39 Electrical System problem of the 2006 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 06/12/2016

I purchase a used Nissan Quest in June 2016 couple weeks later the air bag light starts flashing. Another thing is the cluster that reads over hearing and miles flashes and twitches. My vehicle at the time of purchase had 121,246 miles I'm the second owner. I took to courtesy Nissan and was told that the flashing airbag light is nothing to worry about, but I have seen several reviews and complaints about the airbags and can't stop worrying since this is a family vehicle. Another issue with the vehicle is the sensors and timing chain gave up soon. Also at to replace air conditioning system. This has been a hole in my pocket since I purchased. States there is a recall but I'm not sure.

41 Electrical System problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 03/12/2016

My instrument panel no longer works at all. I can not tell how much gas I have, read my (which affects my ability to get an oil change anywhere) , and my temperature gauge. I have ran out of gas in negative temps with kids in the car. I have attempted to buy a new instrument panel, the cost is over $300. Once I finally saved the money I was told by Nissan that the part was discontinued! I have researched this issue and discovered I am only one of hundreds with same issue!.

42 Electrical System problem of the 2007 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 03/02/2016

I received a check engine light on my Quest and the fuel gauge hand was not working properly. I would fill it up and the gas hand would go to full and then as I would drive it would drop down to empty for a while and back to full for while as I would drive. I took it to my local dealership and they stated it was the fuel pump. I had a fuel pump put on by and independent mechanic but the check engine light was still on so I took it back to the dealership and they stated that it was the fuel pump but I told them I replaced that and they then stated it was the sending unit, I told them my local mechanic checked the sending unit and he said that the connectivity was good on the sending unit. The local dealership then ran more diagnostic and said it was dash that caused the problem and not the fuel pump. I had the dash replaced and the fuel gauge is now stuck on full. I have read several other forums with people that have had the same problem as I. I believe this needs to be looked into as a recall as it seems to be affecting a lot of people.

43 Electrical System problem of the 2007 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 02/15/2016

I had a problem with the timing chain fixed paid a lot of money and it's doing it again my mechanic said this specific vehicle has this problem.

44 Electrical System problem of the 2012 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 01/25/2016

Though my vehicle was not subject to a recall I had the same issue as the other vehicles that had been recalled. With 40 miles left to go, according to my gauge, my vehicle stalled in traffic, on two different occasions, while turning left into gas stations. When I presented this issue to a dealer and to Nissan America I was told my vehicle was not subject to a recall, even though it was for the same problem and required the same repair as the recalled vehicles. I was charged over $300 for reprogramming my computer.

45 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 01/19/2016

Electronic sliding doors do not stop and retreat when a full size male is standing in the door way. With full force the man is pushed out of the way even as he is putting his full weight into the vehicle. The only way to get the door to stop is to react quickly and push the door open/close button.

46 Electrical System problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 01/09/2016

Car fire. Our minivan was parked, the engine shutoff and the keys were removed from the ignition. The car sat for three hours in very cold weather in a residential neighborhood. Based on the videos, it appears the electrical system started sparking and set the engine area on fire. Eventually the cab was on fire and the entire minivan was burned and completely lost. It took 7 minutes for the fire department to arrive and an additional 11 minutes for the firemen to extinguish the raging fire. All this was caught on a neighbor's security camera. The video files are over 5 mb so this website will not allow me to upload the video files. I should also mention we drove the van earlier in the day without problems.

47 Electrical System problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 10/14/2015

The gauges for the current mileage, fuel, temperature are all going in and out. This issue makes it almost impossible to know how much fuel is in the car, so I just keep putting in $15-$20 every couple of days to keep it full (where the amount is able to be seen). I make sure there is antifreeze in the radiator and the reserve bottle as well. Keep the oil changed regularly also.

48 Electrical System problem of the 2007 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 09/02/2015

When you start to take off at stop sign or red light the transmission jerks an knocks when it starts changing gears . An sometimes cuts the engine off sometimes inmiddle of traffic. <my two grankids have to ride inn this poj >.

49 Electrical System problem of the 2007 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 08/17/2015

I was driving from pekin to work in peoria and noticed that I had a little less than 1/4 tank of fuel so I figured I would be able to get gas on the way home. When I checked the trip gage it said that I had 8 miles to go before I ran out of gas. That is a huge difference than what my gas gauge said. I stopped and got gas immediately and while doing so I noticed that it took 17 gallons of gas. If it had actually had a 1/4 tank in it there is no way that I should be able to put 17 gallons of gas in an 18 gallon tank. I have called my Nissan dealership about it and was told there was no recollection of this being an issue. This isn't the first time it has happened but I cannot remember the first time it happened. Since this has been happening I have been keeping track of my mileage and filling up according to my mileage records. I hope this can get fixed soon I am a mother and the last thing I would want to happen is to get stranded on the side of the road with my baby in the car because of an error that wasn't my fault.

50 Electrical System problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 08/05/2015

Nissan Quest cluster loses ability to moniter fuel and temperature , which caused me to run out of fuel while travelling at a speed of 55mph. After researching online I see there is a repair but how does the dealer not see an issue with this problem. The lcd screen essentially peel away from the screen due to heat or humidity . I see this as a danger and I feel it puts my family along with others in danger .

