My vehicle is a 2004 Nissan Titan pickup truck and when I'm driving and I start to slow down to stop when I get about 40 miles per hour it wants to speed up real fast on me and I'm trying to stop at when it's doing it when it drops down to 25 it does it again and then again at 5 or 10 miles an hour does it is very very very dangerous because of almost wrecked several times it's so bad that it's messed up my brakes because now my my pads are making noises rotors it does it every single time you drive the vehicle.

On two separate occasions the left and right back axel seal started leaking oil on to the back brakes and wheels. The seals and back breaks had to be replaced booth times would not pass state inspection because oil soaked break pads breaks had reduced stopping power.

Rear axel seals leak causing rear differential oil on wheels, rotors and brake pads. Could lead to a complete brake failure on rear two wheels due to oil.
At 27,000 miles had shimmy in steering wheel and dealer turn rotors at 45,000 had same problem dealer alined wheels at 58,000 the same problem replaced rotors at 93,000 again same problem turned rotors and added pads.

Rear axle seals leak and could potentially soak rear disc brake pads to the point of complete failure.
The vehicle braking began to deteriorate so I checked each wheel, front and back. While inspecting the rear brake pads and rotors I noticed oil on both. Upon further inspection I noticed that the rear axle seal on both sides was leaking oil and it had gotten on the rotors and pads. I replaced both rotors and all pads on the rear, and inspected the rear axle vent which I found plugged. I installed a new vent but the rear axle seals are still leaking and need to be replaced. In doing research on the problem I found it to be common on this vehicle.

Wheel seals leaked and got onto brake pads and two axel seals had to be changed to make truck safe.
I was rotating my tires and noticed gear oil on the inside of my rear wheels. The gear oil has seeped out of a failed oil seal and covered my brake pads and rotor. This oil could cause decreased braking ability and increase the likelihood of a failed brake related accident.

All 4 brake pads and rotors required changing on a 2008 Nissan Titan at 14,315 mi. This was determined by two qualified mechanics. Quote from the Nissan dealership, "all brake rotors are severely pitted. . . "
there was no warning and this is unexpected at such low mileage. It was detected when tires were being rotated. Nissan claimed that this may be normal wear and would not help with financial compensation. Rotors are available for viewing (for investigation purposes) for a period of time.

I have owned my 2006 Titan crew cab since 2008 and have had multiple brake service requests performed for "brake judder". Previous solution was to turn the rotors back to true until rotors can no longer be turned and new oem rotors are acquired that will start the whole process over again. This is a temporary fix for the larger problem. Brake rotor size and material selected for the 2006 Nissan Titan model is inadequate to provide enough surface area and venting for proper heat dissipation to prevent warpage of the oem brake rotors. This brake rotor turning service was performed 10,000 miles ago, 5,000 miles ago and the vehicle is currently in need of the same service. A vehicle with less than 50,000 miles that is driven less than 12,000 miles per year should not have had 3 brake service issues for the same manufacturers defect. My personal solution (because Nissan has failed to recognize this as a defect in need of a recall) is to upgrade the oem brake hardware with aftermarket performance slotted and dimpled rotors and ceramic brake pads to provide for adequate heat dissipation and prevent rotor warpage.
The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Titan. While driving approximately 45 mph, the contact heard a loud squealing noise outside of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnosis. The technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on five different times. The rear rotors and brake pads were replaced on two different occasions. Currently, the vehicle was being repaired with the replacement of both rear axles, and rear brakes. There was a recall 10v072000 (service brakes, hydraulic: pedals and linkages); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 500.

