The component that is malfunctioning is the emblem on the airbags. Nissan has known of this issue for a while. In the event of a crash, when the airbags deploy, the emblem will also explode with the airbags and send shrapnel from it flying towards the driver and nearby passengers. If the crash wouldn't kill the driver, then this issue could as it could hit the driver in a vital part. They are taking too long to fix this issue, as it is such a vital problem that can cost people their lives.

The passenger airbag doesn’t activate at all. The OCS sensor is faulty. When someone sits in the front passenger seat, the airbag remains off. This is a known defect with Nissan Pathfinders. We were told ours will not be fixed as our VIN is not included in the recall. However, this exact defect is known and has been recalled in hundreds of thousands Nissan Pathfinders, including the 2016 model year. Not fixing this can result in death or dismemberment in the case of a collision in which the airbags should deploy and do not. After much correspondence with Nissan, they refuse to pay to fix this know defect because our specific VIN was not included. We are asking to include our VIN in this know defect recall.

Car stalled out and won't restart.
Air bag front impact sensor has failed due to road salt. Not covered under recall because someone doesn't think virginia uses road salt.
The airbag is rattling and clicking. Safety issue. Took to local Nissan dealership. They advise me the appointment they had an available was a month out. Issue raises serious concern for safety and possible airbag deployment.

While pushing the auto button to slid the passenger front seat to vacuum the floor carpet the airbag sensor broke off. This made the airbag system to be non operational on the front passerenger seat putting any passenger in danger with no airbags. Poor design of such an important safety system that just sliding the seat would break such an important part!.

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that while driving approximately 15 mph, the passenger side front, middle and rear curtain air bags were erroneously deployed causing the vehicle to abruptly shut off. During the failure, the driver sustained burns to both arms and hands which did not require medical treatment. The contact indicated that the vehicle did not crash into another vehicle or object to cause the air bags to deploy. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 150,000.
Passenger side airbag does not show as engage due to a faulty (OCS) sensor per inspection by Nissan dealership names #1 cochran. This is a known problem covered under Nissan's recall pc216. This recall was performed on the vehicle in 2017. The sensor is faulty again. The fix that Nissan proposed is not a long term correction of the problem. Obviously, if the vehicle is involved in an accident with my wife in the passenger seat the airbag would not work due to a faulty sensor that registers no one being present in the passenger seat.
Passenger airbag sensor indicates seat is empty even though someone is sitting in it. Have not had it checked yet. Going this week.
There was a vehicle at a complete stop doing an illegal left turn, the car behind him was able to swerve around him but I was not able to I hit the brakes twice all the way down and the car did not stop. At the impact the air bags did not deploy. There were not skid marks on the road either, making me believe that the brakes did not do its job. The vehicle is now at the shop waiting for my insurance adjuster to let me know what the next step is. I just spent $5,000 on the transmission just to have this issue arise, luckily my family and I were not seriously injured but it left my kids traumatized. No warnings were issued before the crash.
Our vehicle has 22,000 miles and the air bag sensor on the front passenger side has malfunctioned. The passenger air bag light stays on and flashes on the dash board. After being diagnosed at a local car shop they advised the vehicle would be unsafe for a passenger to sit on that side and even with weight distributed on the seat, light stays on indicating the no airbag. As the vehicle does not have much mileage this has become a huge safety concern for myself and family. We would like to acknowledge that this is a defect of the vehicle and hope for a proposed recall for safety.

The passenger side air bag light will light up thaymt it is disables when a passenger is occupying the seat. It will not go off to indicate that the airbag is turned on foe the seat occupant until I turn the car off and restart. May have to repeat a couple times or have passenger step out of car, sit back on seat and reconnect lap belt.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the brakes were replaced. The contact stated that she had also replaced the tires; however, the failure persisted. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 13v445000 (service brakes, hydraulic, electrical system); however, the VIN was not included. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing inaccurate fuel gauge reading. The contact stated that while driving, the vehicle would shut off due to lack of fuel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where an unknown repair was completed. The contact also stated that the vehicle was experiencing an electrical failure. The contact stated that the headlights and the interior lights would become dim and would flicker intermittently. Additionally, the power train warning light illuminated intermittently. The 2nd row seats (captain chairs) are tilted upward at edge of seats and my infant carseat is not leveled as it should be. Due to the chairs seat being tilted upward causes child carseat level to be off and making carseat tilt forward causing babies head to go forward more than they should. Passenger seat is also very low causing concerns for airbag deployment and serious injury to face. Low viability in rear mirror due to large long headrests.