51 Electrical System problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 06/15/2015

Alarm beeps when set but does not sound if car is broken into. Car was parked. Power sliding door does not always shut when power button is pushed. Does not always lock and latch as well. Door flew open while driving on the freeway. Also when closing does not stop if someone is in the way. Caught my four yr old daughter's leg and shut on it. Tire pressure light constantly comes on even when tires are completely aired up. Back rear door does not always open whether button inside van or remote key is pushed. Has to forcefully be opened and shut. Sometimes will slam shut and it has fallen on my back before. Many electrical functions within the dash and console do not always work or register. Does not register for oil, coolant, or temp.

52 Electrical System problem of the 2009 Nissan Quest

Odometer , gas gauge. Temperature gauge, stopped working, on the left side of dash making the vehicle not be able to pass inspection.

55 Electrical System problem of the 2007 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 12/05/2014

Fuel level gauge says a little less than 1/4 tank when fuel tank is empty. This inaccurate fuel level gage has stranded my wife 5 times since we've had the vehicle. Last time it was right after passing a truck on a two lane road, creating an unsafe condition.

56 Electrical System problem of the 2007 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 11/11/2014

This is further to my complaint about incorrect fuel gauge reading and running out of gas three times when both the fuel gauge and digital display have told me that I had between 80 and 130 miles of travel left to travel. Low fuel or reserve light never illuminated. My service light came on and I connected my car MD reader to the vehicle data connection and ran the diagnostic on it came back with the following report. I hope this will help, stored codes are conditions that your vehicle reported after your check engine light was set. Carmd uses these codes to accurately identify a most likely repair or "cure". Retrieved diagnostic code: p0462 technical definition: fuel level sensor a circuit low input generic definition: this fault code indicates the comprehensive component monitor (ccm) has detected a malfunction in the fuel level sensor circuit. The signal from the sensor was lower than the minimum expected value for a predetermined period of time for the driving conditions present when the code was set. The fuel level sensor monitors the amount of fuel in the fuel tank. A float arm attached to a variable resistor changes position as the fuel level changes. When the fuel level in the tank is high (the float is ¿up) the resistance is low; as the fuel level drops (the float moves ¿down), resistance increases. The signal from the fuel level sensor is supplied to the vehicle¿s fuel gauge to provide an indication of the amount of fuel in the fuel tank. Additional resources in some instances your vehicle's manufacturer may issue a technical service bulletin (TSB) to address this problem. (?) issued TSB? TSB not available maybe this will resolve the issue now with the safety factor and faulty fuel reading due to component product failure. To me this seems that a this will be $700 repair bill for a 25c part.

57 Electrical System problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 10/12/2014

My battery keeps going dead if the van sits more then a day. I took it to a local mechanic but he could not find the problem. When I picked up my van the left side of the dash does not work. I looked up complaints on the computer and they are the same as mine. The ecm has rusted because of the placement in the van 2004 throught 2009 are in the same place. I called Nissan but the said they had no idea what I was talking about that I could not believe every thing I read on the internet. This is bad because now I can not get my van inspected because the dash does not work. I need my van to go to work. It cuts off for no reason. I cannot tell how much gas I have. I can tell how many miles I have that was the second thing that went. The first was the radio. They told me at Nissan that I had to take it to a Nissan mechanic but I can not afford $110. 00 an hour. This should be a recall because all 2004 to 2009 van are made this way and are have electrical problems. Please help.

58 Electrical System problem of the 2008 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 10/10/2014

Ever since I purchase my Nissan Quest 2008 last year on October 26, 2013. My cd doesn't work. It keeps ejecting the cd out and no music, I might say. Also, everytime I turn on my van, the radio works, then in a few minutes it blows out the music. Then a buzzing sounds starts to happen. The passenger window doesn't go up all the way. As I press the button to go up, the window comes down half way. I have to constantly press the window button. Little by little so the window can close. My air conditioner takes forever to get cool. Instead of cool air, it blows warm air. I am very upset, because I am still paying for this Nissan Quest. I have all the car fax, given to me by the car dealer and it says the car has no problems and its in complete great conditions. And that it had only one recall reported by the second owner. On March 3, 2010 the manufacturer recall was #pc039 arm?ttn brake pin ntb10-030 and they repaired it for free to that owner. Please inform me ASAP what should I do or if this can be resolve immediately. I carry children in my vehicle all the time. How can I take care of this. Thank you.

59 Electrical System problem of the 2007 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 09/15/2014

On more than one occasion my wife and young son became stranded by the vehicle running out of gas while the gas gauge read up to 3/8 of a tank and onboard computer told us 60+ miles remaining before empty. I see this has happened to others and my experiences mirror those that are already reported. Hopefully the investigation will proceed quickly and this matter will be resolved soon so I can trust this vehicle again.