The contact owns a 2007 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that the brake pedal seemed spongy and it was very low. It almost extended to the floor. She noticed the failure every time she drove the vehicle. She called the dealership but did not have the vehicle inspected, because she felt they were aggressive and confrontational she took the vehicle to a repair shop and was told that the brake pads and rotors needed to be replaced. The contact had not called the manufacturer to-date. The vehicle was repaired at the time of the complaint. The current mileage was approximately 14,525. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000. Under normal driving conditions the rear axle seals began leaking and damaged the rear brakes. The axle seals and spacers need to be replaced along with parking brake and rear brake pads.
2004 nissian Titan: rear axle seal leak causing oil to get on rear brake pads.
I am a owner of a 2004 Nissan Titan who have had several problems in the past. However, I almost got into a serious accident yesterday, as I had no braking on my rear wheels. After inspecting the rear brakes and why they failed, I noticed that my seals on the rear axel is leaking oil onto my brakes pads.
Rear axel seals leak oil onto the rear brake pads.
I think the brake system in my 2005 Titan is inadequate. The front disc rotors were bent @ 20000 miles and replaced by Nissan for this defect but at 60000 miles, the front disc rotors were bent again. Making stopping this truck hazardous as the steering wheel is shaking violently and it took much farther to stop. I check the disc rotors and the brake pads and they are normal. I contact Nissan but they didnt response.
My 2004 Nissan Titan recently started leaking gear oil from both axles in the rear. Concurrently my brake pads starting absorbing the oil which in turn ruined my rotors, brake pads, and now is costing me a pretty penny to get it fixed. My mechanic said the local auto parts stores do not carry these bearings and seals and therefore must contact the original dealer to order them. After reading and following up on the additional complaints by many other Titan owners, I am curious to find out what steps in Nissan taking to recall these bad seals and bearings? why should us the owners have to fix costly repairs when Nissan knows their production efforts were not properly tested before fielding the dealerships? please inform me how to get it fixed free of cost to me.
Purchased a new Nissan Titan in 2/2005. Had the front brakes replaced at 25,000 under warranty when began to feel vibration in steering wheel while applying the brakes. Presently I have 57,000 miles on the truck and the same vibration in the steering wheel while applying the brakes is happening again. Took the vehicle to local dealer and they informed me that I needed a updated torque member kit and new front pads and brakes for my truck at a cost of $756. 59 because the truck was out of warranty. The service manager said to take my compliant to the factory. I have called repeatedly to the factory and am still waiting for a call back. Driving my truck is unsafe and I am risking my life everyday I get into it to drive to and from work. My major compliant with this issue is that it is not a warranty issue, it is a manufactured defect in the torque member kit and front brakes and I should not be responsible for the cost.
Bought 2006 Nissan Titan in November 2006. Immediately had vibration in steering when I applied the brakes. Dealer refused to change the rotors. I had the vehicle in 3 times. By 15000 miles, vehicle would vibrate violently when braking was applied. I had to change the front rotors and pads. At 27000 miles, the same has occurred. Again, dealer would not changed the rotors. They told me had I came in earlier, they would have. This is the 3rd set of front rotors. Vehicle shakes violently, and seems out of control when braking in tight turns, such as on/off ramps of highways.
Nissan north America has incorrectly defined the condition "brake judder" as steering wheel shake, body vibration or brake pedal pulsation while braking (emphasis mine), especially at highway speeds. My problem manifested itself at highway speeds while no braking was being accomplished, and was extreme after the purchase of new premium tires (toyo open country h/t). While a fix has been offered for "brake judder" as Nissan defines it, I was told at two different Nissan dealers that it would not remedy my problem. My problem surfaced before the 36 month/ unlimited mileage limitation, but I did not utilize the warranty coverage because my situation did not fit the definition. An independent tire dealer mechanic (who used to work for Nissan) indicated that defective rotors were indeed the problem, and internet forums and lemon law websites supported his claim. Since I had exceeded the 36 month limit by 90 days, I elected to let the local independent tire dealer install the Nissan parts. He was correct! problem solved (at least for now). I called Nissans consumer affairs line to complain, and to let them know that I felt that a safety recall should have been implemented because of the extreme safety implications involved--and not the company cost saving measures of a couple of tsbs and a feebly modified basic auto warranty. Nissan is acutely aware that they have a problem. She asked me what Nissan na could do for me? I replied, "pay for the parts and labor that it cost me to fix my truck, which total $747. 65. " she asked if I had the receipts for the repairs and I answered in the affirmative. When I disclosed that and independent tire dealer had installed the Nissan parts (done by a former Nissan technician), reimbursement for parts and labor were resolutely denied because a Nissan dealer didn't do the job (the same folks who told me I no longer had warranty coverage, and that the fix" would not remedy my particular problem). Purchased 2005 Nissan Titan truck on 2/1/2005. On 4/21/05 with 6,000 miles, truck shook/shimmied when applying brakes. Under warranty, Nissan dealer replaced front pads and resurfaced the front rotors. On 6/23/05 with 11,000 miles, truck again shook/shimmied when applying brakes. Still under warranty, Nissan dealer replaced front and rear pads and rotors again! on 1/14/08, needed to replace the crappy goodyear wrangler sr-a (p265/70r18) tires that came with the truck (also had 3 flat tires) even though I rotated them regularly (less than 40,000 miles). Today, the tire center indicated I needed new brakes. Called Nissan dealer and am again taking the truck into service to correct and get new rotors/pads. By the way, the warranty on my truck for this repair runs out on 2/1/08. Going forward, I will have to be responsible to pay. This stinks! how come there hasn't been a recall and corrective procedure implemented? $37,000 vehicle!.
