1 Engine Noise problem of the 2010 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 05/11/2015

My engine light came on yesterday morning car was stalling a little was driving in my neighborhood when my car started slowing down once I put my foot on the accelerator it started to make noises like a motorcycle and wouldn't move fast. Car stop on my street and we had to push it into my driveway. Now when I crank my car it makes the motorcycle noise for a few seconds and then goes away. Can't drive it but can change the gears with ease. Took it to a shop and stated that it is the transmission.

2 Engine Noise problem of the 2004 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 10/18/2011

The contact owns a 20004 Nissan Maxima. While at an independent mechanic for routine maintenance the contact was made aware of holes due to corrosion on the front driver and passenger side floor boards. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technicians stated the floor board had to be replaced. There was also a buzzing noise in the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated the timing chain had to be replaced. The timing chain was replaced; however, the floor board was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

3 Engine Noise problem of the 2007 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 06/18/2009

I'm having a high pitch whine coming especially from the passenger side. The pitch gets louder with rpm changes. It's constantly there, as soon as the car is on, whether the car is idling, accelerating or decelerating. This whine comes from the speakers, because when I disconnected the oem bose amplifier, the noise was gone. I believe this is known as the "alternator whine" so I changed a new alternator told by the dealer, and changed to another oem bose amplifier, but the "whine" still remains. The high pitch noise is very annoying and causes migraines.

5 Engine Noise problem of the 2004 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 07/01/2007

My timing chain started making noise at approximately 65,000 miles. When idling, I can hear the links in the engine. According to Nissan, it will cost me approximately $3,000 to $4,000 in labor alone to correct the problem.

6 Engine Noise problem of the 1999 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 02/11/2007

I have a potentially deadly problem with my 133,000-mile, 1999 Nissan Maxima. It might be related to the crank sensor on newer Maxima, a steering column lock, a faulty ignition switch, faulty clutch depression switch, and the anti-theft kill switch, perhaps even a random ground. The problem was conceivably catastrophic. Upon entering my car using the remote, occasionally the car won't respond, and must be unlocked manually. In these instances, neither the dome lights nor the headlights shine. When the ignition key is rotated to the start position, as the clutch is being depressed, sometimes the gauge lights appear and then quickly fade and disappear; the car just doesn't crank. A faint, diminishing telltale buzzing sound can be heard. What's worse, this can happen spontaneously while driving, in which case the car's steering wheel locks and the brakes become inoperable. I have had this happen on three occasions, twice while driving in a mall parking lot (February and March ã‚07) and the other time (just last week) while turning into my neighbor's driveway, to take out her oak tree. The ignition crank sensor must slip into an inoperable mode during driving or while attempting to start the car, or the anti-theft switch somehow interferes with starting, operation or driving. Maybe the master ignition coil is failing (but that doesn't explain the headlight and dome light problems). The clutch switch may not engage when its pedal is being depressed. Sometimes, I can restart the car after an incident in which it was parked for a while. My battery is brand new, and there don't seem to be any shorts as far as I can tell. But nothing electrically works (not even the radio) when I have to unlock the car manually. I am very concerned about driving the car beyond my neighborhood. I might have to become a hermit, or worse, a college professor. Any ideas? the car is in excellent shape otherwise and has all service records.

7 Engine Noise problem of the 2004 Nissan Maxima

Failure Date: 11/16/2006

The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Maxima. While driving the contact heard a buzzing sound which alerted him that the motor mounts were failing. The dealer stated that the engine motor mounts were torn , and the front and rear mounts on the cross member were replaced. Approximately one month later the contact heard the buzzing sound and felt the engine shifted. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. Approximately three months later the vehicle was taken to the dealer again. The dealer replaced the front and rear motor mounts. The contact continued to hear the buzzing sound. The dealer advised the contact to replace the transmission fluid, and the right front strut. However, the repair did not solve the failure. The dealer informed the contact that the ecm computer should be replaced. The buzzing sound continued and the manufacturer stated that they would have their technician inspect the vehicle. Presently, the technician has not inspected the vehicle. The current and failure mileages were 33,000. Update 5/3/tr.
