Check engine light came on with a code p0101. I had maf sensor replaced with Nissan part and check engine light is still on. Now I am getting a reading for low voltage for the maf sensor. After researching, I have found that this is a very common problem. I now have to take car in to have electrical wiring and computer checked because there is some problem with the car's computer communicating with maf sensor. Secondary problem is now the traction light randomly keeps illuminating and car loses acceleration from time to time. Car only has 51,000 miles on it.

I purchased my 2018 Nissan Sentra with 5 miles (basically brand new) the car currently has 10,000 miles and the vehicle is kept maintained. A few months after I purchased the Nissan Sentra I began having issues with my back up camera screen in which it began blacking out and flickering in and off. Since it had been raining in my town I assumed there was some sort of short or water must of leaked into the wiring system l, I took it to my local Nissan dealer and they couldn't find any type of issue with the car so I left it at that I haven't had any issues with it gain however it hasn't rained either so I'm just waiting to see. After that occurred I began having issues with the front radar crash sensor. I get a warning ⚠️ signal on my dash constantly reading that I have a front radar obstruction which there is nothing blocking the sensor. Shortly after that my ac began blowing up streamlined hot air and went out one day. I've attempted to have it fixed and there's nothing they can find to fix the issues. I've had the car for a year about 10,000 miles and these issues have raised concern. The vehicle is under warranty and still these issues cannot be fixed.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Sentra. While driving at an unknown speed, the check engine and traction control warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the soy based wire cable harnesses had been chewed and fractured by rodents and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired with more soy based wires and the contact was concerned that the failure would recur. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 42,059.
The contact owns a 2000 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that the horn stopped operating. The dealer stated that the wires for the horn were corroded and replaced the wires. The current mileage is 54,000 and failure mileage was 53,800. Updated 10/11/07.

To whom it may concern:
I purchased my 1998 Nissan Sentra xe/gxe January 27, 2005, from a used auto car dealer. May 18. 2006 defect on the vehicle occurred that caused my vehicle to go up in flames and caused it to be destroyed. The fire started with the head light and leading to other parts of the motor. The fire department was called out to the scene. The description of the fire was that it started from the right head light which had a shortage in the wiring and set off a box behind the light which caused the fire to melt the transmission fluid box which caused the fire to spread.

The electric wiring of 2000 Sentra is bad and defective, it displays intermittent problem, all the display meters (speedometer, fuel gauge) will go of and on.
I own a 2001 Nissan Sentra. Several months ago, the horn stopped working. We finally took it in to our local mechanic and he called saying the horn works, the fuse is fine and the relay works, but somewhere between the fuse and the relay, it's losing power; likely a short in the wire. But they said it is wired in such a convoluted way that it's going to take another 2 hours to find the right wire and fix. I found this in an internet message board:
"just curious if any others have issues with their 00-06 Sentra horns. . . Meaning you hit your horn or key fob and no sound from the horn? I had my 2001 se fixed around 60,xxx. . . Found out from Nissan that the wires are a bit short running to the horn speaker. . . I think the wiring goes under the radiator. It gets stressed and rubs somewhere and due to corrosion or total breakage the horn then no longer functions. The part I'm pissed about is that now at 68k the problem is once again back. I know according to my father who use to work for a company that provides technical support to private garages around the u. S. That this in fact is a common problem with these Sentra's, but according to Nissan does not require an ntsb. Safety feature in my opinion. Nissan says I'll have to bring it in and pay for diagnosis. I think I call the regional manager. Twice I've had someone almost hit me and I have no horn. ÂNissan said check the fuse. . . Their typical response. After talking at length to the Nissan dealer that last fixed this issue they finally gave up and said it sounded like the same issue was back. "
after this, I called my local Nissan repair shop (517 393-5700) and spoke with the service manager. After telling him the problem, he put me on hold and checked their records. He indicated to me that yes, this is a problem with this make/model of Nissan, but that there was nothing Nissan nor they could do fixing the horn which is caused by an admittedly poorly designed horn wiring system.

3rd year of college, needed a decent car, picked 2000 Nissan Sentra. Car worked great at first, then led to hesitation and eventually stalling. I thought I fixed the problem, ordered a new throttle position chamber (cause I was told that was the problem) replaced the part, got a tune-up, only to end up with the same problem. The mil illuminated. Took vehicle to Nissan dealer for diagnostic testing, and they said it started from a sensor gone bad. I was never notified of any of the recalls on this vehicle, and I thought I was safe by financing the vehicle from the dealership. The estimate for repairs was over $2000 from the dealer. I needed to have the entire computer system replaced because the bad wiring shorted everything out. I could not afford to continue making the monthly payments and pricey maintenance so I let her go. . Sadly I have a Nissan altima now and was directed to this site searching for a recall a family member saw on the news today about my vehicle. This is definitely my last Nissan!.
Intermittently while driving at any speed and shifting any gear the vehicle stalled. The dealership inspected the vehicle 10 times on different occasions, and could not duplicate or correct the problem. There were numerous probles with engine stalling, the maf had to be replace numerous times, the check engine and the reverse light did not work properly. (the wiring harness also repeated intermittent problems) the engine would stall when the clutch was depressed and when in neutral idling and when shifting the gears. The front speaker/tweeters made cracking noises. The cooling fan would come on when not activated.

I bought my car in may of 2004. Since then, the interior dash lights, tail lights and various fuses have blown at least 3 times each. Lights were replaced. The dealership said there was nothing wrong that they could find, and they had replaced the fuses. The very next day, the same fuses blew again. The dealership said there were no "open recalls" on my car. It is a 2003 Nissan Sentra se-r. The catalytic converter failed at approximately 29000 miles. This actually blew my engine, which dealership relaced. The fuse problem is still persistent.

Recall for crankshaft kit and recent shut down of engine. The vehicle was service at the dealer for a crankshaft sensor recall. After the recall was performed the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to a local mechanic who performed a diagnostic test on the vehicle. The test indicated that the crankshaft sensor was the problem. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer the vehicle was then towed to the dealer who stated that I the diagnostic test he runs came up as the crankshaft sensor then the consumer would not have to pay the diagnostics fee. The diagnostic was run and the test indicated that the crankshaft sensor was the problem. The dealer then stated that although the test indicated that it was the crankshaft, it really was not the sensor but the wiring around the crankshaft. Therefore the consumer had to pay the diagnostic fee. The consumer feels this is completely dishonest and irresponsible of the dealer.
While driving at highway speed driver saw smoke coming from the hood. The consumer stopped the vehicle, got out, and smelled plastic burning. The engine compartment was on fire. The fire department was called to extinguish the fire.
I was driving my car on I-270 during rush hour traffic, with my two year old son in the car, when my 2002 Nissan 5 speed just shut off. I was in the center lane and had to veer right to get my car off onto the berm. After having it towed to two different mechanics, and $310 later I found out that I had a bad wiring harness. This is what made my car shut off. To me this is a serious safety concern, my son and I could have lost our lives, not to mention the people I cut in front of to try to get off the freeway. There were no warnings of this mechanical failure, the car literally just shut off.
The wiring under the window controls in the driver door started to smolder and burst into flames within seconds. Part of the plastic door panel melted. It took two watering cans of water to put out the fire. Nissan has refused to take any responsibility, but I see on your website that a similar complaint was filed today. It might be worthwhile to check into this.
