Failure Date: 09/01/2023

Air baglight on dash is on and passenger airbags have been off. The first correction to this was when I bought my car 4 years ago and last week the red light came on and the passenger off sign. It has been faulty for a while was well I have had it repaired by Nissan first the 988 cibtroller assy occupant sen , now they want to put a seat track/sendor and track frame assemplyas well as an occ sensor control unit. I feel the airbag system in this car has never worked correctly and is unsafe for any passenger in my car. VIN#jn1bj1cr2hw142545 Nissan 2017 Rogue sport.

6 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2014 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 01/17/2020

The airbag sensor on the passenger side has been diagnosed by a Nissan dealership as inoperable and needs to be replaced. The car has only 58k miles on it. Clearly the fence from the first recall which effected thousands of other 2014-2017 Nissan Rogues needs to be expanded. A passenger sitting in the front passenger position of the car is not going to be protected by frontal airbags.

8 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2011 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/22/2019

This last time to the Nissan in my area, I had them look at my passenger airbag sensor, as the sensor indicates off, even if there is no weight on the seat. My service advisor and the head of the service department both said that it's not clear if the airbags will deploy if the sensor is off. They said I could get it replaced, but the issue it will cost $2,600 because they need to replace the whole seat. Come to find out, this is actually an issue reported to the NHTSA from other 2011 Rogue owners. I am the primary driver in my family, but now I am worried to transport anyone. It doesn't look like there has been a recall, but this is an issue that can cause me to sell my vehicle and not get another Nissan. I am now worried of getting into an accident and knowing full well my airbags, the one thing built into the vehicle to keep people safe, may or may not deploy, and may or may not keep people safe. $2,600 to fix a car defect isn't an option for me. Planning a funeral for someone who chooses to ride in my front seat isn't an option either. I am truly at a loss for what to do next, but I am heartbroken that it's come down to those two options. I wanted to keep my Rogue for a few years more - I love it, but safety is my number one priority. I wish safety was a priority to Nissan to make this a recall, but it seems like profits have surpassed customer safety. The sensor has been on for months, but the first time they said there was nothing that could be done.

9 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2009 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/01/2019

I have the srs light constantly on and was diagnosed that the occupant seat sensor is bad and need replacement. This device stop the passenger seat air bag from deploying even if there is an occupant, so they are at risk. Don't understand why users need to pay out of pocket for a safety device that should work. 2008 Nissan Rogue was recalled, so why other year aren't if the problem is not solved.

Tamara recall . . . . The vehicle was turning left lane on a city street when a car came out of nowhere the sensors didn't beep & the airbags supposedly had been serviced or repaired by dealer but they never deployed & it was a frontal crash . Plus dealer already had knowledge of this type of fault but still didn't bother telling me but put it in 1 of the service maintenance invoices and I think dealer is doing mischief please investigate . . . Thank u 4 ur time. . . . P. S they have done repairs on the vehicle that are not required yet as well I am a certified auto technician a. S. E certifications.

14 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2009 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/11/2019

My 2009 Nissan Rogue is pulling a code for the occupancy-classification sensor fail. This is the same fail that has been recalled on several Nissan models. The fix, I'm told is a new seat. This is obviously excessive and not reasonable given the history of Nissan and the OCS sensor failures on their vehicles.

15 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2012 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 03/01/2019

My side-seat passenger airbag sensor - located in the passenger side seat - keeps turning off. This sensor has been recalled for 2013 models. Was told by dealership that its not under warranty - or recalled for 2012 - and the cost is extremely prohibitive and exorbitant since it cannot be fixed unless you purchase a new seat for $2,600. 00. This sets up for an extremely dangerous situation if involved in an accident. The vehicle only has 44,000 miles and there have been thousands of complaints filed for the same make and model of vehicle.

Air bag or electric issue to sensor in the passenger seat, but the light never goes off when anyone is in the seat. When the vehicle is powered on in park or even driving the light indication stays on.

