38 Seats problem of the 2005 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 12/13/2018

Driver seat collapsed on rear while driving. The base frame is a square that has a horizontal bar on the back and that broke on the left rear side that resulted in dipping on that side when seated and driving. This is unsafe !! no reason any metal that should have been welded should brake off.

39 Seats problem of the 2007 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 09/29/2018

Was concern about the seat it goes,up but leaks, down and ,rocks like it is broke, the airbag light keeps flashing and wont stop, jumpy accelertion, and replacing front brake can be costly. I bought this vehicle and according to internet by VIN# printed out no recalls, shows now I see it had recalls what can I do to get this taken care of? driving down the road the seat felt like it was changing the height and I had to keep readjusting it, I then stopped and went to get out and it rocked. I weigh 100lbs so I could not have broken it.

40 Seats problem of the 2007 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 09/06/2018

The drivers seat is very wobbly is not stable. Engine is making a noise unsure on how to describe and I believe there's undercarriage rusting and the car is getting wet inside when it rains.

41 Seats problem of the 2007 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 09/05/2018

My vehicle was not moving at the time the light started flashing. The passenger air bag "off" light does not work unless I move the connector under the front right passenger seat. Then the passenger air bag light will shut off after about 10 seconds. This is the same problem listed for the recall but my vehicle is not part of the recall. This seems to be a problem for many Murano's not included in the recall.

43 Seats problem of the 2007 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 08/05/2018

I got into the vehicle on the driver's side and heard a pop. I put the car in reverse and when the car moved I heard the pop again and the seat dropped on the left side. I parked, got out to examine the seat and a seat support had broken under the left rear side of the driver's seat causing the seat to drop, leaning to the left. Attempting to return home, when hitting any bump in the road the seat is almost like sitting in a rocking chair.

44 Seats problem of the 2007 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 07/26/2018

My 2007 Nissan muran has approx 125,000 miles. I have taken care of it. It has nice tires and the most recent 4wheel alignments where approx Jan and Feb 2018. For whatever reason I got in one day last summer and as soon as I was on the highway my seat felt as if I got push backward and my seat bracket had just broke, I now have bricks holding up my $28,000 ride! July 26, 2018 someone pulled into my driveway hitting my parked vehicle and quickly driving away. They hit it hard enough to dent the bumper and tow bar. I immediately could tell the rear end was way off. Progressive refuses to pay for this as they said my crossmember completely rusted through as well as some of my frame and some other parts. . They say if the vehicle had not had such a serious rust problem -which is not age appropriate to my vehicle-then it would not have broken in half towing my tires in as well from that hit. Coverage is voided like a poor workmanship deal! the shop I have it at right now says its so far gone it is seriously unsafe to drive. For myself and others. Due to Nissans premature rust issues my car is undriveable and my drivers seat isnt safe as well. Progressive auto insurance is refusing to stand by my full coverage policy and apparently are legally able to do so because the substandard parts give them that escape clause. I still owe on this vehicle. I really need Nissan to make this right as they have even made it so it was uninsurable as I paid and I never even knew it. I have my car in places for alignments, tires, oil changes etc etc and noone ever told me it was rusting or rusted away. The progressive agent had looked at my Murano upon the 1st inspection and never even told me about the danger I was in driving. Nissan has created a problem that has prompted my progressive adjuster to place my safety at risk so they can get out of paying. I took care of my car!.

45 Seats problem of the 2004 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 03/29/2018

On March 29, 2018 I sat down in my car and felt the drivers seat move downward for the first time. When I got home I exited the car and got back in the same thing happened again. There was no indication of anything being broken or out of place prior to the 29th of March. Additionally, I have not been in any accidents, nor has any one driven my car besides myself. As of today (April 2, 2018) I have taken my car to a mechanic for an estimate and will check with another repair shop on April 3, 2018.

46 Seats problem of the 2005 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 03/27/2018

The Nissan Murano driver seat bracket has cracked like every other person on this list has stated while my daughter was driving to and from work which she drives daily only 14 miles round trip. She goes between 30-45 miles per hour and while this crack occurred she was going about 35on a city street, she didn't loose control but the car did veer off to the side as who would expect your seat to partially collapse. Thank goodness the road was empty and she has no traffic to combat with. The NHTSA should care of the chance of death or accident from occurring not just what has happened, the complaints have been stated as being high by the NHTSA. Clearly Nissan USA should be liable if there are so many complaints that it is clear they have used a faulty part. A recall should be issued and protection for the consumers who have invested or chosen these car should be a priority not protection of big business. This is a component that shouldn't break if a properly constructed bracket was used. Having had 7 cars over my life from ranging in age from 20 years old to brand new none of them have ever had this issue and I am appalled that no one, not Nissan or the NHTSA cares about a poorly constructed product that is not what the consumer paid for and could lead to potential injury. I guess some more people have to get hurt or die for the NHTSA to care, quite sad when you look at it this way.

47 Seats problem of the 2007 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 03/15/2018

While driving I heard a popping grating sound under the driver seat . Seat twisted and sank on the left back section. I almost lost control of car. Upon ckecking the left back of the seat was moving up and down. Took it to body repair who sent me to upholsterer. He to me I have to get a seat. I ordered a used one online. So far it cost $425. 00. Waiting on it . Ihave invoice.

