3 Instrument Panel problem of the 2006 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 03/16/2009

Clutch failed suddenly on an I-95 onramp, total failure including flywheel. Just this Monday, my transmission completely disconnected from the engine at about 70mph on I-676 in center city philadelphia as a result of another clutch failure. I've been driving stick my entire life and this kind of sudden failure without warning does not strike me as normal. Also, I have the fuel gauge issue where it fails to correctly register the amount of gas in my tank. I'm the original owner of this truck and I wish I wasn't.

4 Instrument Panel problem of the 2005 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 03/15/2008

"I currently own a 2005 Nissan Frontier and had 1/4 of a tank of gas in my fuel tank and went to fill up. After filling up my gas tank, I turned on the car, at which point the needle did not register the full tank. After driving a couple miles, the check engine light came on. I went directly to the dealer and was told that it was a fuel sending unit/sensor and that it was no longer covered after 30k miles. After returning home and doing research, I went online to x. Nissanhelp. Com after performing a search, I came across countless others who have experienced the same problem. Apparently it has something to do with the fuel sending unit. A similar problem was found on the 2000-2004 xterra models and a recall was performed when the vehicle would stop after not getting any fuel, posing a great danger. It seems that something in the unit is faulty and will corrode over time. There is a general consensus that everyone who is having the problem is experiencing the same thing after having the vehicle for over 2 yrs and with around 39k-49k. If this problem existed in previous models, and it was recalled, the 2005-2007 xterras, Frontiers, and pathfinders should get this fixed at no charge to the customer!! why wait for accidents and possible deaths, especially since the problem lies in an integral part of the vehicle. Cost of repair ranges from $300-600. ".

1998 Nissan Frontier problems with the circuit board. Customer stated that the dealer would order a new board and went back a couple days later and was told they didn't make them anymore. 6 Instrument Panel problem of the 1998 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 09/01/2007

The circuit board behind the dash instruments that operates all of the dash board instruments on my 1998 Nissan pu has failed. The dealership could not obtain a new one and said that the part is no longer made. The pu has about 58000 miles on it but now I can not have it safety checked because none of the gauges on the dash work. I tried to get some positive response from the customer service in canada but enev after 4 calls -- nothing but a run a round.

7 Instrument Panel problem of the 1998 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 08/01/2007

The contact owns a 1998 Nissan Frontier. On September 1, 2007, the contact took the vehicle to the dealer because all of the instrument panel gauges were blank. He paid $900 for the repair and was informed that the circuit board would arrive the following day. After returning to the dealer several times, he was finally informed that the circuit board was unavailable and was no longer being made. The contact called the consumer affairs office of the manufacturer several times, but they have not responded. The vehicle is 8,000 miles over warranty and cannot pass state inspection. Nissan does not have the part and does not rebuild them any longer. The purchase date was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 58,000.

8 Instrument Panel problem of the 1998 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 04/15/2007

The problem is with my 1998 Nissan Frontier 4x4, the problem is the speedometer is not reading the correct speed, using a radar speed set up, and confirming with a gps, the reading on the speedometer significantly varies, holding the vehicle at a constant speed of 50 mph on the oem speedometer will generate actual vehicle speeds from 42mph to 66mph, my concern is more safety than a speeding ticket, basically the operator has no idea how fast the vehicle is going, sometimes the speedometer will jump and move, while at a constant speed, I have tried to purchase replacement parts from Nissan, and have made several inquiries on what to do about it without success, I have tried to purchase a used part as well, without success, the feed back I am getting from the field is that the 1998 and 1999 model Frontiers have a significant problem with the speedometer, which indicates to me there is a design flaw, this coupled with the safety issue, I feel that a investigation into this may be justified, it was only by observation that I detected this problem, there may be other Frontier drivers that are totally unaware that the speed on their speedometer is in error and could have a potentially dangerous result,.

9 Instrument Panel problem of the 2001 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 01/09/2007

At times, I lose all of my gauges and sometimes when that happens, I also lose all power. This creates a dangerous situation when traveling down a major highway. The other day I was on u. S. 25 south of greenville, SC, when it happened and I drove between 45 and 50 miles with no gauges. I had a doctors appointment in augusta, GA that I had waited several months to get so I had to go on. I have been told by a person that works at the Nissan dealership that this is common with the 2001 Nissan Frontier which is what I have. In checking, I am told that there is no recall for this which doesn't make sense.

10 Instrument Panel problem of the 2000 Nissan Frontier

Failure Date: 04/24/2006

My Nissan 2000 se 4x4 extended cab has around 27000 miles. I purchased it new from carmax on 6/9/2000. About six months after purchasing the truck I experienced a failure of the instrument panel. I notified my Nissan dealer but couldn't duplicate the problem. I've learned to live with the problem but it now occurs just about every time I drive. It turns off for about 10 minutes and then comes on again. My lights or other safety equipment are not affected by this failure. During the failure I can't tell how fast I'm driving.
