I was driving slowly in perfect weather conditions in heavy traffic. I was far back from the car in front of me I then realized that the car in front of me had no taillights and was stopped , I stepped on the brakes and my brakes shimmied kind of like I was hydroplaining on water and then I hit the vehicle in front of me. The vehicle ran even though I hit them. This caused over 7,000 dollars worth of damage to my car and whiplash to me. Also a police officer saw the accident and he even said he saw how far away I was and did not understand why I did not stop. I am a parallel and I have already found that this is a safety issue Nissan needs to be responsible for and if they are not I will take them to court. Thank you for looking in to this. My husband is also a us marine serving in iraq and we bought this vehicle because he wanted me to be safe therefore I hope Nissan will take responsibility and fix these cars.

I have had two incidents of sudden unintended acceleration while applying the brake at low speeds. With foot on brake rear tires spun and when placed in neutral engine reved to 4500 rmps for about 5 seconds then returned to normal. Second incident resulted in vehicle going through red light at intersection with a near collision with another vehicle. Vehicle inspected by dealer who claims they cannot "duplicate problem. " consumer rep. For Nissan said that they would do nothing else unless the auto is in an accident.

There is some shaking in front end between 55 mph and 70 mph. Contacted dealer 8 times, but so far no remedy. Also, the brakes continuously roar or skip.
Excessive effort needed to engage braking system. When traveling at higher than 30 mph speeds or when vehicle load is heavy, driver has to depress brake pedal all way to floor to get the braking system to engage. The manufacturer representative inspected the brakes and indicated to be normal.
There is an extremely long amount of brake pedal travel( approx 1/2 way to floor) before the brakes engage. Also, after the brakes engage it requires a lot of pressure to stop the vehicle. This occurs on almost every time I engage the brakes.
Brakes felt very spongy which caused extended stopping distance and MA y result in a crash. Dealer said it was the characterisict of vehicle. Pedal movement before brakes engage was excessive. Consumer have to pump pedal before the brakes become firm.
Abs brake systems should be removed from automobiles or the owner should be able to have them removed.
When applying absbrakes they do not engage. Cause unknown. Dealer has yet to bee contacted. Please provide any further information.
When I tried to accelerate my vehicle, the gas pedal will sometimes stick and when I get enough pressure on the pedal it will then lurch the vehicle forward. The brakes squeal continuously when the weather is above freezing. I have had it in numerous times to the local Nissan dealer and they can not find anything wrong with them. The vehicle's abs systems seems to grab before it should when the ground is dry with gravel or there is snow or ice on the ground. Eems to.

Traveling at about 55 mph in a right hand lane with the cruise control engaged, driver felt something odd in the left front of the vehicle, as if the driver-side front wheel collapsed. This was accompanied by the steering wheel turning sharply to the right and a loud "bang" under the vehicle in the vicinity of the left front suspension; the driver struggled to keep the vehicle on the road, but it was nonetheless pulled to the right, across the shoulder and into a ditch running paralllel to the road; after dropping into the ditch the vehicle continued to veer to the right and began climbing an embankment; the driver managed to pull the steering wheel hard to the left and point the vehicle back toward the road; as the vehicle moved down the embankment and back into the ditch, the front undercarriage of the vehicle bottomed out where the ditch ended at a driveway , which runs perpendicular to route 50, into a farm; the vehicle bounced back onto the road and crossed the two eastbound lanes; the driver managed to straighten the vehicle out in the center of the grass median and attempted to stop the vehicle; when applying the brakes, it was clear that they were inoperative, the pedal went completely to the floor, and as the driver glanced at the speedometer the vehicle was still traveling about 50 mph, a full quarter mile from where the incident began. Then the cruise control was still engaged, and was not being triggered "off" by application of the brakes. The steering wheel was still pulling hard to the right and the driver continued to struggle to keep the vehicle straight. But know the vehicle was starting to spin counter-clockwise, which caused the vehicle to leave the median area and spin twice ( 720 degrees ) into the oncoming traffic lanes. The vehicle finally stalled and came to rest pointing eastbound in the westbound left lane.
While driving on an incline vehicle suddenly surged forward. Owner applied the brakes, the cable broke, causing the vehicle to collide into another vehicle. The dealer and the manufacturer has been notified.

Coming down a hill, applied the abs brakes and they locked up twice, once resulting in an accident. This happened twice on same road .
Abs problem; on any kind of damp or grit road, in a normal situation, when applying the brakes, the abs system kicks, but the vehicle requires more stopping distance. This incident caused a crash on 4. 24/97. Vehicle has been at dealer since 6/1/97 to correct problem.
When driving vehicle on wet road conditions, the vehicle will hydroplane and abs brakes lock up.
The anti-lock brakes do not work on wet pavement, the vehicle skids and will not stop. A monitor was installed for the abs and it still did not solve the problem.
The consumer stated that dearlership changed her vehicle from four- wheel drive to two- wheel drive without her permission. The problems is the vehicle cannot pull on hills, and the anti-lock brake system doesn't kick in on dry or wet pavement.

Problems started at 2,600 miles. Tires needed to be replaced at 3,000, car shakes between 45 and 60 mph. Brakes vibrate when applied, and car shimmys to a stop. Vehicle had $6,000. 00 in repairs to fix a rear end thump. Front end "bottoms out" when going over large bumps, new struts were installed ,now problem is worse. Vibration noise is non-fixable according to Nissan. Nissan service claims all problems are inherent to the vehicle.
When applying abs brakes the pedal travels to the floor, causing extended stopping distance, cause unknown. Dealer cannot identify the problem.
Sometimes, the abs does not stop the truck on gravel roads. When applying the brakes, the brakes lock up, causing the SUV to slide. The dealer is aware of the problem. Dealer could not find a problem with the abs. Around 8/15/98 consumer applied the brakes, and the SUV would not stop, continued to slide and crashed into a electric gate on consumer's property.
