7 Warning Light On problem of the 2010 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 09/02/2020

The air bag warning light began flashing. Brought it to an auto mechanic who reset it, ran code and found out that the occupant classification system (OCS) control unit in passenger seat was the code it was throwing. Told me that it was not sending the right signal to the airbag. To fix the problem it would cost me $2500. 00 to get a brand new seat with the OCS unit. The airbag warning light does not stop flashing and resetting it does no good. I now have no airbag for passenger side. This is a dangerous situation. These vehicles had recalls on this system for the years. I was told that vehicles from 2008 to 2016 with these sytems were affected. Vehicles with VIN numbers jn8as5. . . . . I checked for a recall on my 2010 Nissan Rogue and found none, yet I am reading that there has been recalls on 2010. What is going on? why hasn't someone addressed this safety issue?? it will cost me $2500. 00 to fix this and if I do not fix this my car will be worth considerably less. I still owe $5,000. 00!!! I am thoroughly disgusted. This happened at around 105000 miles. No accident or large bump, all on its' own.

21 Warning Light On problem of the 2011 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 01/15/2019

There have been numerous complaints made about the passenger side air bag defect in the 2011 Nissan rouge. My car failed the state inspection because the air bag light was blinking on the dash board. I took my car to the Nissan dealership as no one else was able too. Nissan informed me that the air bag sensor in the passenger seat was malfunctioning and would have to be replaced. The only way to replace the sensor is to completely replace the passenger side seat at a price of $2,000. If the sensor is so buried in the passenger seat that the entire seat has to be replaced, then that is a factory defect and is Nissan's responsibility to fix it at their expense. You would think that with all the complaints and the fact that this is a major safety hazard, Nissan would want to recall and have this problem fixed! of course, then they couldn't collect $2,000 for every seat replaced for this defect. The warning light just started blinking about a month ago, but who knows how long the air bag has been defective , maybe the light doesn't blink until it is critical because the air bag button always showed the air bag as off no matter how big or small the person sitting in the seat was. This is a safety hazard and attention should be paid!.

I've noticed that even an adult passanger is seated on the front passanger seat, a yellow airbag light on the center console, and at the very same time, a red warning light on the dash comes on,and remains on. Took car to universal city Nissan, but they did not service it. They did indicate that the sensor is faulty and does need repair. And estimate$1200 to repair. I do not understand, it seems a safty matter, and I believe it shoul be covered by my warranty. Please help me find out why I have to drive around worried if this safety device will not cause injury, or and accident,or accidental deployment. The lights were reset by Nissan, but as I drove a block, the light activated with an adult in the seat. I want Nissan to put it in writeing, if they can reasure me that this is not a safty issue.
