1 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2016

Enjoying our Pathfinder one afternoon and went to pass a car and it would not kick inot passing gear. When we stopped I could smell that it was hot, but could not find a leak. After letting it cool, I checked the coolant level and found that grey froth in the radiator. A quick check on the internet lead me to me worst fear. I am still in the process of flushing radiator and getting quotes. Local aamco guy said that transmission is doomed, and they see a lot of these. $4,000 - 4500 to rebuild. So much money for such an easy repair had I known before the radiator gave up. No more Nissans for this family!.

3 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem

Failure Date: 02/26/2015

I just bought this SUV from a used car lot back on Feb 16th 2015 I started to notice a problem with the transmission shifting funny so I had a 3 month warranty from the used car lot I purchased it from. I took it to a Nissan dealership to have a dyno test,to figure out exactly what was going on. I get a call from them 2 hrs later saying the radiator bleed into the transmisson and was not lubing the gears properly switched caused the transmisson to sleep and as a result of this I need a new transmission for 6050. 00 for both +labor ext. I call the lot I purchased this from and he stays there is nothing he can do for me the 3 month power train warranty I have was void because the radiator caused the problem ive done my research on this problem over 600+ complaints and problems from this very same thing I will never buy another Nissan in my life.

4 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem

Failure Date: 11/27/2013

I was on expressway, driving approximately 60-65 miles per hour and without warning car lost all its ability to accelerate or maintain speed. Car engine would rev when you pressed on the accelerator but the car would not respond. Vehicles behind me had to hit on there brakes and go around me as I attempted to steer vehicle to the side of the expressway. Once vehicle came to a stop, my transmission would not engage in any gear leaving me stranded. I had to have vehicle towed to my home. I was informed by Nissan that engine coolant had leaked into my transmission and ruined my transmission. I have since found out this is a common problem on Nissan Pathfinders and the cost to repair vehicle is between 4 and 5 thousand dollars.

5 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem

Failure Date: 02/15/2013

My wife was driving with kids in the vehicle when power in the transmission when to nothing then sporadically started working and not. She intelligently was able to avoid an accident and get the vehicle to a side road in a boat ramp parking area where the vehicle would not run in any gear. I was called and made aware of the situation and called my parents to pick then up for this was our only vehicle of transportation. After work my dad, uncle and I had the vehicle towed to our home where it has set since. Due to finding out that Nissan already had a class action lawsuit over this and the ruling with the mileage on my vehicle does not fall into any compensation or assistance to be fixed though the vehicle is only six years old. Just don't understand how transmission failure on a busy road does not constitute a safety recall. My understanding of issue doesn't seem to be mileage related as much as time of the problem to happen.
