All lights would illuminate on dashboard and vehicle would not start. The radio would turn on without any key in the ignition. This would only occur when raining outside and vehicle was parked. After an hour, the vehicle started but when taking the key out of the ignition, the vehicle would still remain running for about a minute or so before shutting off hard. Upon a quick inspection of the vehicle, it appeared the wires to the electrical system were hot, and I disconnected the battery to have it towed to avoid fire risk. I have a video of what the truck was doing. This occurred 4/10/16 and is back in the shop today- 4/29/16 for the same reason.

My car wouldn't start. Battery was fine. . Passengers had recently said that they noticed a fuel smell, but I can't smell (a physical handicap of mine). ; called aaa- it was then that we noticed that fuel was leaking out of the top of the gas tank, the fuel pump wire that supplies power to the fuel pump was broken. Car had to be towed to a local garage. Called Nissan dealer and he said 'your car is old, just replace the fuel tank. But, the design of the gas tank is such that there is a 'gully' where water gets trapped on the design of the top of the fuel tank. Nissan refuses to admit that this is a design flaw that is causing the top of the fuel tanks to corrode; and this is indeed a safety issue! as a mechanical engineer who specializes in metals, it is definitely a poor design; I have owned and worked on cars my entire life, and have never seen a fuel tank corrode through. All of the local mechanics/garages in my area tell me "this is a common problem in Nissan Frontiers- we fix them all of the time. ".

My 2007 Nissan Frontier has approximately 52,000 miles. Upon attempting to start the vehicle it would not start and I noticed that all the gauges on the instrument panel were all shaking. After jump starting the vehicle it started however I noticed the trip mileage was reset to "000. 0" and the "service engine soon" light was on. After shutting the engine and attempting to restart the vehicle it would not restart. When I attempt to start I hear a click click sound and all gauges would shake. I charged the battery and the problem subsided for a few weeks however the same problem listed above began to re-occur.

I owns a 2005 Nissan Frontier. When I attempted to start my vehicle it would not start. After several attempts and still would not start, I waited a few minutes. While I waited I check with the fuse box and check the termenal wires. Then I was able to start the vehicle. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they were unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was notified and informed her that the vehicle was not included in any related recalls. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure continued to recur intermittently. The failure mileage was 11000 and the current mileage was 11500.

Vehicle shuts completely down for no apparent reason. All electric fails and vehicle will not start for about 20-25 minutes. First incident happened on may 17, 2003. Vehicle towed to dealer and dealer could find nothing wrong. On may 29, 2003 vehicle shut down again in traffic. All electric failed again. Vehicle restarted after 20-25 minutes and driven to dealer. Dealer had vehicle for four days and replaced the ignition switch and harness. On June 11, 2003 vehicle shut off again. Vehicle restarted after 20-25 minutes. Will call dealer to state that shut down problem has not been fixed.
