The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated while traveling at speeds of 45 mph, the vehicle stalled. The fuel gauge sensor failed causing inaccurate fuel level readings. The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that when he filled the fuel tank, the fuel gauge did not indicate that the tank was full. He then started noticing erratic readings and the check engine light illuminated. Failure Date: 02/01/2010

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Frontier. On February 1, 2010 he noticed that the fuel sensor gauge failed to display the correct amount of fuel in the tank for twenty minutes. Whenever there was a half of tank of gasoline in the vehicle, the fuel gauge didn't register that amount. He contacted the manufacturer and was advised that his VIN was not included in recall 10v075000 fuel system, gasoline storage, auxiliary tank, but he should take the vehicle to the dealer to be diagnosed. A local mechanic diagnosed the failure and stated that fuel sensor caused the failure to occur; therefore, he refused to pay an additional diagnostic fee. The vehicle was not repaired and he will replace the vehicle if the manufacturer does not add his VIN to the recall. The failure mileage was 46,000 and the current mileage was 51,000.

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Frontier. In December 2009, he noticed, when filling the fuel tank, that the fuel gauge would give incorrect readings. It would show empty, then the correct reading and when the tank was half-full, would indicate another incorrect reading. He noticed the failure for a few months and then took the vehicle to the dealership. The dealer informed him that the failure was caused by the fuel gauge assembly, the packing fuel gauge was replaced at that time. He later filed a complaint with the manufacturer and was informed that his vehicle was not included in recall 10v075000 (fuel system, gasoline: storage: auxiliary tank). The failure mileage was approximately 52,000. The current mileage was approximately 57,000.

The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated the fuel level indicator failed in October 2008 and a local independent mechanic replaced the fuel gauge tank. The manufacturer was contacted and advised there was a recall in effect for the failure. The contact was told his vehicle was included in the recall and he would be reimbursed for the failure. Later, he received notification of NHTSA campaign id number 10v075000 (fuel system, gasoline: storage: auxillary tank) and took the vehicle to an authorized dealer. The dealer installed an o-ring and the fuel sending unit. The contact was not reimbursed for the initial repair and when contacting the manufacturer, he was told an agent would contact him at a later date in regards to reimbursement. The dealer diagnosed the failure as a defective fuel tank cap and replaced it accordingly but the failure persisted.
