My vehicle air bag light came on the dashboard over the weekend as I was driving with my family. I contacted my dealer I purchased from to see if a recall existed. They informed me that my VIN number was not affected even though other Pathfinders did receive a recall. I believe mine should have one as well since this is a safety hazard to me and my family!!!!!.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the air bag indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the air bag indicator was interfered with by a kid's toy. The air bag was previously replaced a few months prior. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 70,000.
Received a recall for OCS sensor. Brought car into Nissan premier of metairie. After repairing sensor the passenger air bag light would not go out. Car was brought back to dealer. I was told the light was supposed to stay on and only go off if it detected someone in the seat. This does not sound correct. I did not have this problem prior to having the osc software put into my vehicle. Now the airbag light stays on constantly as though there is something wrong with the passenger air bag. The light comes on whenever I am driving the car and only goes off when an adult is sitting in the passenger seat.

I have received two safety recall notices from Nissan stating that I need to take my vehicle in to get a passenger airbag issue corrected. However, I took my car to auto nation Nissan about a month ago and was advised that they would have to order a part to fix this recall and they would call me when the part came in. They did not call me and after a few weeks I called back and was told that the part has not come in yet as there are so many vehicles that need this recall and Nissan does not have the parts to handle all of the requests. I was advised that someone would call me to discuss this and I never received that phone call. My son (weight about 105 lbs) is often in the front passenger seat and sometimes the airbag light is on and sometimes it is off, so I do not trust it to function properly in the event of an accident. I simply want to have this recall handled ASAP by Nissan. Please let me know if there is anything else that can be done. Thank you, rebecca winfrey.
Timing chain is messing up which its clear that all Nissan Pathfinders made from 2004-2010 have that problem as well as the automatic windows not working going up or down when using automatic as well as passenger airbag light going off randomly. Oh if it helps I worked at Nissan north America manufacturing and I can't even begin to tell you how managers would send defected parts to the line for assembly because they would always say "quantity over quality". Its a shame and I hope that this will help push to hold Nissan responsible to fix what they already knew was bad.

Since the day we bought this brand new 2013 Nissan Pathfinder vehicle the orange passenger side airbag light stays illuminated almost all of the time while passenger is in the front seat. We have taken the vehicle to cherry hill Nissan dealership at least 4 times complaining about the passenger airbag light being on even with an adult passenger sitting in the front seat. (and then with no one sitting in the seat - sometimes the light is on, sometimes it is off) all those times I got an explanation that it is just a software glinch and they try some fix that does not work. They updated the computer software but to date almost every single time there is a passenger in the seat the airbag light will come on. I'm just worried that if the vehicle will get in an accident and someone is sitting in the front, that someone is not protected from the impact. I have called Nissan consumer affairs who told me not to let anyone sit in front seat - that's not a very good solution and for the cost of the vehicle I should be able to allow people to sit in my front seat especially when due to the # of people I need to use the front seat.

I purchased the vehicle in July, 2015. The passenger side airbag light came on several times while a passenger was in the front seat shortly after I got the car. During my first routine service appointment on Feb. 1, 2016 I mentioned it to the service tech and they checked but couldn't replicate the problem. However, they performed a zero reset at that time. The airbag light came on again on 3/11, 4/9, and 4/30 while a passenger of proper weight and height was seating in the seat. Additionally, on 4/20 the seat belt indicator light was lit in the instrument panel even though there was no passenger in the car and the driver was buckled up. I took it back to the service station today, 5/7, for these problems. They stated that there are no open recalls on my vehicle and they couldn't duplicate the problem. This is now the second time my car has been in for service for the same problem and nothing was found to be wrong. I now drive with my cellphone next to me and take pictures every time this occurs.
Airbag light shows that there is no passenger in the seat when a adult sits in the seat.
Airbag light started flashing about a year and a half now and now the horn has stop working because of the air bag.
The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder. When the contact attempted to start the vehicle, the air bag light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the front crash zone sensor code b1033 failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 08v690000 (air bags). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 134,000.
Vehicle has been to dealer twice for this issue and issue remains: air bag light remains on when 100 to 300 lb person sitting in passenger seat. Have received interim owner notification on NHTSA recall 16v-244. When I contacted two dealers about fixing the problem they tell me that parts aren't available. When contacting Nissan safety I am told parts will ship at the end of August. Am I to not carry a passenger until then? unacceptable. I use this vehicle for work and need to have people ride in the front seat.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Pathfinder. While driving various speeds, the air bag warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 98,050.

