1 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 01/13/2021

Vehicle began making a clacking sound in front of motor intermittantly (like playing cards in bike spokes). This noise occured when stationary and in motion, city and highway speeds/locations. Mechanic determined that bearings in double fan assemby was the cause and had to be replaced. Vehicle was a 40,600 miles when part failed. Fan assembly was on backorder at the dealership. Replaced with an aftermarket fan assembly, total cost $629. Xx.

2 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 11/22/2019

2015 Nissan Pathfinder was purchase two months ago with only 48569 miles it's started making a loud ticking noise when ac and heat is on. Turn out fan is going out. Very annoying and the car is not that old. I heard there were recalled but for some reason the VIN says it has 0 recalls which I think is the makers fault. Need to fix and I will still have to pay out of pocket when I'm making payment on this vehicle. Very disappointed.

3 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 06/03/2019

Bearings on electric fans going out checked the internet and this seems to be a common problem with fans. Makes a loud clicking noise when engine gets to running temp.

4 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2016 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 12/31/2018

Loud clicking noise in the engine both while driving and idling in park. After researching it, I found out that is the fan hitting the shroud and it needs to be replaced. The part is anywhere from $200-600 and that doesn't include labor. I bought this car brand new, always kept up on the maintenance and of course my extended warranty ran out last week and now this happens. :(.

5 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 04/02/2016

A few things have been happening with my 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. I bought this vehicle brand new Feb 2013 and the issues stared right away. The one thing that has been happening is the car feels like it¿s going to stall. I will be driving down the road or on the highway and it feels like it is in neutral all of the sudden. I will press the gas pedal all the way to the floor and nothing. When turning into traffic or just turning period, it does the same thing. It is very scary. I have 2 young children and this is very dangerous. I have reported the problem numerous times to the dealership who claims they fixed the problem or did not notice any problems I was describing. It seems to be getting worse as the vehicle ages. Just the other day I was driving on the highway when not only was I experiencing this happening while driving 75 mph but my cruise control wouldn¿t engage (I thought maybe this would help keep the car at the right speed) but it wouldn¿t turn on . Then the abs & vdc lights turned on. When I got home I turned the car off and turned it back on and the lights were no longer on. Next time I tried the cruise control it worked. Another thing that has been happening is my brake lights will stay on when the car is turned off, not every time but many times and there have been times I didn¿t catch it. Just this morning my battery was dead and the battery is only a few months old. I¿m thinking these lights stayed on all night. Before trying to jump-start my battery, with the vehicle off, there was a clicking sound coming from the far right of the engine. We were able to jump start my car and it has been working fine today so far but I have an appointment at the dealer, yet again, for these issues.

6 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2005 Nissan Pathfinder

Failure Date: 01/06/2014

The vehicle engine timing chain had made a slight "whirring" sound for many months - nothing really loud enough to cause alarm, but noticeable. Then when idling the vehicle in my driveway, the engine began to whine loudly, and then all of a sudden the engine lost power and began to emit a loud slapping/ clunking sound. The problem is that the timing chain has failed and the chain is slapping around inside of the timing cover. I was lucky that the vehicle was idling in my driveway at the time! there are thousands of reported incidents to be found on the internet where Nissan owners have reported that timing chains have failed, and some owners in California have filed a class-action lawsuit to force Nissan to acknowledge this factory defect. Nissan knows about this problem - there are factory service bulletins to repair this problem, but no recall. This engine defect is dangerous - engine failure on busy NY / NJ / CT highways can be life-threatening!! why is the Nissan timing chain defect not deemed a mandatory factory defect recall?? as a former mechanic, I can say with confidence that modern vehicle engine timing chains can be reasonably expected to last the life of the engine! timing chains are not considered a regular maintenance item! not only does timing chain failure put the vehicle passengers in extreme danger, but is very expensive to repair. Why should consumers have to bear the financial responsibility to repair a factory defect? at this time the vehicle is sitting "dead" in my driveway - I do not have $2000 required to repair the factory defective timing chain assembly! please force Nissan to recall and repair their defective timing chains!!!.