60 Electrical System problem of the 2007 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 09/01/2014

While driving the vehicle at approximately 35mph the engine suddenly stopped running and the vehicle drifted to a stop. All attempts t restart the vehicle failed. The gas gauge indicated that the fuel tank had approximately 1/3 of a tank of gas remaining. I spent just a few minute searching the internet for people having similar problems with the same make and model (2007 Nissan Quest). The search uncovered lots of complaints about faulty gas gauges indicating improper fuel levels. So I poured a few gallons of gas into the fuel system and the vehicle started. I have since had the vehicle quit running 2 more times under similar circumstances. Each time more fuel is added and the vehicle starts with no trouble.

61 Electrical System problem of the 2007 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 08/11/2014

Gas gauge read that I had 1/4 of tank of gas. I did not have any. I had to call aaa for assistance. Since then, my gas gauge has not been accurate. I will need to have it serviced.

62 Electrical System problem of the 2007 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 08/01/2014

First time, I was driving on busy traffic and looked at the gas gauge and it displayed another 40-50 miles to gas/fuel empty, but my Quest died as it ran out of gas; I had no warning or light came on. Second time, I was on the freeway driving at 60 mph and looked at the gas gauge and it displayed another 50-60 miles to gas/fuel empty; I felt my Quest was going to stop, so I was lucky to get out of freeway and my Quest died right after (out of gas). For both occasion, I had children on the van and extremely concerned that this issue just happen all of the sudden. For safety concerns, I took my Quest to auto mechanic and they confirmed that the fuel/gauge was not working and got it repaired.

63 Electrical System problem of the 2005 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 07/28/2014

While driving the instrument panel goes in and out making it difficult to see speed, fuel level, temp, turning signals, rpms, and everything else necessary to drive safely. Sometimes while the panel comes back to working properly it enables the overdrive causing the engine to jolt while driving. During research I found there are too many complaints from other people that are experiencing the same issue and dealers quoting them in the 700- thousands of dollars to fix, this should be a recall and a free repair as this is a safety issue and it's affecting too many vehicles.

64 Electrical System problem of the 2006 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 07/21/2014

I was driving with my kids and gas gaduag was showing full but the car stopped in the middle of the road . I had to call road side assistance and the guy told me the was not gas in the car. Since than it happens with me twice. After researching on internet I leared that this is very common problem in Nissan Quest modles. I called Nissan but they refused to help me.

65 Electrical System problem of the 2012 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 07/10/2014

May 2014, I had a wet driver side a pillar that was leaking. Nissan attributed it to a defective sunroof with a crack. The headliner, subwoofer and amplifier were replaced. On July 10, 2015, I took my car to a flagship carwash. After my car was washed I noticed water on the right side of the rear sunroof and on the headliner in the rear of the vehicle on both the right and left sides of the car was wet in all the above noted locations. My radio also stopped working. Nissan had my car for five days and said they could not recreate the leak or determine what was wrong with the radio. They would not look at the radio as it was not under warranty. I took my car to a local radio repair shop and they discovered rust behind the panels in the rear of the vehicle, in the cargo area and 2 inches of water under my cargo area. Vehicle was purchased Feb 2013 new.

66 Electrical System problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 05/31/2014

Drove it to a park about 1:00 p. M. Stayed there til about 3:00 pm got home parked in in front of house on street. Went in back yard for a bbq about 20 to 30 minutes later noticed it started to smoke under hood toward the rear of engine compartment on passenger side about where pass. Feet would be or behind glove box. Within 5 minutes we had flames and by the time the fire dept got here it was a total loss.

68 Electrical System problem of the 2005 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 03/14/2014

My wife notified me that while driving to work, our van a 2005 niissan Quest 3. 5 s, without warning completely shut off leaving her stranded in the middle of traffic. After a few minutes and several attempts she was able to restart the vehicle and return home. On another occasion while I was driving the vehicle around town I experienced a similar incident when again without warning the van shut completely off as I was approaching an intersection on a red light. After bringing the vehicle to a complete stop without braking assist or power steering it restarted after a few attempts. During both incidences the vehicle had a full tank of fuel and showed no indications of trouble.

69 Electrical System problem of the 2004 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 02/07/2014

My van indicated a problem with a mil on the dash. After getting it tested the code indicated an issue with a vent valve p0447. I replaced the suggested part and it did not fix the problem. After researching the issue, I focused my attention on the ecm as it controls all the sensors in the vehicle. I removed the ecm and noticed rust and corrosion right away. Nissan does not consider it be a defect, however the ecm is mounted under the leaf screen where water is supposed to drain. Upon removing the cover to the ecm it was discovered that the corrosion from the water ate away at the metal and created a hole in the sealed ecm and allowed water to get and cause damage to the circuit board. My problem was only 1 sensor, but it won't pass required emission in my state. There were some reports of drivability issues by others that had the dealer tell them they need the ecm replaced and it was not covered under warranty. This is a design flaw and should be replaced by the manufacturer.

70 Electrical System problem of the 2013 Nissan Quest

Failure Date: 01/27/2014

Ipod connection first went out. Said "check connected device". Then the display screen started going out. Would either not come on at all, then come on later, or short out while driving which also caused dvd to not work as well.
