Nissan Titan owners have reported 4 problems related to automatic transmission cooler (under the power train category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Nissan Titan based on all problems reported for the Titan.
Transmission cooling lines broke and sprayed transmission fluid all over. Engine would barely transfer power to transmission causing vehicle to barely be driveable. After being towed to dealership, not only the transmission cooling lines needed to be replaced but also the radiator hoses and the high pressure power steering line. Neither of those to my knowledge needed to be fixed when brought in but was told they were cracked or slowly leaking and needed to be replaced. After 2 weeks and 1500 dollars later I finally have my truck back.

First of all ,I would like to say that my truck has high miles. I purchased it new, dealer serviced only. In fact my truck was serviced by a dealer in miami on 3-28-13 for oil change ,the day before I lost my transmission because of ,what I now know to be common place, a $5 cooling tubing that goes to the transmission. My first thought was maybe the tech at the dealer broke the tubing since its inches away from the oil filter and my vehicle was serviced there hours before I lost all my fluid, therefore burning up my transmission, you would think that the dealers would check the tubing since its right in the techs face while conducting oil changes. Oh well ,my truck was well maintained, still looks great, totally loaded le, my tranny went down without warning, this will cost me around $6000. I`m a Nissan man,I just purchased the new 2013 pathfinder for my wife back in December before it even appeared on the streets, should I have fears about defects with this one ? whats going on Nissan ? floridaboy.

My 2006 Titan started vibrating like running over rumble strips on side of highway. Took straight to dealership. Was told that the cooling system split and contaminated the transmission. I had to have the transmission and radiator replaced $7313. 56. There was no warning or anything. After reading many complaints for the same thing on other Nissan vehicles, there needs to be an investigation and a recall on the cooling system that can cause this amount of damage.
Loss of significant amount of transmission fluid due to a failed or weakened hose clamp. Nissan dealer informed me this was a known problem and a repair kit had been developed as a fix, however no customer/owner notification of the problem was made. Why wasn't recall issued? was 60 miles south of atlanta when discovered only by chance during a walk around after getting gas. Might just as easily have been stranded in the middle of December with my wife and two little girls.
