Intermittent and inconsistent: with passenger in passenger seat, the airbag off light is on. I have had the dealer look at it on 3 separate occasions and they cannot find anything. Passenger side seat belt light comes on intermitently (as if passenger is not wearing seat belt, but really is. I believe these are serious issues with the sensors in the passenger seat. . .

Passenger air bag sensor not working properly¿will randomly stop working with 175lb passenger but yet works with 30lb bag placed on seat. Vehicle is in motion and can happen on city streets as well as highway speeds. This issue is still occurring. The car was purchased used with 30,000 miles in January 2014. Most of the time I do not have a passenger but I'd like them to be protected when I do.

Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the air bag sensor flashed and on the front passengers side the air bag sensor indicated that the air bag was off. The vehicle was taken to the authorized dealer twice and the authorized dealer cleared the code and the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back a third time and the authorized dealer replaced the front passengers seat. The contact continued to notice the failure recurring and showing the air bag off on the front passengers side and the air bag sensor continued to flash on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not repaired and the contact took the vehicle back twice after the third time and the authorized dealer did not remedy the failure. The autorized dealer cleared the code on the fourth appointment and the code still illuminated causing the contact to go back a fifth time to get the vehicle repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure several times. The approximate failure mileage was 4,702. Dyd.

Nhtsa campaign id 08v5210000 was issued recalling the 2008 Nissan Rogue for a faulty airbag sensor. Why when I own a 2008 Rogue, and the dealer has confirmed the OCS control unit faulty & now has failed, is Nissan not responsible for replacing it at their cost? they tell me it is because only a certain supplier was recalled even though they know the same part is the one that is faulty in my 2008 Rogue. This is a very serious issue and it was recalled on my make & model but because my VIN # was not included in the recall (I. E. Not enough people complained), they refuse to offer any financial assistance to fix this issue. I have a 16 year old daughter who rides in the passenger seat for 50 miles to/from school everyday. This repair is $2500! it is a faulty part & Nissan needs to be held responsible for replacing all parts that are deemed faulty and fail. I informed Nissan that (heaven forbid) if I get into an accident & my daughter flies out the front windshield because of a faulty airbag sensor, you better believe it is on record & a lawsuit will be filed. Nissan is fully aware of this issue, as is your organization. But unfortunately you limit these recalls for the benefit of the big corporations instead of the safety of the people.

I am 5'1" and approx 105 lbs. When I or a friend (under 110 lbs) sits in the front passenger seat the passenger airbag off light goes on. I have taken it in to the dealer several times for this issue. Last time they replaced the seat and airbag sensor. The problem persists. I took it in again today and was told that there was nothing mechanically wrong/malfunctioning just that the seat and sensors are designed to turn the airbag off if an adult weighs under 110 lbs. In the event of an accident, if I or a friend (whos isunder 110 lbs) is in the passenger seat we will not be protected by the airbag. I am frusterated. Why was I leased a vehichle that is not safe? I previously had a murano and did not have this problem. I have looked at current muranos and do not have this problem. It only occurs with the Rogue.

The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Rogue. Whenever the contact sits in the front passenger seat while sitting on a 2 inch thick cushion the airbag sensor will deactivate shutting power off in the passenger side airbag. However, when the contact sits in the seat without the cushion the airbag sensor works correctly. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where the contact was informed that the sensor was working properly. The contact has noticed the failure since the day the vehicle was purchased. The current and failure mileages were 7756. Updated 3/4/2010 updated 05/20/10.
With approximately 500 miles on my new 2008 Nissan Rogue, the passenger air bag light starting flashing. It was determined on December 26, 2007 that I needed an airbag control module. The part is out of stock and is on back order. Current estimated release date of the replacement part is January 4, 2008. In the interim, my car is just sitting in the dealers service lot awaiting repair. I have been unable to use my car, other than drive it back to the Nissan dealer since December 17, 2007.
The airbag sensor won't shut off.
