On may 31st 2025 car hesitated to start about 5min before starting but no warning signals. Car has been struggling to start multiple times since then and on Tuesday 06/27/2025 car did not want to start again and had a warning of engine malfunction power reduced service now with a lot of beeping. I took it by autozone and was told they were unable to reach it to check it ( not sure what that meant) so he recommended switching out the keyfob battery to see if that would help but the vehicle is still hesitant to start and then sometimes the vehicle does not drive correctly. Photo listed is from 06/27/2025 when the vehicle finally showed a warning sign.

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the front passenger air bag warning indicator remained illuminated even with a passenger seated in the passenger seat. The vehicle was taken to grenada Nissan (located at 2105 sunset dr, grenada, ms 38901, (662) 226-2116) where it was diagnosed that the body combination switch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 92,019.
I was purchased a nissa vehicle from weston Nissan at Dec 2018, after few months Nissan corporate called me that they need to take back to switch to another one, ends up I found out the car is not original from japan it was defective one with aftermarket air bag, and all wires from air bag has been cutting before the sold to me, the car still seating my garage with no driving, I would like to know if I can get my money back since this is not the originals as what they said, I m worried to drive so I decided not to drive it, thanks again.

Some 2008 Nissan Rogues were recalled for the passenger seat airbag sensor not working and causing the entire airbag system not to work. This recall was not applied to my VIN but I have diagnosed through a Nissan dealership that I have the same issue. Nissan will not help to cover the costs of repair. Our passenger seat airbag sensor switched to off, will no longer turn on and our srs light is on.

The front passenger air bag indicator light lights up on car start indicating airbag is switched off despite the fact there is an adult passenger occupying the seat. Happens intermittently , passenger range from son, wife , friends, weighing from 120 to 290 pounds with height of 5. 1 to 5. 9 feet . The problem is bypassed or re-mediated by forcing the driver to stop pullover and then stop and start the car to activate the airbag on the passenger side. If the car is in the garage it is easy to stop and start (the engine) to get rid of this issue but when I am picking up someone from school or office it is a hassle and a danger as the bag is not activated unless it is observed and remediation process done (stop and start the car engine). The issue does not happen when the car is in motion. It only takes place when we offload or get someone in the passenger seat (front) in stationary , park or with brakes on and in drive gear on-boarding a passenger,. On going issue since past 8 months.

Well my car is in the shop for repairs to my passenger airbag sensor for the 5th time and again the loaner they gave me (a different from the first Rogue that had this same problem) has the passenger air bag off switch on while an adult is sitting in the seat. I have a video of this vehicle, 2 videos of the first Rogue that was given to me, and have 3 videos of my altima still doing it. I just received a phone call that my car was staying longer than expected because they replaced the sensors but now can not get them to set or reset. Nissan has a truly big problem with these sensors and the government needs to make them do a recall on all the sensors!.
While I took my car into the shop for an airbag issue I am having. The loaner car which is the 2013 Nissan Rogue has the same problem. While driving with an adult in the passenger seat the passenger airbag switch turns off. I have video evidence of this for this vehicle. 2 videos of 2 seperate occasions. And 4 videos of my 2013 altims doint the same thing. Even with me sitting in the seat at 180lbs the light switch would turn off. This is a very big safety issue and Nissan needs to have it fixed!.
The current airbag fault is the exact same as the late model Rogue seat cushion switch fault recall, but our model VIN is not included in the recall. We were stone walled at car pro's burien Nissan in washington state. They were happy to offer a $2000 fix even though it happened after only 8k miles. We were appalled at their callous disregard for our safety especially since we bought it brand new. It was a little while before we were able to able to get it into the dealer due to heavy business travel at the time. Basically we have been forced to drive around a car without functioning airbags for years now while waiting for the recall to extend to our vehicle!.
So shortly after purchasing this vehicle brand new the passenger side air bag would deactivate when sat in. As was this a very intermitant problem and would not do it when we had time to take it back to the dealer the car now has 30,000 miles on it and now when nobody is sitting in the seat the air bag stays on at all time, and when sat in it deactivates. I took it back to the dealership at 29,000 miles and they said due to the age it was out of warranty and it would cost a lot of mony to replace the entire seat cushion. They saw I had my iphone on the seat and said that that is probably the reason for the failure. Ok so a pressure switch is hurt by a phone? I see there was a recall for 2008 units and wonder if this should apply to 2009 as well as this air bag not deploying my result in serious injury. It is now may 2013 and this issue has been now verified by the dealer and under 36000 mile warranty, why is there not a longer warranty on such a serious safety issue?.

Vehicle is an 2008 Rogue not in your database. I used an altima for processing passenger airbag randomly turning itself off when female adult of 110 pounds is properly seated and buckled. Happens intermittently and system tests at dealership are not revealing faulty sensors.
Air bags:on-off switch assembly passenger airbag turns off when passenger is seated; indicator light illuminates at highway speeds.
