1 Carrier/rack problem of the 2015 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 06/30/2020

Nissan Rogue 2015 - sunroof/moonroof shattered suddenly. We were driving on a freeway with cruise control set at 65mph; the weather was sunny, approx. Low 80s. Nothing was irregular about the feel of the car, we were not driving under an overpass, other vehicles on the road were not ultra-close to us, and we didn't drive over any objects, then suddenly, we heard a loud bang out of nowhere which harshly startled us and got our hearts pounding. After realizing the car was still operating normally (no flat tire, no steam from the engine, no warning lights etc. ) when we stopped to look over the car for any sign of damage, we finally discovered cracked and lifted glass on the exterior of the panoramic moonroof. Looking closer we found numerous more long cracks so we opened the interior sunshade to look up at the glass from the inside of the car, and were astonished to discover the entire rear portion of the sunroof was shattered into little tempered pieces. We were lucky I didn't swerve and potentially cause an accident after the thunderous bang and/or that the glass didn't dangerously cascade on top of us while driving. This is a major motor vehicle safety issue and defect. After researching what could have caused a sunroof to randomly shatter, I'm appalled to learn that this has been a recurring issue on Nissan vehicles for years! my local Nissan dealership/service center said they are not responsible to fix this obvious concern?! we pay extra to have a car with a sun/moonroof, only to discover after the fact, that they are susceptible to exploding suddenly and randomly and shattering into pieces which I'm now informed is my responsibility to fix?.

2 Carrier/rack problem of the 2009 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 12/26/2019

Drivers side door occasionally will not open. It can never be opened from outside, but there have been several times when I'm inside and go to open the door to get out, and it wont open. This is with engine turned off, car in park, and doors unlocked. In an emergency, such as car stalling on a railroad track/car sinking in a pond/engine on fire - I could be stuck inside!.

3 Carrier/rack problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 09/01/2019

There is an issue with the front-end collision sensor causing the vehicle to falsely register an obstruction causing the vehicle to stop. On several occasions I had the sensor trip going at speeds lower than 30mph. Normally it was when there was a dip in the road or near railroad tracks. Most recently I had two situations while driving on the highway. The first was on the highway in a hilly area (lake of the ozarks mo) and it was raining. I received several alerts that he sensor could not detect because it was obstructed. Wen it did this, the speed of the car reduced, but did not stop and the steering wheel locked for a moment. I disabled the system to continue the rest of my drive. The road conditions were very we and I did not want to experience issues. The second was on the highway, doing over 80mph in the left hand lane passing the vehicle in the right lane. As I came down the hill the car came to a stop and the steering wheel locked a the same time not allowing me to clear the active highway. I took my foot off of the accelerator and was able to then press it again and move into the shoulder of the road. The road conditions were dry this time (2 days later than the previous incident). Thankfully there was not a vehicle right behind me as they would not have had a reaction time because of coming down the hill. I again had to disable the safety sensor feature and drove the remaining 10 hours of my trip without it. I contacted the dealer on 9/3 when they opened and was advised there was a safety recall that I should bring it in but was never notified of the recall by Nissan.

Failure Date: 08/23/2019

Driving on i4 in florida my car went from 70mph to 30 in less than 1min when I took it to the dealership they sd it was a cracked filter and fixed it 4mos later I was driving on highway got off the exit and stopped at traffic light when light changed hit gas pedal and the car will not move I pump it and then it started going but very sluggish til it picked up speed . This past Friday the same exact thing happened again. I'm very good on keeping my car tuned up taking care of maintenance on the car at the time it corresponds so I'm baffle as to why this is happening. I don't abuse my car . No lights come up in the panel indicating a problem. A few different mechanics have checked the car and can't find anything wrong with it. Yet I'm a wreck any time I'm driving thinking somebody is going to ran into the back of my car. Please help me .

The vehicle braked to a full stop while I was driving straight forward over train tracks. This is very dangerous as I could have easily been rear ended.

7 Carrier/rack problem of the 2013 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 06/04/2014

I bought my car new in may,2013 and after a while I noticed that it was making a weird noise when going at high speed. I told the dealership about it at every service, and they said it was nothing, or they could not duplicate it. In Feb 2015 I took it again and asked them to address it seriously, they claimed they can't duplicate it but that the transmission fluid was over full and they fixed that. They also said there were some tubes cracked and they replaced them. . . Now my car makes the noise a lot more, it is not all the time but when it does it is loud and scary. I contacted Nissan USA and it has been hard communicating with them and I think my car is unsafe and might be a lemon.

8 Carrier/rack problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 10/26/2012

I noticed a whinning sound coming from my vehicle. I took it to a mechanic who then reported it was the transmission. I then took my car to a Nissan dealership and they confirmed that it was the cvt transmission (carrier bearing area). I was not aware that there had been issues with the cvt transmissions in Nissan. Nissan had extended the warranty however due to me the consumer not being made aware of the issue that Nissan was having, I didn't know that I should be on the look to see if my car was having issues until I heard the whinning sound. I drive a lot for work, therefore my car has 123,233 miles on it but is very well taken care of and is only 5 years old and has no other issues. I am currently battling with Nissan to have them fix their defective product (cvt transmission). Nissan should be made to correct these defects in their products regardless. Nissan knows of the issue, but from the research I've been doing online they are not taking responsibility for the defective products. Americans should not spend their hard earned money on products that are defective and then companies bailing out. Companies need to take responsibility!.