48 Seats problem of the 2011 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 03/13/2018

Update to previous NHTSA complaint #11078866. The cost to repair my car was over$5000 and could not justify the expense. After living with the faulty sensor for almost 2 years, it's time to replace the vehicle. I hoped for a recall to be issued but nothing yet. To trade in or sell this vehicle, it's obvious due to warning light on dash that there is a problem with airbags. I need to discount my vehicle value or repair this. After some inquiry, I've discovered that my part is now replaced by part number 873a2-3zg6a. This part is the replacement for model years 2011-2014 in all trim levels s, sv, sl, le. It is the entire passenger bottom seat and costs $3700 or more plus labor=over $5000 to fix. Even if I could afford to fix this issue, there are no parts available in the USA according to sutherlin Nissan of ft. Pierce FL. There is an apparent back order with no parts availability. To correct a seemingly similar part on a 2015 Murano might require 2 parts totalling perhaps $340 and appropriate labor this total should be significantly less than the quote to repair my vehicle. An online search of suggested Nissan Murano repairs for the passenger occupant classification sensor was about $300, quite a contrast to my anticipated repair expense. This is a known issue for Muranos and previous models have been recalled for this. I bought a Nissan certified used car, then added a gold level service plan to cover bumper to bumper and yet the airbag system and components are specifically excluded. This is a required safety device. Its failure has made my vehicle worthless, based on potential trade offers. I assume Nissan USA lost lots of money on the previous sensor recall campaign, and now they hope to recover some of those losses by passing that expense on unsuspecting customers. I think Nissan USA realizes this as a major problem and are attempting to conceal this fault.

49 Seats problem of the 2007 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 03/03/2018

Driving on a local highway doing about 35 to 40 mph. Put on brakes and the entire rear end began to vibrate and make a rumbling noise. The rear tires are leaning inward on both sides of the vehicles which throws off the stabalization of the vehicle making it unsafe and difficult to steer or stop. The entire stabalization bar and the mounting brackets supporting it rusted through on the left side and dislodged and the right side is ready to dislodge from the body at any time. There is nothing to support the bar so it can inadventerly fall and hit the highway and do damage to the undercarriage of the car or cause the vehicle to flip. My mechanic told me the vehicle is unsafe to drive. They called Nissan and of course no recall or assistance to fix the vehicle which is over 2000 dollars. The sun visor on the drivers side drops blocking your vision unexpectantly creating a vision issue and concentration issue while driving. The electrical motor on the drivers seat is starting to fail and the seat wobbles as it is being repositioned. Once repair are complete and I have invoices, I will upload them under a separate complaint.

52 Seats problem of the 2006 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 11/27/2017

I've been having a problem with the power driver's seat in my '06 Nissan Murano. It is loose and shifts side to side when I turn corners. I contacted my dealer and they said that the lifter link slide assembly was broken and would need to be replaced at the tune of $600. There is a TSB (technical service bulletin) out on this exact problem. Since my vehicle is out of warranty, Nissan north America has refused to fix it and therefore, own up to this safety issue. I would hate to see what would happen during a crash. I filed a complaint if you have had this same thing happen with your Nissan.

62 Seats problem of the 2017 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 01/12/2017

Hello, recently, I bought 2017 Nissan Murano platinum. After a month, I noticed that when I increase heated seat temperature to maximum, one half(right) side of front seat heating is very high and other half act not even 50%. I called Nissan dealer locally to look and investigate heating distribution issue. On the same time I called Nissan customer care and explain situation. I was told by customer care to report findings back to them based on dealership response. Dealership responded it is just a way design by Nissan for all Murano, there is nothing can be done. It's just a way it is. I feel helpless by Nissan overall experience. Nissan should be able to step up and looking into this issue to make sure heated seal heat distribution should be uniform, not like one half of seal get very high compare to other half. This is very poor design with respect to heated seat safety.

I exited a parking lot and while driving at approximately 20mph the drivers seat rear mounting bracket broke on the rear left side, the seat snapped back to the left side which nearly caused me to lose control of the vehicle. I've read on the forums that this is happening to nearly every single 2003 - 2007 Nissan Murano.

64 Seats problem of the 2007 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 12/19/2016

Last year my drivers side front seat anchor/bracket broke. Poor design. Rear sub frame rusted out resulting in the rear left wheel to nearly fall off while driving. This year my wife was advised by a person in a vehicle behind her that the rear wheel was ready to launch. Road salt caused rusting to sub frame body mount. Again poor design and material.

66 Seats problem of the 2016 Nissan Murano

Titanium edition - periodically on start up (stationary) of the car the seat will move forward, and sometimes the back will recline when this happens. The steering wheel will drop down a little bit and the seat memory and steering wheel will be reset to the position the seat moved to and the steering wheel dropped down to. This has been occurring since the vehicle was new and it also happened on my old Murano that was repurchased from me by Nissan. 26 occurrences in 34,000 miles.

67 Seats problem of the 2007 Nissan Murano

Failure Date: 10/19/2016

While getting in my car after work, the seat was all of a sudden unstable, leaning to the rear left. Upon further inspection, the bracket has broken in two places, which will need to be re-welded.
