I was driving on hwy and I went to go around a curve and my steering wheel locked up I went off the road and came to a stop looking up at the bridge. When I went off the road my truck hit a hill (it hit around by my radiator) my truck then flipped and then hit another hill (hit by my radiator again) and came to a stop. My airbag didnt not deploy until my truck stop moving. And my seat belt did not lock me in place. I was slung around my front seat. I had to try to hold myself in my seat with my legs (pushing up on my steering wheel) I hit my head on my steering wheel, my window and my roof. I have a cracked femur from my steering wheel. And 2 compressed disks in my back. . When I realized my truck wasnt turning into the curve I hit my brakes but it didnt do anything bc my tires came off the ground and when it stopped I was on the creek bank.

I started seeing the airbag indicator flashing on my dashboard. I took it to Nissan car dealer. They told me that there was a water bottle that rolled under the passenger seat and caused the sensor to break. I believe that is a bad design from Nissan, that allows a critical sensor to break easily by a soft water bottle that rolled under the seat, cause the airbag not to deploy, which can cause serious injuries to me or a family member sitting in the passenger seat. There is a recall already related to that sensor, that can cause the airbag not to deploy, but I think protecting the sensor under the seat is a very serious issue, that needs to be investigated. I was driving the vehicle for sometime before noticing that there might be an airbag issue.

The hood on my vehicle flew open while driving 40 mph down the road. Nissan fixed the issue. The passenger airbag does not work when someone is sitting in passenger seat under 130 lbs. I got a recall notification. I have called Nissan to have them fix this 3 times and they tell me they don't have the part. My husband weighs 128 lbs and the airbag does not detect him sitting in the passenger seat. If I were to get in a wreck the airbag will not deploy with my husband sitting in front passenger seat. I have told Nissan this numerous times but they say they cannot get the part in. I think that is very dangerous.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 15 mph, the vehicle was crashed into the front driver's side of another vehicle. The front passenger's side air bag failed to deploy with the impact involved. The contact sustained a bump to the forehead as a result of the driver's side air bag deployment and bruises to the body that required medical attention. A police report was filed. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 16v244000 (air bags) however, the required part was unavailable to perform the recall repair. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000. The VIN was not available.
The contact owns a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle crashed into a tree. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed and there were no injuries sustained. The vehicle was able to be driven away from the scene. In addition, the power steering malfunctioned on several occasions. The contact stated that the steering wheel became very difficult to steer left or right. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the crash or the power steering failure. The failure mileage was 176,548.

The computer in my 2014 Nissan Pathfinder continued to present difficulties. These malfunctions were documented with Nissan and the computer was in fact replaced. We were in negotiations with Nissan to warranty the computer with the powertrain warranty. On April 1, 2016 my wife started the vehicle in the driveway and went inside to let it warm up. When she went out (approximately 10 minutes later) the vehicle was gone. It had slipped into drive on its own and gone straight down into the woods, taking out two trees and hitting a telephone pole at the bottom of the hill. The airbags did not deploy. Nissan's finding were that the black box within the vehicle did not show anything and, therefore, they were not taking responsibility for it. We have all the documentation for the difficulties with the vehicle leading up the collision.
Our 2015 Pathfinder has an issue where when the passenger seat is occupied with an adult passenger, the passenger side airbag will not activate. (indicator light for pass airbag off is illuminated) sometimes it will activate after several minutes of driving, other times it will not activate until the car is turned off and back on again. Also, sometimes if the seat is not occupied, the passenger side airbag will be activated. We notified the dealership of the issue during a service in late 2015 and we were told that the passenger should wait to enter the vehicle until the vehicle is started. There wasn't any change regardless of how we entered the vehicle. We took the car to the dealership for diagnosis in early 2016 and they didn't find any diagnostic issues. They "reset" the passenger seat weight sensor and said everything was good. Today we drove the vehicle and the passenger side air bag did not activate again with a passenger occupying the seat. This could be a serious safety issue if the air bag does not deploy in an accident.
I was in a 40mph car accidenot and my front airbags did not deploy.

