draining for no reason. This car is a certified lemon. I currently don't know what to do, as this sight states I have no unrepaired recalls for this vehicle, and I currently owe too much money to trade it in.

Engine light comes on I get it checked out every time is the same issue saying it's "mass air flow" it's now the 4th time I switch the piece and the car keeps on leaving me stranded now it's lead to a computer problem various mechanics have told me this particular model of year has allot of issues with this I'm not sure why there hasn't been a recall yet.

The automatic emergency braking (aeb) system with pedestrian detectionb warning light coming on in my car. No, I dont feel my safety was at risk at that time no, it has not been reproduced or confirmed. We did take the veh to Nissan of greenville, TX and was told there was nothing they could do about it since the light was not on at that time and dwas told the sensor might be dirty, or that the sun "hit the sensor, causing it to go off" there was no other lights or wanrnings prior to the malfunction wanrning.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? the engine control module (ecm) is malfunctioning, triggering persistent p0101 codes related to the mass air flow (maf) sensor. This specific issue is addressed in Nissan technical service bulletin de97aa, which recommends an ecm reprogramming. The component is still installed in the vehicle and is available for inspection. ? • how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? when the vehicle is at a complete stop and I attempt to accelerate, it becomes jumpy and unresponsive, refusing to accelerate properly. This creates a serious safety hazard, especially when trying to merge into traffic or cross intersections, as I am unable to match the speed of other vehicles. This increases the risk of being rear-ended or causing an accident due to unexpectedly slow acceleration. ? • has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes. An independent mechanic diagnosed the issue and confirmed the code p0101. After reviewing Nissan’s official TSB de97aa, they advised me to go to a Nissan dealership to have the ecm reprogrammed as outlined in the bulletin. ? • has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? the vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic, but not yet by the manufacturer. The dealership is aware of the issue but has refused to perform the repair without payment. ? • were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? yes. The check engine light is consistently triggered by code p0101, and the traction control warning light also comes on when the issue is active. The symptoms appeared recently and continue to recur even after the code is reset.

This vehicle was purchased used with 10,000 miles. Since purchase we have been experience with the battery and electrical system not functioning properly. The car is not driven much, but is started daily and run for 10 minutes when it is functioning. The car shuts down and it is necessary for us to have usaa or aaa start it, they have told us there is an electrical system problem. The car was taken to colonial Nissan dealership in feasterville, PA for PA state inspection and to resolve this problem. We were told "the car is not driven enough and there is no problem". The car is driven a few miles daily and has shut down again. I have contacted Nissan and they said they would get back to me to resolve this problem. I contacted them on 6/20/25 and they have not gotten back to me. The car has shut down at least a dozen times requiring usaa or aaa roadside assistance, both say there is an electrical problem.
When driving down the street car shuts off lights flicker on and off continuously sometimes it don’t turn back on sometimes it does but I usually just coast until it turns back on very dangerous if on freeway or heavy traffic also the brake light and and trac lights go on when this happens. When stepping on gas the rpm’s go up really high like the transmission is going out.

Windshield wiper fluid reservoir sensor going on even when reservoir is full. Gives drivers a warning light which is very distracting. If you go on line, this appears to be an extremely common problem that Nissan has not addressed. This can lead people to not know if they have fluid in reservoir as they will eventually ignore warning light or disconnect sensor (the two most common solutions in Nissan Altima forum).

Driving down the road and my parking brake light came on when it wasn’t in park and I was on a highway. Malfunction light came on, but car runs fine and had it looked at with no problems.
The forward collision warning sensor, the rear collision sensor and the traction lights turns on and off from time to time . The transmission seems like its been force to accelerate.
About a month ago I noticed my backup camera had gotten dark. I didn’t worry much about it until it started glitching a couple days ago. I gave it a couple of days thinking it would go away but it hasn’t. It either glitches with lines through it, it freezes, or goes black altogether. I then did some research on it finding that there have been recalls on the 2021 Nissan Altima model cameras, just not mine specifically. I’m not sure why that is but it’s an issue I’m not willing to pay out of my pocket knowing that it’s been a year to model issue in the past. I would like this recall to be put in place and me be able to get it repaired free of charge seeing that it’s an obvious danger while backing up and the fact I did not personally damage it.