21 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2016 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 09/24/2018

The airbags on my 2016 Nissan Rogue never deployed. I was driving 65 mph on the highway when I had a sneezing spell. My eyes closed and my arm jerked the wheel during the spell. My car turned into the breakdown lane off the side of the highway. It happened so fast that I never even applied the brakes. My car plowed through the thick woods and trees for over 500ft at full highway speed. . Finally coming to rest after making head on contact with a big tree. When my car was being towed out of woods, the tow tuck driver found the airbag sensor broken off underneath the car. I have included several pics from the accident scene and from the tow yard where my car was brought. You can clearly see the damage to the car from the force of the impact. The resulting damage resulted in the car being a total loss with insurance company . Pictures showing the inside of the car reflect the fact no airbags ever went off. I also included a picture showing the broken off sensor sitting on my hood. By the grace of god I was not seriously hurt in the crash. But I and reporting the crash because the next person may not be so lucky. There clearly in a design flaw. You would think if the sensor brakes off, that would automatically release the airbags. Clearly not the case in my accident.

24 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 02/07/2018

My Nissan Roguenwas one of the first models introduced in 2008. Since then there have been a few recalls that my Rogue hasn't been eligeable for. One of my recalls right now is the sensor in the pending under the seat for the airbag. The recall says the sensor will still be illuminated when a passenger is sitting in the seat meaning that the sensor for the air bag is malfunctioning. Have called the dealership and the car manufacturers for Nissan and they just won't help at all.

25 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2012 Nissan Rogue

26 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 06/19/2017

Itakata recall:bought the car in July 2016, and everything that can go wrong has, of course it's trial by error, this car had and still has every defect there is. I bought this car from I was not notified of any problems or was my VIN number posted in any event we were on our way to lake george, traveling at a speed of 70 when all of a sudden my car decelerated, flooring got us know where, literally there was traffic everywhere, I put my hazardous lights on and was finally able to get over to right side of road. On another occasion I attempted to go up a hill and while in drive the car just rolled backwards, service engine light came on, perhaps a week after getting my car serviced and multi car inspection. I took the car back ,lady at the desk informed me there was a crack in the cvt, they sealed it and replace transmission fluid , she also went to say if it still gives you problems then we will replace transmission while a few weeks later it decelerated again. I have brought the car back to fucillonissan three times, the service man stated I had to wait until the service light on, what he really meant to say is we are not going pay over three thousand dollars for a new transmission, or wait for the extended warranty to expire. The tire pressure indicated light has came on since I bought the car, which is also a defect , and repeatedly informed them, just filling the tires up and reset the buttons prior to me owning this car it was serviced for emissions defect, their website indicated that they merely reset the button, but the fact that are hazardous fumes don't even direct them to look for leak. The gentleman from Nissan said was resolved, pushing a button, just like they did with tire pressure sensor. Nys adhere to one hand watches the other, hence they would place a recall, I just hope an inexperienced driver go through any of this.

33 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/16/2015

My mother in law was driving on Wednesday last at around 35 mph. It was raining and for no apparent reason the side curtain airbags deployed. It was taken to the dealership and they told the insurance adjuster that this was due to a collision even though there was no collision. The car doesn't have a dent on it anywhere. The technician said that the underside of the car was "all beat up". Having been an ase certified mechanic, I don't recall any airbag sensors underneath the car. They are making her insurance pay to correct it.

34 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2015 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/01/2015

The inactive passenger's airbag which indicates that the passenger airbag is disabled stays illuminated even when an adult sits in the seat. This is intermittent. Sometimes restarting the car will no other changes will fix the issue (the light stops being illuminated). I have no idea whether this relates to the airbag itself, the sensor, or the light.

35 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 01/19/2015

I have been requesting Nissan replace the seat cushion in my Rogue since they inspected it in 2015. They have refused. Now I see there is a recall, air bag occupant classification system (OCS), and I have never been notified and do not see my vehicle in the recall notifications!!!!! I needs my seat cushion replaced, or the air bag sensor will not activate the airbag in a collision. I have been the only owner of this vehicle.