Passenger air bag light (which indicates air bag is off and will not deploy) remains on (>50% of the time) when there is an adult seated in the passenger seat. Took vehicle into the Nissan fox dealership (grand rapids, mi) this morning for service. Before assessing, they told me they probably won't find anything and that I should rely on my seat belt in case of an accident. This first occurred about 2 months ago.
The contact owns a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while driving at 75 mph, a deer jumped into the road causing the contact to crash into it. The air bags failed to deploy. There was no injuries sustained and there was a police report filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.
2005 Nissan Pathfinder, vehicle rolled and the air bags did not deploy.
The passenger side airbag light was staying on in my car, I took it to ray shultens and they put in new sensors and recalibrated the seat. The day after the repair as we were driving on the interstate I noticed the light was on and my son was in the seat. Him shifting in the seat did not change anything and the light stayed on which indicates the airbags will not deploy on the passenger side if we were in an accident. I had to pull off the interstate, have him get out and restart the car. This happened again this past weekend with myself as the passenger ( grown adult 5'6", 140 lbs). Today I took it into the dealership for repair, but was told they couldnt come up with any diagnostic codes and " that this is how the system works, there is no weight limitation on the system and if you shift in the seats it could turn off the airbag, and that this is normal and how the system was designed". I am concerned for the safety anyone driving in this car as a passenger. It is unbelievable to me that this can be considered "normal". This is a safety issue and my car should have a passenger side airbag in it that works!.
I was involved in a roll over accident and neither the driver or passenger airbags deployed. The side airbags did. The vehicle went head first into the ditch and then flipped over. The vehicle was recalled for the passenger airbag after I first bought it and supposedly "fixed. " obviously not. The driver side airbag did not deploy either. My Pathfinder is a total loss. This is definitely an issue. This vehicle has also had multiple other issues including the engine coils, transmission computer and finally the whole transmission has been replaced. Terrible in the snow and vibrates like crazy! this vehicle is obviously unsafe and garbage!.
Passengers airbag light came on showing air bag off even thou passanger seat was occupied. Light has came on at least twice since then while passenger seat was occupied. I had the same problem with a 2013 Pathfinder which was replaced with the 2014. In the event of a crash this could result in more serious injuries or death if air bag did not deploy.
Tl-the contact owns a 2003 nissian Pathfinder. The contact received a notification of nhsta campaign number:14v361000 (air bag). The contact stated while driving at 55 mph, the driver side tire blew out. The vehicle crashed into the barrier on the freeway. The contact suffered from back pain injury and numbness in the arm and hand. Medical attention was required. A police report was filed. The vehicle was not destroyed. There was damage on the driver and rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed. The airbags did not deploy for driver and passenger. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 78,558. Jb.

I have had my vehicle in on three seperate occasions for the passenger side air bag sensor coming on while a person over 100# is sitting in the passenger seat. The sensor light says that the air bag is off while a person is sitting in the seat. They have reset the sensor several times and it is still not fixed. I am concerned that if I get in an accident my passenger (usually my daughter) will not be safe because there is a chance that the air bag will not deploy. I was told by the service advisor that if I was that worried or concerned that I shouldn't have anyone sit in that seat and just have them ride in the middle row or the back row. Who would spend $28,000. 00 on a vehicle and not have it safe?? I was appalled when the service advisor told me this. This will be my last Nissan I ever purchase. I asked them to replace the sensors and was told that Nissan would not authorize this repair because they don't know why the sensor is not working. The computer does not register fault codes. I have taken several pictures with different people sitting in the seat while the sensor light is on indicating the air bag is off.
After stopping at stop sign and turning. The airbag indicator light started flashing. Took it to the dearlership it was bought from. They "repaired" the problem. After traveling less than 2 miles from dealerships, the light started back flashing. I returned to dealership. They wanted to know if I had wrecked the vehicle. I have not. After 2 hrs, they said I would have to replace the spiral cable and it was not covered by the extended warranty. It would be close to 600 dollars. I was also told that if an accident were to occur, my airbags would not deploy. I feel this is a safety issue that should be addressed. That is like telling someone the seatbelt in their car will not work. Not everyone has that kind of money to spend these days.

