Other Fuel System Tank Filling/charging Problems of Nissan Titan

I purchased a used 2005 Nissan Titan with almost 117,000 miles on it. Even though it was 14 years it was in excellent condition and well maintained. I searched the Nissan website for any possible recalls because another Titan I had looked at had several recalls. The search showed no recalls for my VIN number. Then I called the local Nissan dealer to verify the information. After 2 short trips I noticed it did not use enough gasoline to move the gauge from slightly over a quarter of a tank. On the third trip the engine quit on a rural paved road, fortunately there was a large grassy area I could coast to. I knew some Titans had been recalled for the fuel gauge showing around a quarter of a tank when they were empty. Fortunately again I was only 2 miles from home where I had a gas can with gas in it and my wife was at home to bring it to me. After filling all 5 gallons into the tank, the truck cranked up and drove with no problems. I immediately refueled at the next fuel station where it took another 23 gallons to fill up, 28 gallons total, that is the entire capacity of the fuel tank. I feel that Nissan put my and my families life at risk by not acknowledging a wider problem and expanding the fuel level sending unit recall. Fuel level is a safety concern right after brakes, steering and tires, not to be overlooked. This situation could have ended in tragedy, many people have lost their life because they ran out of gasoline and it put them in a dangerous situation. Even though the engine shutting off is not a danger in itself, like with an airplane, it's what happens after the vehicle stops and the other traffic is still moving that results in tragedy.

Fuel tank whistles while filling. Also, this causes fuel to stop filling. And, at times, it causes fuel to spill onto side of truck and ground this could lead to a fire. This has happened several times, at different fueling locations.

When filling gas tank it has a high pitch whistle and blows gas back out all over the side of the truck and on the ground causing a fire hazard. Nissan knows of the issue and has issued a TSB but I feel it is very dangerous and needs a recall before someone gets burnt or killed thanks for your help.

Something wrong with fuel tank as it blew a hole outward from inside the tank like an exit wound from a shotgun shell. This caused the 26 gallons of gas to flow out of the tank and lost pressure. Spraying gas on the rear wheel and brake pads which could have ignited if sparked. No idea when it occured as we were not in the vehicle it was parked after the 3rd filling of the tank and about 100 miles of driving on that full tank.

The gas guage im goning to say sticks for a lack of words but it will say 1/4 tank then instantly drop which we have gotten used to since this has be ongoing and today on my way to the gas station it was at a quarter tank and mid turn died like it ran out of gas since then I've fed it more gas and got it to crank but its not displaying any gas in it by the guage or information center and giving it gas is difficult I put the pump in and start filling and it spits the gas back out.

Cannot put gas in vehicle without blow back. "check engine soon" light came on about a week ago and when I went to fill with gas. . . Had blow back. Code was p1446. . . Vent valve closed. Replaced vent valve solenoid, cleared code. Light stayed off for 2 days and then I tried to fill tank. . . Got blow back again and "check engine soon" light came back on just 2 miles down the road after filling on a city street now what ???.

Tl the contact owns a 2005 Nissan Titan. While the vehicle was stationary and while driving various speeds, the seat belts and air bags failed to operate properly. When the contact fastened the driver's seat belt to the harness, the message "seat belt, air bags" immediately flashed on the instrument panel. In addition, the contact stated that the fuel tank failed on more than one occasion. Upon filling the fuel tank halfway, fuel spilled onto the ground. It took the contact approximately five minutes or more to fill the fuel tank halfway. Courtesy Nissan of tampa (3800 west hillsborough avenue, tampa, florida 33614, (813) 235-0318) diagnosed that the wiring harness was faulty and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that a recall letter was received for the fuel tank; however, a VIN search showed that there were no recalls associated with the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and provided the contact with case numbers: 28501379 and 32622188. The manufacturer also provided the option of a vehicle trade-in. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

While driving down the highway the truck stalled and lost all power. After getting to the shoulder of the highway, the truck still had battery power and wanted to crank to start but acted like it wasn't getting gas. After calling around we determined thru a Nissan service advisor that we should try filling the tank with gas, even though I was telling him it read between a quarter and half a tank. After putting in 5 gallons and turning the key and cranking it a few seconds, it started right up. It has done this at various times since this first occurence and continues to vary. I now have to keep no less than half a tank of gas at all times or I will suddenly lose power and have to pull off. Nissan has a voluntary safety recall campaign 2005-2009 armada and Titan fuel gauge inaccuracy, campaign id#r1010 & NHTSA#10v-074, but say that it does not include my VIN. I have tried repeatedly to ask Nissan how this safety campaign does not affect my vehicle if it too has the same problem, as I've been told its the fuel sending unit which is what this recall campaign covers.