I just purchased my vehicle last week. When I bought the vehicle the airbag light was on and even when someone was in the passenger seat. The airbag light was still on stating the passenger airbag was turned off. I was advised there is a recall out for this issue. This situation seems similar to a couple other recalls on the 2013 Pathfinders. I'm unsure if the repairs were done before I purchased the vehicle but if they were the issue still remains. Since there are no open recalls from my vehicle. Either my vehicle wasn't included in the recalls or the repairs were attempted but the problem remains. I just want the vehicle to be safe for me and my family.
Tl-the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph, the front driver's side curtain air bag inadvertently deployed. After the failure occurred the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was driven with caution to the destination. There was personal injury. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000. Js.
"takata recall" out of the clear blue I was driving my 2007 Pathfinder and the airbag light came on, I took it to the dealership immediately that day and it passed per service manager louis castillo at baker jackson Nissan in houston texas, 2 days later the light came back on and once again I went to the dealer ship and was told that the sensors and other parts needed to be replaced the cost is $1500. I called Nissan corp and they are refusing to taking responsibility even though they stated all 2007 Pathfinders in other states would be given a 10 year warranty. My truck was also affected with the radiator flulid mixing with the transmission fluid, during the years of 2010-2012 I constantly took my truck to baker jackson Nissan and the service manager then larry just topped off my truck himself and never made a record of it. He kept assuring me that he was saving me money. My transmission failed but because of the mileage in 2012 Nissan was able to deny fixing my transmission via the class action lawsuit. I ended up spending $4800 for a new transmission. In 2010 Nissan convinced me to replace my train for $1600, I never knew it was a recall until today. Another caveat to this mess is that baker jackson changed their computer system and has no record of me replacing my train. I have a bank statement to prove it if necessary.

Vehicle stalls at various times while driving, will not accelerate while pressing on gas pedal. Has now happened 6 times in 3 months. Stalled also, while on cruise control going downhill and would not engage until on level surface for 15 seconds, lost 35 mph during this incident. Passenger side front airbag light is illuminated indicating that no one is in seat while seat is occupied. I have several photos and dates of this particular problem.
Takata recall while the vehicle has been in motion, the airbag light has remained on several times while the seat has been occupied. 7 attempts at repair have been attempted, including replacing parts and updating sensors. I have all repair documents from 2 Nissan dealerships along with Nissans' letter and email that they were not in a position to help me.
Passenger side airbag off light stays on while driving with a passenger in the seat. Vehicle has to be stopped and restarted to reset the airbag light.
Took car in because airbag light was staying on with an adult sitting in the passenger seat while the car was bother stationary and in motion. Dealer updated software and light went out for a couple of weeks. Then I had the same problem intermitently. I took the car back in, they tried to update the software again but it wouldn't work. The dealer said the only solution was to replace the OCS, but they said they would do it at cost. I thought that if it was a safety concern the maufacturer was to repair it at their cost not mine.
The airbag sensor does not consistently acknowledge there is a passenger sitting in the front passenger seat. There has been a previous recall (14v138000) for this exact issue but doesn't include my VIN. My local dealership (peoria Nissan) refused to do anything to the car since it wasn't impacted by the recall. They told me to contact Nissan corporate. I contacted Nissan consumer affairs (case # 20615944) and they told me the reason the airbag sensor doesn't recognize a passenger is because my wife weighs 120 lbs. The vehicle isn't designed to pick up an individual of that stature 100% of the time. I believe this is completely ridiculous and they just don't want to expand their previous recall. I'm in fear for the safety of my wife who routinely sits in that seat and isn't recognized by the airbag. This happens both after starting the vehicle or while driving down the road (airbag light randomly comes on identifying not in use).
Purchased in may 2015. Within a month of ownership, airbag light on passenger side would not engage intermittently if passenger was seated in car before started. I just had the passenger wait until car was started to sit. In July the airbag light began to illuminate while driving intermittently with passenger in seat. Serviced it at the dealership in the beginning of August and they said they found a code and cleared it. Problem should be resolved. It happened again several times. Serviced it at the dealer again in July. Mechanic performed a zero point OCS reprogram. Again I was told the problem should be resolved. Problem continued. Checked it in for service in October. Dealer trying to say the person in the seat is too light. It's happened to adults that weigh over 150 and many times to my daughter who weighs at least 110. This shouldn't be a problem anyway since the service tech told me the minimum weight is 70 pounds for the front passenger seat. Dealer wants to give us the car back. We refused because it's not safe. Waiting to hear back from the dealer. This same dealership took back our 2014 Nissan Pathfinder because of this issue too! I have many videos of the problem.
The passenger side airbag light remains illuminated when a adult is sitting in the seat with their seatbelt on. I brought it into the service center at Nissan and they told me the computer says nothing is wrong so there is nothing they can do! I have numerous videos of the seat occupied and the light on!.
The passenger side airbag light stayed lit with a 250 lb passenger in the seat until we reached our destination. We reported it to the dealership, they could not find any problems, and couldn't duplicate it. It usually happens if the passenger gets in as the car is being started.
We were driving the Pathfinder and the passenger airbag light came on. There was a passenger in the seat. The passenger's weight is 165 pounds and approximately 5'6" tall. The light remained on for approximately4 minutes and only went off when the car was turned off. When the car was restarted the airbag light was off - as it should be. This is the second Nissan Pathfinder that has had this problem. Our 2013 Pathfinder was re-purchased by Nissan for this exact reason.
Takata recall hello, I received a safety recall letter from Nissan to have my airbags inspected. I went in and left with no issues and no repair was done, just an inspection. Two months later the airbag light started blinking. I called them and asked that they fix it. They said it will cost me $150 to diagnose the problem. I stated that they caused the problem during their inspection as it was working just fine until then. They refused to fix the problem the created. This is obviously a scam to get more money out of consumers for an unnecessary repair. What can I do to get them to fix the problem for free? I have been driving the vehicle around for two years with the issue. I have contacted the dealer multiple times, complained and now that my son is to drive the vehicle I need this addressed and you are my last effort. Thanks michael adamson.