I own a 2019 Nissan Altima s, and recently, all three door locks except for the front passenger door stopped responding to the key fob and the button on the door. From my research, it seems that the most common cause of this issue is a faulty door lock actuator. Many users on reddit and other forums have reported that the door lock actuators in 2019 Nissan Altimas or new models 2020, 2021 and 2022 can fail, resulting in doors that won’t lock or unlock either with the key fob or even manually. This problem can affect one or multiple doors at a time and is often attributed to a defective actuator. I spoke with a Nissan customer who refused to repair my vehicle and advised me to contact the NHTSA. They will investigate, and if approved, Nissan will repair the issue at no charge. I would like to report this issue for a potential recall and seek assistance with repairs, which are estimated to cost around $1,000.
I am original owner. Twice now in the early morning I have found my trunk automatically opened with out reason. I thought maybe I did it by mistake but I clearly did not after 2nd time. Never has this happened in my life to any of my cars. After looking online I found other owners also experienced same occurrence with this 2015 Altima. I understand it could be anything, bad battery in hand clicker, faulty electrical switch, etc. I located the on/off switch in the glove compartment and turned it off. Now, I just have to remember to turn it on/off all the time so I don't find the trunk opened again. I could get my car stolen if I leave my car out side and go out of town. 1) if there is a recall to get this electrical fixed, please let me known. Thank you.
My car constantly turns off mid drive and then turns back on , also all the lights on my dash pop up eveytime I start the car so I’m pretty sure it’s an electric issue sometimes it’s doesn’t start I have to play with the battery little bit and I’ve had it tested even bought a new one so ik it’s not the battery it’s electric, it frequently turns off for like 5 seconds while I’m driving and then turns back on.

My 2020 Nissan Altima door actuators are all currently broken. The doors will not unlock with the fob and have to be manually unlocked. This can cause a huge safety issue if they are unable to be unlocked.
I came out in the morning and the whole inside of my car had smoke damage, there seems to be what looked like a wire issue that has caused a fire in the center council of my Nissan . Thank god by the grade of god the fire went out by its self . I do not want this to happen to anyone else.
I was driving with my child in the car and the volume on the radio spiked to an extremely high level. This has happened multiple times and the volume control knob is defective so I cannot turn down the volume or the radio off. I brought the vehicle into the Nissan dealer and they diagnosed an internal failure to the a/v control unit and recommended replacing this. When the volume spikes to full blast, I cannot turn the radio off. They are charging $2000 to have this repaired even though it's a safety hazard and I am distracted while driving to keep trying to turn the volume off or the radio off. The controls do not work and they independently turn the volume on full blast.
There car chugs and stops . I have had this checked multiple times sensors changed and no solution . Check engine light initiated and car stops - very dangerous issue while I'm on highway.
Due to the pasadena wildfires the car has been highly affected due to the extreme heat and the ashes.
I have had this vehicle since December 28, 2017, and during that time, the battery has been replaced nearly five times at the dealership. The reason they provided is that the battery now lasts less than two years. I have repeatedly asked them to investigate whether there might be an issue with the electrical components, but they have refused to do so, even while my vehicle was still under warranty.

My car shuts off going down the road happens randomly it happened in July of 2024 and in November 2024 no warning lights came on it just shuts off I have not had my car looked at yet but I do plan on taking it to a dealer.
Passenger door won’t unlock at all.
Backup camera fails consistently backup camera screen goes grey. It is dangerous because you cannot see behind or to the side when backing up. It has been to the dealer and they claim they cannot replicate the issue. The problem is more consistent now and it is out of the 36000 mile warranty. The camera system is now failing daily. No warning lamps. The vehicle also has a no start condition, and it won't detect the key fob intermittently resulting in me being stranded 3 times. Also taken to the dealer and the problem could not be replicated. The camera problem does not seem to be affected by weather conditions wet or dry hot or cold the problem started at approx. 10000 miles took it to the dealer at 34000 miles now I have 48000 miles car is 2 years old.
While driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights were inadvertently illuminated.
In August 2024, while driving at around 35 mph, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The background was red and had white writing. The only word I got to see was "master" something. It flashed so quickly I couldn't read it. The car lost speed like it was about to stall simultaneously. A week later I had to jump start the engine. I had my battery checked and it was good. I had to get another jump start on October 8, 2024. I bought the car new in April 2019. I've replaced the battery twice. I shouldn't have to replace the battery that often. I have kept the maintenance up as required.
While driving down the interstate at 70 miles per hour, going up an incline, the car lost all power & then jerked kicking back into gear. Once off the interstate attempting to get to a safe place, it completely shut off without warning! no check engine lights or any warning lights. Just randomly shuts off. After replacing what was assumed as the mass flow air sensor ($186. 00) & the crankshaft sensor ($80) it continues to have issues. The battery (new battery $220) was also replaced & the alternator checked due to randomly shutting off-which checked out to be fine. Come to find out it’s the cvt judder. After reading all the complaints, I’m confused as to why there isn’t a recall or extended warranty on the transmission. My car only has 119k miles! we should not be having issues with these transmission.
After the car warms up it will not accelerate like it should. I was stopped at a light - when I went to turn left at the light my car would not accelerate. It slowly rolled out into oncoming traffic. Like it was in limp mode or something. Then at the last minute the car jolted forward like I had the gas pedal fully depressed. Very scary and unsafe. I’ve had this happen many times. I’ve taken it in but haven’t found a solution.
The brake switch keeps coming loose making it difficult to start the car when pressing the brake down. When the switch is not secure, the electrical connection is lost and it is very hard to press the brake down. What if this happens in the middle of traffic? the issue also causes the brake lights to remain on and not turn off. This has to be a faulty part. My car is a 2020 and the it's too soon for wear and tear.