On this day, 1 November 2021, the srs warning lamp began flashing on my 2008 Nissan Pathfinder. Is there a recall notification from the manufacturer that covers this as a manufacturers' repair?.

Passenger side air bag indicator is off all the time even with an adult in the seat. The red blinking indicator light flashes for the air bag on the control panel. The air bag cannot be manually turned on or off. If in a crash I do not know if the air bag will deploy. Your site shows 0 recalls other sites show a sensor recall. What do I do?.
When I purchased this vehicle I quickly noticed a feature or standard that this vehicle has concerning passenger safety vs airbag on/off there is a lamp beside the display area that indicates if the pass bags are on (lamp is off) or if they are off (lamp is on) if the passenger is under a certain amount the airbag turns itself off. . . At least that was my observation for at least 4 months after purchase. This standard/feature isn't working anymore I guess? because the lamp is always on stating that the passenger airbags are off. I notified the dealership, they said they could not inspect the issue unless I paid for their time and then service (fix of the issue).
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the air bag warning light illuminated. He also stated that the OCS sensor failed to recognize an occupant seated in the passenger’s side seat, which would cause the air bag to become inoperable. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed him that there were no recalls on the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA campaign number: 15v681000 (air bags) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 149,989.
I recently purchased a 2013 Pathfinder with 71,000 miles. My 2013 Pathfinder has a faulty OCS. The red airbag light is illuminated on the dashboard that will not go off. It also has the passenger airbag light illuminated whether a person is sitting in the passenger seat or not. This light does not go off when an adult is sitting in the seat. There is a recall on 2013 Pathfinders for this problem but my VIN is not showing a recall for this problem even though it has the same issue.
Passenger side airbag light is always on (passenger or not) indicating that the passenger side airbag is off. Also, when there is no passenger in the seat, the red airbag light flashes. However, when there is a passenger in the seat, the red airbag light is not on.
The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated while starting the vehicle, the front passenger’s side air bag and the "solid air bag #2" warning lights were illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the air bag sensor to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 13v069000 (air bags) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 102,000.
My dashboard has a logo of a red flashing passenger with a airbag red ball. It flashes non stop when ever I turn on the ignition. However when I checked for air bag recall it's not coming up on the list. Any suggestions?.

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the control buttons located on steering wheel and the horn were no longer operable. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the clockspring assembly needed to be replaced. The local dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in an unknown recall associated to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that he needed to purchase the part and pay out-of-pocket for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 78,823.
It's turn on emergency light.
On 21 Dec 2020 we were in a accident with a deer we wear going about 80mph when the dear came out of no wear and we hit it head on and neither one of the air bags deployed my husband hit his head on steering wheel and neither one the airbags deployed I was sitting in passenger seat and nothing either this was on the highway at night time.
Is turn on light emergency to airbags . The car it is in home.
Was in accident moving about 10 miles per hour and slowing as approaching light on a local city street. Car trued to pass illegally on left. I moved right to avoid and hit car in front of me at very slow speed. No visible damage to frint end. Driver airbag opened in a partially defkated manner. Should not even have opened . Especially incorrectly.
When you move front seats forward or back the airbag sensor under the seats breaks. The air bag off light is always lit up for passenger seat even when adult sits there, and the drivers airbag light is blinking on dashboard all the time. A week after buying vehicle I took it back to dealer and they said it was a recall and it was fixed. A week later it was back on I went back and they said nothing they can do it was already fixed. Nissan dealership told me same thing. It is not fixed and now I am paying car payments for a car I can't get an inspection sticker on, so I can't drive it. If it was a recall and they claim to have fixed it and the same problem happens again it should be fixed with an improved part so it don't happen again. The dealership also told me with those lights on there is a possibility of the airbags going off for no reason or they may not go off when in an accident. This is a serious problem and needs to be taken seriously but instead I am being told I need to pay for the recalled problem because they fixed it once already. Clearly they didn't fix it properly or at all but my VIN number says it was done.
