2 Electrical Jack problem of the 2015 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 04/17/2021

When we bought the car 2 years ago, the ac went out the day after we purchased it. The dealer finally got it fixed after about 3 months of trying different things. Last month it went out again. They replaced the compressor under warranty; I paid labor and for a new ac belt. Now it is out again after less than 6 weeks. This is a safety issue for me because I cannot drive with windows down. The last time I tried that, a yellowjacket flew in and stung me, resulting in a trip to the hospital. I have seen multiple complaints about this issue from other Rogue owners, and I hope that you will make Nissan do something about the faulty ac in 2015 and 2016 Rogues. The date below is the date of the most recent time the ac failed.

3 Electrical Jack problem of the 2015 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 01/16/2021

While driving down john turner butler in jacksonville, FL, the sunroof shattered and glass spewed throughout the vehicle. I was traveling with my two children under the age of two years old in the vehicle. Glass ended up in their car seat and throughout the vehicle.

4 Electrical Jack problem of the 2017 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 08/19/2019

On 4 different occasions within less than 60 days, my 2017 Nissan Rogue has tried to "stop" on its own while I have been driving for no reason. There is nothing in front of me on the sides of me or close behind me when it occurs. It has varied in the speeds I have been driving, it hasn't happened during one specific speed. When it occurs, it beeps multiple times and I can hear my brakes locking up for a split second and then it stops. The first time it happened, I was going around 30 mph in town (thankfully I wasn't on the interstate) and I truly thought my car had come to a complete stop or died right there in the road. Each time my car messes up, it always makes the same noise, makes the same 3-4 beeps and then tries to lock up. I took it to my local Nissan store in jackson, ms and they informed me that nothing was wrong with my car- but my gut just says other wise. It scares me to think that this might happen on the interstate, at a much higher speed, with my family in the car with me. Please help!.

5 Electrical Jack problem of the 2012 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 06/01/2017

Vehicle was stationary in residential garage with flat tire. Scissors type jack had never been used. When I used the jack on flat, stable surface at hard point on vehicle per owner's manual it bent moments after taking weight. I stepped back from vehicle for my own safety, jack buckled, and car fell. Luckily I was not injured and wheel with flat tire was still on hub so vehicle was not damaged. However, when I contacted Nissan customer service (case #26836371) they informed me that they would not replace the jack as the car is no longer under warranty and had no process to escalate this safety issue that could be affecting other owners. A jack that fails immediately upon first use has to be due to a design, manufacturing, or metallurgical flaw. Attached photos show twisted jack and bent screw assembly.

6 Electrical Jack problem of the 2013 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 06/21/2016

I went to use the jack provided by Nissan to change a flat tire. This was the first time the jack had ever been used. As I started to elevate the vehicle higher I noticed the jack started to bend and collapse, as the screw mechanism also started to bend. The attached photos probably do not truly show how much both the frame & screw of the jack had actually bent. I had to use another jack to get the faulty one out from under the vehicle. Afterwards with the assistance of a vice, I was able to close the defective jack and in doing so it somewhat straightened the screw and frame. The screw was severely concave, and the jack frame listed a lot with the vehicle weight. I was fortunate to be doing this on a concrete driveway at home. The emergency brake was fully engaged, the transmission was in park with the engine off, and I had wooden blocks behind the rear tires. My concern was that had this happened on the side of a road, and I didn't have a second jack; or had not noticed the bending, myself or anyone else in a similar situation could have been seriously injured. In doing an internet search afterwards, I found a number of owners who had the same problem with this particular scissor jack from the same make, model & year.

7 Electrical Jack problem of the 2015 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 06/01/2015

The problem is that the doors do not unlock until you press the engine stop button. Then all the doors unlock, not just the driver's door. That makes it very easy for car jackers, purse snatchers, and child abductors to wait at a gas station for you to pull up, turn off your engine so you can get out, and commit their crime when all the doors unlock. Obviously the same would be true if for some reason you were pulling into a shopping mall or grocery store parking lot. There is a method to reverse the operation so no doors unlock when you turn off the engine and this is safer, except: the driver's door lock and front passenger door lock are not mechanically connected the the door handle. Ie, if you disable the auto door unlock, you cannot open the driver's door in an emergency -- like a car fire, heart attack, accident -- unless you can find and release the door lock which has been "aesthetically" hidden in the door and designed so it is not easily opened -- I assume to prevent someone from using a wire to unlock the door. This is the first vehicle I have ever driven that the driver (and front seat passenger) cannot exit without manually finding and flipping the door lock. How insane is that? I mentioned that none of my american cars had this problem and the mechanic I was talking to said it was only a Nissan thing. No other car that he knows of will not let the driver exit the car by pulling the door handle. This is extremely dangerous and you truly have very little control over your own security in this vehicle. Any person with any kind of even minor hand disability, like arthritis, would have a very hard time unlocking the car doors. The truly crazy thing is that we are talking about, maybe, 5-10 cents of clothes hanger-type wire to correct the problem and potentially save people's lives. Does this violate ada rules?.

8 Electrical Jack problem of the 2008 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 01/30/2015

Door lock actuator on drivers side front doors froze after freezing rain/ ice storm. In the morning I went to open the door and start the car. The drivers side door would not open from the outside handles. The passenger door had no problems. Though I was not aware of the relationship of the problem to the weather at the time. I have since learned it has been a very common problem. . . Common why not recalled???????? I was quoted at the Nissan dealership $450 to $500. 00. This is a safety issue. . No one should climb over or have to open the window from the passenger side. . . Its a carjacking ready to happen!!!.

9 Electrical Jack problem of the 2012 Nissan Rogue

Failure Date: 03/18/2014

The jack that is supplied with the Nissan Rogue failed while the car was up and the front passenger tire was off, thus causing the car to crash to the ground and land on its rotor. If any part of my body was under the wheel well at the time, the vehicle would have fallen on me. This jack needs to be at its near maximum up position to lift the tire off of the ground. At this fully extended up position the jack does not support the car properly.