I bought my 2005 Nissan Titan crew cab 4x4 le new in may of 2005. Since then I have had to have my brakes/rotors replaced and resurfaced 3 times do to sever brake vibration. The first time was at 7500 miles, second was at 15000 miles and now at 25000 miles. This is horrible and very dangerous. The brakes are obviously undersized for a vehicle that is advertised to tow 10,000 lbs, and I am having these problems without ever towing anything.
: the contact stated while applying brake pressure at various speeds, the pedal went all the way to the floor and there was an increased stopping distance. The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who determined the front brake pads needed to be replaced. Afterwards, the problem persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who determined this was the way the brakes were designed. The manufacturer was alerted.
: the contact stated the brake pedal was soft and when making a sudden stop, the brake had to be pumped in order to stop. The brake light illuminated on the vehicle. The pads and rotors were changed twice, but the problem persisted. There was a vibration in the steering wheel.
: the contact stated when the brake pedal was applied, the brakes shook, vibrated and stopping power was diminished. The dealership replaced the front rotors and pads five times. The first time the pads and rotors were replaced after 4,000 miles. The fifth time the front pads and rotors were replaced at 27,000 miles. The contact was unsure of the mileage in between. The vehicle was at the dealership awaiting repair.
The vehicle had warped front rotors from day of purchase. The steering wheel shook from side to side during test drive after applying the bake at about 50 to 60 miles per. I had to take it back to Nissan dealer to replace the brakes and rotors under warranty the truck had 632 miles at the time. That was in 2006. Just recently I had the brakes replaced again the pads were not worn out completely but the rotors were warped at 33,673 miles. I paid another Nissan dealer to have pads and rotors replaced for $600 that seem to be the minimum charge.
I had a heavy pulsating of the steering column and brake pedal during routine braking I informed my dealer of this at 8500 miles and was informed this is normal. At 9,000 miles I was insistent that they look at my truck and they had to replace the front brake rotors, pads, torque member, replaced rear brake pads and machine the rear rotors, I was informed that this would need to be done about every 6,000 to 9,000 miles because the braking system is too small for a truck this size.
2005 Nissan titian pu truck kc front brake and rotor wheel shudder lose of brake pedal.
I noticed my steering wheel would shudder when braking. I have 12,500 on the vehicle. After calling the dealership what up they said they get back with me. . .
I have a 2004 Nissan Titan le extend cab with off road package and towing package. I have had to have the brakes looked at about every 20k miles. I currently have 67k on it, and I had it in the shop for 3 day while waiting on Nissan corp to decide if they would still cover the brake defect. The dealer told us they could only turn the rotors and replace the pads, which they did 2x's. Now it needs new rotors and pads, and suddenly the recall is no longer in effect, so I will have to pay over $500 to get this done. I refuse, and I am still waiting on Nissan corp to call me. I will never buy another Nissan again, their customer service is horrible.
The consumer owns a 2005 Nissan Titan pickup truck and has to replace the brakes at 2,700 miles. The dealership is the one that changed the brakes. The dealer said that if they had to change the brakes again to bring the truck back in. The front rotors and pads were replaced, the back rotors were resurfaced , and the pads were replaced. The truck is driving fine now. The consumer has not contacted Nissan.
I purchased my brand new Nissan Titan June 16th 2005 my husband and I decided to take our family own a road trip to texas for the 4th of July. 2 weeks after I returned I had about 5,000 miles on the truck and notice that my steering wheel was vibrating as I stopped on my brakes, I called service department and they said that this is a common problem bring it in and we will fix it , so I asked what was the common problem and she said the rotors and brake pads burn out and that last month they just received the new component for this problem. Now my problem have with Nissan corp. Is that I was own the road with my 2 children and husband sounds scary to me, if they new that this was a problem why not do a national recall or even call the customers who just purchased a new truck within that month. But no Nissan is trying to cover there butts and not put it out to the public but I tell you one thing Nissan corp. Is looking for a big fat legal matters with the customers.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Titan. The dealer replaced the pads and rotors due to a recall on the vehicle. While coming to a stop at 5 mph, the vehicle rattled. The dealer replaced the pads and rotors again, however, the failure continued to occur. The recall number was unknown. The current mileage was 42,000 and failure mileage was 15,000. Updated 09/19/07.
Purchased a new 2005 Nissan Titan 4-door pick-up truck in February 2005. Both the manufacturer as well as the dealership knew of an existing safety problem regarding the braking system of both 2004 and 2005 Titan pick-up truck models, but failed to alert myself of the problem. I had to threaten to sue the dealership to provide and install the manufacturer's suggested replacement parts to resolve the issue. The replacement parts were installed less than 60 days ago, and the problem has resurfaced. When I spoke with 2 separate Nissan corporation representatives, they provided me false information, and they told me they considered the matter closed and if I was not satisfied then I should contact a lemon-law attorney! I demand the manufacturer and the dealer to refund my money entirely! they fraudently sold me a vehicle that is not safe to be on the road. Additionally, 2 additional problems regarding the driver's power seat and the radio have surfaced and the both the dealer and the manufacturer have done nothing to fix these problems as well.
