I have a 2023 Nissan Titan xd 4x4. Recently I have experienced a major malfunction with the automatic braking system. While driving the vehicle I have experienced several times that the front left wheel is locking up briefly and pulling me sharply to the left. I have almost slid into other vehicles and guardrails during this malfunction. I immediately brought it to my local Nissan dealer,(coggin Nissan) in jacksonville FL. And reported the problem on three occasions. They offered no findings or solutions to correct the problem. They take it for a short test drive and state everything is working properly. I explained this is a random problem and usually occurs when taking right hand curves and has caused me to lose control of the vehicle. Nothing has been done by the dealer to remedy the problem though most online forums point to a wheel speed sensor. I have also relayed that when its raining and this happens the front crash detector symbol illuminates briefly and I've shown them a picture taken from my cell phone. I feel any further driving of this vehicle puts myself, my family and other drivers at risk.

On [xxx], my 2012 Nissan Titan was serviced by pep boys in gainesville, FL for brake-related work. After they returned the truck, the brake assembly was reinstalled incorrectly — the caliper was not secured properly and the rotors were damaged/warped as a result. This failure created an immediate and severe safety risk. My father drove the vehicle shortly afterward, unaware of the problem, which could have led to complete brake failure at speed and a serious crash or fatality. The issue was later inspected and confirmed by a pep boys location in tampa, FL, which documented that the prior service work left the brake assembly in an unsafe, dangerous condition. There were no warning lamps or dashboard messages prior to the discovery of the defect. The unsafe condition was only discovered after the truck was brought to another pep boys location for inspection. This defect and improper repair practice by the service provider placed my fathers safety and the safety of others at significant risk. I am submitting this report to document the incident and to ensure that similar unsafe repair practices are investigated and prevented in the future. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Bought my 2023 Nissan Titan pro-4x from dealership may of 2023. Never been involved in a collision. So there should be no reason it feels as if something is loose on the underside. There have been similar reports of this vibration/shaking such as this one: “Nissan Titan pro-4x 4wd was bought new from dealership. Have had issues with the truck downshifting hard when slowing down since purchase. The truck lurches forward under 5mph - 10mph and feels like you are being rearended by another vehicle. Identical issue to NHTSA complaints 11578467 and 11539769. ” I have also had it happen once so far. I have been driving no more than maybe 10mph and it recognized something in front of the sensor and the truck slammed on the brakes to a stop. Mind you I was in an empty parking lot. On long drives, my forward collision sensor will randomly illuminate for no reason. It was do it in all season but more frequently in the winter. I used to own a 2017 Nissan Titan sv. Never once had an issue. I’m not sure what’s going on with Nissans quality control but this is insane. I would honestly like some sort of remedy before I have no other choice than to trade the truck in. .
The vehicle lurches forward during stopping for a traffic light, stop sign, etc. Feels like a possible transmission issue, like a hard downshift, but the lurch is a safety issue. Has been happeneing since the truck was purchased, and the dealer service has been unable to resolve. Service manager drove in the truck and confirmed the jolt forward. Forums indicate this issue is occurring with other 2024 Titan trucks. The lurch forward can interfere with stopping distance since the lurch is stronger than the braking efficiency during that sudden jolt. This issue has been ongoing since November 2023 with no resolution.

I was driving on the highway at 70 mph and for no reason the emergency brake activated and stopped the truck. I am very scared because it has happened so many times. I always drive with my child on board, I am afraid that this will end in a rollover or death. At the time of the incident the truck is already done all recalls and updates softwares.

My Titan had no real indicators or trouble codes but failed into limp mode and began to smoke and caught on fire! Nissan refused to investigate as they claimed the 2021 was unaffected but shares the same manufacturer plant and engine harness from the 2020.

The truck was parked on hill and as I unlocked it, it rolled down 2 blocks. Hit a brick wall and finally went into a yard and hit a parked car. This is the second time this truck has rolled down. First time, I was able to catch it but this time I couldn’t. It was horrific to witness.
There has been multitude of this issue if you search the Titanxd forums. Same thing happens to everyone. Abs, traction control, and the 4wd warning flashes on the dash. After this happens, it changes the characteristics of how the truck drives. Rapid shift, high rpm shifts, which are extremely hard to control on the highway. Also mentioning the abs brake not working. Nissan has been changing out transfer cases because of this. The vehicle is extremely dangerous cause of these issues. I hope this makes headway to Nissan corporate.