My 2013 Nissan Pathfinder was involved in a side impact accident on may 11th, 2014. Three occupants of my mv were injured, including myself. There was a recall on the passenger side air bags. With this recall the side passenger airbags would fail to deploy in a side impact accident. After may 11, 2014, I took my 2013 Pathfinder to lia Nissan in enfield, CT, to have my airbags inspected to see if they operated properly in the accident. Without inspecting the vehicle, the female service tech. /manager told me that they would surely have operated properly in the accident as designed. The service employee stated I needed to have my vehicle repaired so they could perform the recall on the passenger airbags/air bag sensor. They would not inspect the airbag system. Damage to the 2013 Pathfinder included frame damage, both passenger doors were inoperable and had to be replaced. The front passenger seat frame was replaced as it was bent in the accident. Mv was repainted. After the repairs, I was still having issues with the passenger airbag light staying on indicating the airbags were off. At various normal service (oil changes etc. . . ) I informed Nissan techs about the passenger airbag light. I was given this advice from the service tech. If the light comes on again turn the mv on and off to reset the sensor. March 2015 after reading the article regarding the NHTSA investigation into these same issues. I again took my mv to lia Nissan in enfield, CT. To inquire about the passenger airbag light being still on. They told me the issue was fixed with the recall and even if the passenger (airbag off) light is on, the air bags would still work properly. The technician said the proper "off" indicator was the airbag light in the instrument panel. I was then advised again to turn my mv off then on to reset the sensor. I do not consider this issue to be resolved.
Within a few week of purchasing the vehicle we received a recall on the air bags concerning the passenger air bag and a small person. This was performed. Later the warning light would come on when my wife, 106 pounds, was riding as a passenger. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and they had it for a few days and I believe replaced something. The problem continued, intermittently, when my wife sat in the passenger seat. I returned the car to a dealer two weeks ago and all they did was give me several sheets of papers, mostly from the handbook, about how the person must sit in the seat, in the center with their back against the seat back, feet on the floor, the heater fan off and even if the air bag did not deploy they were still well protected. They also said, in so many words, that this was all they were allowed to do. In other words Nissan was not going to do anything. To expensive I guess. A friend of ours works for Nissan and told us that Nissan is well aware of this problem and has no plans to do anything about it. He also indicated that it was just not a Pathfinder problem. So we have a thirty thousand dollar car and my wife has to sit in the back seat to be really save, or risk injury or death if we have a crash and the air bag does not deploy.
While driving the vehicle, the front passenger "air bag off" light illuminates while an adult is in the passenger seat. The light stays on until the engine was turned off. This happened 4 times and the vehicle has 2000 miles and rarely has a passenger in the front passenger seat. The "air bag off" light illuminates to indicate when the passenger air bag is turned off. If the vehicle was in a crash at this time, the passenger air bag may not deploy. The vehicle was brought to the dealer for repairs, but the dealer could not duplicate the problem.
I recently purchased a new 2013 Nissan Pathfinder sl. The first day that I sat in the front passenger seat (day 2 of ownership), while my husband was driving, the front passenger air bag light illuminated stating that the air bag was off and would not deploy in a crash. I called the dealership and they stated that it was a known calibration problem with the Pathfinder's seat sensors and that there was no recall on my car, but that it needed to be recalibrated, which it was. After having the car back for 1 week, the air bag light would come on intermittently while I was sitting in the front passenger seat even though I was seated "properly" as described in the user's manual. The car went back to the dealer and even though there was no recall on my particular car, they replaced the seat sensors because it was a "safety issue. " two weeks after having the car back the light is once again coming on when I sit normal and upright in the passenger seat. The head technician at the dealership is now telling me that the car is acting in my best interest to intermittently turn off the airbag light when I am seated in the front passenger seat because of my size. I am a 5'4, 120 lb female. I feel that if I am sitting upright in the center of the seat, as a normal size adult, the airbag should not be disengaged. If it is calibrated to disengage for a 120lb adult seated properly, then it should consistently do so, not intermittently turn on and off without a change in position. Nissan has told me that it is functioning properly and there is nothing more that can be done.
Tl-the contact owns a 2002 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while making a left hand turn, another vehicle crashed into the passenger's side of his vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. The police report was filed and no injuries. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. However, the repairs had not been done. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was unavailable. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000. Ne.

Air bag light sensor came on and keeps flashing. Just started the car and the sensor light kept flashing. Took to Nissan for oil change and told them airbag sensor light keeps flashing. They advised me that it was going to cost $800 to fix and the airbag would not deploy until it was repaired.
Noticed a few months ago that the light for the front passenger air bag was off when an adult was sitting in the front. I took it in for an oil change and the Nissan dealer said that the front air bag sensor in the seat was defective. So the air bag will not deploy if in an accident because it doesn't register that someone is there.
The air bag sensor in the passenger seat is not registering a occupant sitting in the seat. This has occurred several times. The first time did register a airbag malfunction light. The local service department downloaded the fault and cleared it and their response was if this happens again bring it back in. It has happened several times since then but not airbag malfunction light on the dash. The airbag off light will remain on for over a minute. I have several videos of the passenger sitting in the seat while the vehicle is moving and still Nissan refuses to do anything but say look at the owners manual for safe seating positions. I do not want my wife to be injured more as a result of the airbag not deploying. Nissan needs to get this problem sorted out. At this point I don't even want this vehicle anymore.
The contact owns a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the vehicle crashed into another vehicle. The contact stated that upon impact, the air bags did not deploy and the vehicle was destroyed. The contact sustained injuries to the left rotator cuff and an concussion. The manufacturer was notified and sent someone to look at the vehicle who stated that the crash was not significant enough for the air bags to deploy. The failure mileage was 170,000.
