Our Nissan Pathfinder 2016 was suddenly making loud noise which was coming from the front (engine area). The dealer diagnosed that replacement of fan shroud is necessary and that's expensive. We send car for regular maintenance, what else we can do!! the miles on my car is above 50000 and that's when I came across this problem. I have never had this kind of problem in any of my cars so far. This is something to do from the manufacturing side.

The ac and heat fan makes loud sounds started in summer 2017. It's so loud that I have to turn it completely off now.
I heard a rubbing sound and the passenger side front brake was acting unusual so I took my truck to my mechanic assuming it needed brakes. When the driver front wheel was taken off it was ovious that my brake pad was fine. It was noted that my tires were wearing unevenly and it was also very very ovious that the entire wheel wheel area was corroded, rusted and missing. There was a extremely large hole being the wheel area. Looking further it was noted that the steering column was rubbing against a part of the engine area. That explains the rubbing sound and diffuculty turning the wheel. It was also noted that the suspension was rotted and that the engine measured around 2 inches lower as it was leaning on the drivers side. I was told by my mechanic that the damage was so extensive that it could not be repaired. There wasn't any metal available under the truck to even weld any reinforcement to. The truck was unsafe to drive and to take it to Nissan. We never went any further with an inspection of the passenger side ect. I did take it to Nissan in the afternoon and was called the following morning and told my truck was fixed. I was told they replaced the strut on the drivers side and put some fiberglass underneath the truck. They did say that it passed their 100 and something point safety check. They never addressed anything else. I have been without transportation for a week now.

I was driving down a residential street and came to a stop light. Once the light turned green I eased off the brakes and push the gas. It jerked and it moved very slowly making a loud noise. I started smelling something burning. Had to get it towed to a shop and the mechanic called me yesterday afternoon and told me the transmisson was gone. Now I'm looking to have to pay $3000 for a transmission.
Going about 30mph, in traffic, with family inside, the vehicle suddenly lost power. It started to shake and vibrate. The engine also started making a loud noise. Drove it to the Nissan dealership. They could not find anything obvious and quoted a cost of $250 to simply investigate further. We agreed. They came back and said the engine camshaft and timing chain needs to be replaced. Estimated cost $2500! they could not explain why or how this could have happened to a core engine component. They *think* some misalignment of the timing chain might have caused it. We didn't have a choice but to get the repairs done. They also had to replace the engine coolant for some reason. My research shows that there have been several timing chain issues reported that have caused cam/engine failures on same/similar Nissan models/engines. There is also a class-action lawsuit being prepared to hold Nissan accountable for these defects and repairs.

The engine looses power when driving. I took it to a mechanic and he told me that Pathfinder transmission tend to fail or go bad. Transmissions on car should last longer. The Pathfinder there has been cases where at 100,000 miles it already needs a new transmission. My Pathfinder makes a loud noise when im driving. Sometimes it takes a while for it to go at a normal speed. This should not be happening at this point. Nissan should tend to this problem and fix it.