I was traveling on the interstate at about 50 miles an hour. I went under a bridge and my front crash avoidance sensors malfunctioned and the breaks were applied. My truck completely locked down to a stop and I could not get the truck to move. I in turn was hit in the rear end by a semi truck. The local Nissan dealership started that it was a known.
I purchased this vehicle on 05/16/23, four days later the check engine light along with the abs and traction control light came on. I took the truck to the dealership service center, after a week I was called to pick up the truck. On the way home the same lights came on again. I returned the truck to the service center for repair. After two weeks I was called to pick up the truck. Two days later the lights have came back on. After checking several forums online I noticed that there were many people with the same truck experiencing the exact same problem.

The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Titan. The contact stated while driving 60 mph and attempting to slow down, the brake pedal displayed an abnormal pulsation. The vehicle seemed to return to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined there was excessive wear on the front and rear rotors, as well as excessive wear on the rear brake pads. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was 33,000.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while driving at 20 mph, the brakes seized, causing the vehicle to rear-end another vehicle. The b-lsd and abs warning lights were illuminated. No air bags were deployed. The contact did not sustain any injury, and medical attention was not received. Two passengers in the other vehicle later sustained bodily injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicles involved in the collision were able to drive away from the scene. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the incorrect abs module was installed and that the abs module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to the delta stroke sensor malfunctioning. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 226,000.
The parking brake has never been sufficient to prevent the vehicle from rolling slightly even after the vehicle has been placed in park. There is no audible alarm if you back up and the parking brake is set. The engine torque allows you to drive forward and reverse with ease even with the brake set, and a small dash light is the only indication that the brake is still set. When asking the dealership to adjust the brake and fix the issue they require the customer to pay for the service despite the brake being faulty from manufacture.
The contact stated that his friend owns a 2007 Nissan Titan. The contact stated while driving and hauling a sailboat the brake pedal was depressed however the vehicle failed to stop immediately as it rolled to a stop. The abs warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure cause however the dealer was able to replicate the failure on a test drive. The dealer stated that the front end of the vehicle was defective. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that this was an ongoing failure with the vehicle as when driving at various speeds, the brake pedal was depressed, and the vehicle failed to stop immediately. The manufacturer was contacted and informed him that the “statute of limitation” had expired and no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.

The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Titan. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph and descending a hill, the contact went to depress the brake pedal and felt the pedal go to the floor. The contact stated that she pumped the brakes but the vehicle would not slow down. The contact then used the gear lever to shift to neutral (n) and then to park (p), the vehicle stopped, she turned the vehicle off. The contact stated that prior to the brake failure her dash board lights had all begun to flash on and off. The contact had turned the vehicle on and brake functionality had returned. The contact stated that the failure had begun intermittently but had gradually become more frequent, to the point where she had three of the brake failure and dash board light displays in one day. The contact had been unable to schedule an appointment with a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been diagnosed and had not been repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 88,290.
Attempted to shift vehicle into four wheel drive high mode. 4wd error message appeared in center display, as well as traction control and abs warning indicators. 4wd was inoperative. Attempted to shift into four wheel drive high multiple times, with no success. Not sure if the traction control and abs warning indicators are actually indicating that these systems are inoperative or not. These warnings stay on after switching back to 2wd mode, and are only extinguished after the engine is shut off and restarted. I believe the lack of 4wd can be considered a safety issue depending on the weather conditions and where the vehicle is located when this failure occurs. Dealer confirmed issue, and is replacing the transfer case, under warranty. I did a bit of research on an internet forum covering this vehicle, and found that others have had this same issue, and it has been identified as a broken shift fork in the transfer case.

