2 Tank Assembly problem of the 2005 Nissan Sentra

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that gasoline spilled from the fuel tank once filled to capacity. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that the fuel valve needed to be replaced. The contact believed that the failure was a manufacturing defect. The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated whenever fuel was dispensed into the fuel tank, the fuel would spew out from the fuel tank filler neck regardless of the fuel capacity. There was a recall associated with the failure under NHTSA campaign id number: 05v269000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage) but the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 109,000.

This 2004 Nissan Sentra 1. 8s has had issues when refueling . . . The tank is hard to fill as station nozzles do not permit refueling the engine maintenance light is on & diagnostic code is 1446. When fill in the fuel tank the gasoline start to overflow, therefore I have to go slowly which takes me 10-15 minutes to fill in the tank this will be the second time I will have to have this repaired on the Nissan engine does not start until after many cranks most of the times.

When I try to start my 2006 Nissan Sentra ser it repeatly turns over even when there is a full tank of gas. I have stop and start it over and over to get to to key up. At first it was here and there now it is everyday everytime I try to turn on the car. I called about the issue and was told I may need a tune up, my car just hit 50,000 miles. I have read over the manufactur book given at purchase to see if they is any information available about this. I do have an extended warranty on my car, but right now I just trying to figure out what is going on. I found this website and saw others are having the same issues.

The contact stated that it would take approximately 20 to 30 minutes to fill the fuel tank. I have a Nissan 2006 Sentra 1. 8. When refueling, gas pours back out of the gas tank, even when on empty. Nissan has published a service bulletin about a vent control valve replacement (using a new style vent control valve). I contacted Nissan and the parts & labor will total approximately $350 for a serious safety issue such as this; any spark would surely ignite the driver and probably auto; they are unwilling to send me the part at this point & I still can't use the vehicle- this has been happening for approximately 3 weeks.

2008 Nissan Sentra. Consumer writes in regards to problem with tank not accepting fuel. The consumer stated the fuel tank was replaced under warranty in April 2011. The problem resurfaced again in August 2011 where the tank would not take more than two gallons of gas. The dealer cleaned out the vent fuel line and replaced the fuel tank.

1998 Nissan Sentra gxe would not take fuel. At the gas pump, the pump would click off, like the tank was full. It would take less than a gallon of gas at a time. I took it to be serviced and questioned if there was a recall and I was told that there was just a bulletin on it. I never located the bulletin. The pressure sensor was replaced. That part alone, was over $300. Dollars.

The contact owns a 2005 Nissan Sentra. The engine light illuminated on the instrument panel and the contact waited before taking the vehicle to autozone. She was informed that one of her control valves had closed. She attempted to have the vehicle diagnosed by the dealer, but they were unable to perform an inspection. Throughout this process, the contact went to fill up the vehicle with gasoline, but the pump kept clicking and indicated that the tank was full. The clicking would occur every few seconds. The contact was unsure if the failure was due to the vehicle or the actual gasoline pump. The contact smelled a strong smell of gasoline inside the passenger compartment, and went online to research possible defects. The vehicle has not been repaired. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 50,000 and current mileage was 58,000.

We paid Nissan $88. 75 for the technician to tell us that we need a new gas tank ($900) due to a canister leaking and clogging the air filter inside the tank. They want us to pay $900 to replace the gas tank! we think it must be a defect because gas tanks should last the life of the car or atleast more than 4 years. We are driving with the smell of gas until this is resolved. Please help. Dt.
