3 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2005 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 05/30/2016

Fuel system, other:storage:fuel gauge system recall for 2005 Nissan Titan - Nissan clearly has a recall for the 2005 Nissan Titan fuel gauge that is not displaying correctly. Upon contacting Nissan, they have said the VIN I provided is not affected which is ridiculous as my 2005 Nissan has the same problem as the 340,000 trucks that are affected. Nissan has clearly not included all VIN's that are affected. This is a dangerous problem as there is not indication of how much fuel is in the vehicle since the gauge will not function properly. If the vehicle quits on a hwy due to running out of fuel, Nissan should be completely liable for any and all damage, injuries that this may cause on an open highway.

8 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2005 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 12/01/2012

My 2005 Nissan Titan is exhibiting the failures as outlined in Nissan NHTSA recall campaign 06v459000 (electrical system / wiring harness) and NHTSA recall campaign 10v074000 (fuel system / fuel gauge system). After reporting my issues to my local Nissan dealer and Nissan consumer affairs, I was told my VIN was not included in either recall campaign. Nissan consumer affairs finally gave me a case number and told me to have my local Nissan dealer diagnose the truck and provide the written diagnosis and cost estimate to a Nissan consumer affairs specialist. After paying $85 for a diagnosis, the local dealer confirmed in a written diagnosis and estimate, that my truck was experiencing the same failures that the 2 recalls cite and that my truck needed the same remedies as outlined in the recalls. After providing this information to the Nissan consumer affairs specialist, Nissan declined to cover my repairs stating that my VIN was not included, I did not have a complete history of Nissan servicing my vehicle and that my vehicle was outside the limited warranty term. I knew my truck was outside the warranty term, my truck needs to be included in the recall campaign, which has nothing to do with warranty. Nissan is negligent in not including my truck in the recall. I have seen this same complaint from numerous others in my same situation, on this website and other online forums. The recall needs to be expanded as they obviously are not covering all vehicles affected by the failures cited.

9 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2005 Nissan Titan

The vehicle was taken back to the dealer in three different occasions within the week to repair the fuel system. The dealer repaired the fuel level sender and the ecm relay. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 89,000.

10 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2004 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 07/14/2012

I was traveling towing a 33 ft camper. Usually tow at about 62 mph. All of a sudden the truck cuts out then turns back on and "bucks". My lights on my dash light up like a color blinking christmas tree. My speedometer goes all the way to 140 mph, my rpms max out, my fuel gauge goes up and down along with the temp gauge. Furthermore all the gauges and warning lights flash or move in no form or fashion. Steering gets stiff along with the brakes because the truck shuts off. I controlled the truck to avoid crashing in between the on and off periods. This happened several times. Thought it was wiring from camper or brake controller. However, over the last few weeks from about mid sept it has progressively gotten worse. Now I can't go out of the driveway before the truck starts acting up. There is a bad accident waiting to happen. In my past experience with Nissan is they are reluctant to say anything is wrong and to fix things. I have had enough go wrong with my truck from brakes, electrical, and rear end unit. Just last weekend 20 oct 12 I took the truck on about a 15 mile round trip and it acted up again. Between July and sept 2012 the truck would start the shut completely off in parked position. It still does that now too. The truck is now parked until I figure what is the problem. I don't have mega bucks to fix it! someone said Nissan has a computer recall but I have not been notified and I contacted a dealer but they have not called back. Its been 3 days now. They said the description I gave them matches the recall??????????.

11 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2005 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 06/14/2012

I was driving home on a state route with a speed limit of 55 mph. The vehicle indicated there was 1/4 of a tank of fuel left and then the engine abruptly shut off while I was going 55 mph with traffic behind me and very limited run off on the side of the highway. When the vehicle shut off I lost all power steering and the vehicle became very hard to stop. Luckily I was in a truck and was able to pull of onto the grass on the side of the road, otherwise it may have caused an accident. I did a little research and found there was already an incident filed for this, but when I called somehow my vehicle wasn't covered, even though my symptoms matched the NHTSA recall 10v07400 exactly. It was a very scary experience and could have been much worse had the road been busier or I hadn't pulled off. I had to wait for gas on a very busy road with very little room between my truck and other traffic. I think if my vehicle isn't covered under the recall it should be expanded since it was the exact same scenario as other Nissan's were having, and could have been much worse.

30 Other Fuel System Fuel Gauge problem of the 2005 Nissan Titan

Failure Date: 04/12/2005

Purchased a new 2005 Nissan Titan 4-door pick-up truck in February 2005. Both the manufacturer as well as the dealership knew of an existing safety problem regarding the braking system of both 2004 and 2005 Titan pick-up truck models, but failed to alert myself of the problem. I had to threaten to sue the dealership to provide and install the manufacturer's suggested replacement parts to resolve the issue. The replacement parts were installed less than 60 days ago, and the problem has resurfaced. When I spoke with 2 separate Nissan corporation representatives, they provided me false information, and they told me they considered the matter closed and if I was not satisfied then I should contact a lemon-law attorney! I demand the manufacturer and the dealer to refund my money entirely! they fraudently sold me a vehicle that is not safe to be on the road. Additionally, 2 additional problems regarding the driver's power seat and the radio have surfaced and the both the dealer and the manufacturer have done nothing to fix these problems as well.