When driving and pressing on brake pedal the brakes do not engage. If you let go of the pedal and reapply it will start breaking. But they don't work frequently.
The part that failed was the delta stroke sensor I was coming home from the store and suddenly I noticed the brake light came on and when I pressed the brakes it made a grinding noise like it was trying to lock the brakes so it was almost impossible to stop.
Brakes will not hold pressure.

Nissan of irvine failed to put all six lug nuts back on my driver side rear tire after a tire rotation. As I was getting on the freeway less than a mile from the dealership I began to lose control of my truck and my wheel came off.
1/ I was driving on highway when truck just shut down . Fuel gauge reads that truckhas 1/4 tank left of fuel but gas tank empty. 2/ while driving the brake pedal goes to the floor like it has no brakes. I check the fluids and its full. Turn the truck off and on and it works again .
I rented vehicle from budget rent a car system. The electrical engine computer system components malfunctioned and went out while I was driving. The rental car company sold or destroyed the vehicle upon request. My safety was compromised involving me in a accident. The Nissan dealerships in philadelphia & ohio confirmed several unresolved recalls. The vehicle was inspected by Nissan dealership after accident on behalf of budget rent a car but Nissan dealership refused to fix recalls on a wrecked vehicle. When rented from airport the vehicle appeared to be fine until electrical issues caused vehicle to become powerless causing wreck.
Leaking axles seals after multiple replacements and incidents on road. Not covered under warranty or recall even though there are thousands of reports for this issue and axle overheating. Vehicle axle broke near bearing going 65 mph on highway with no warning two weeks ago 9/10/2019 there is still no safety recall.
The contact owns a 2004 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle and depressing the brake pedal, the pedal travel distance was extended, and the vehicle would not immediately stop. After turning off and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated as designed. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. No service was performed. The failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.
Traveling at 25-30 mph on a dry, grass covered road, applied the brakes to slow down, no braking occurred; I then pushed on the brakes as hard as I could, I felt the abs pulsating, began to hear a "clunking" sound and feel a clicking in my brake pedal matching the timing of the clunking sound. Since the brakes were not responding I then turned the wheel to the left attempting to turn the truck, it did not respond; I then turned the steering wheel to the right, no response. The truck continued straight into a tree, head on collision. Not watching the speed I assume I was doing 20-25mph when the truck hit the tree, no airbags deployed. After the collision, when preparing for the tow, it was observed the drive shaft was disconnected at mid-way of the truck, not snapped, just off. This seemed a strange result with a head-on collision; the tow driver made the same observation.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Nissan Titan. While attempting to shift from four wheel drive to two wheel drive, the abs warning indicator illuminated. Also, when the brake pedal was depressed, the wheels locked up. The vehicle was taken to Nissan of reno (865 kietzke ln, reno, nv 89502, (775) 360-4332) where it was diagnosed that the abs actuator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 37,000.
While driving down the mountain I attempted to brake. The brake pedal had to be pushed entirely to floor to engage. It was difficult to get the truck to slow down. Luckily after several attempts were made I was able to get the truck to stop. I took the truck to Nissan to be evaluated. They stated it was a failure of the abs actuator and said they looked it up and there were no recalls at this time. The failure of this part could have cost me my life.

Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Nissan Titan. The rear end malfunctioned. A pin and a spider gear broke making the rear end useless. The rear brakes did not work, the vehicle did not accelerate and had to be costed off the road. The dealer open road motorsports 1175 village way, monroe, wa 98272 (360) 489-6556 where the vehicle was purchased 2 months ago said they had done the inspections and there was nothing they could do. The manufacturer stated that there was no recall and there was nothing they could do for the contact. The failure mileage was 86,000. Tf.
The rear axle seals on my 2007 Nissan Titan continue to leak gear oil. I have replaced the seals three times including purchasing and replacing the entire axle shaft, seal and spacer assembly on the third time. These were 2 axle shaft assemblies which cost me over $1000. I have also installed a breather tube on the rear axle and insured it is allowing air to get in and vent the rear axle. It's been a few months after installation and the seals are leaking again. My rear brakes and parking brake are soaked with oil and the parking brake no longer holds the truck in place when parked on a incline/decline.
