Takata recall we received a recall notice for the takata airbags. The notice states that the problem with the airbags could cause injury or death. But the parts are not available for replacement until spring 2018! this is completely unacceptable.
Takata recall - I have contacted Nissan's corporate offices after calling local Nissan dealers to coordinate the replacement. I was told by the dealers that the recall and replacement of parts will not begin to take place until spring of 2018. I was told the same by their corporate offices. I explained that I don't feel comfortable and safe operating the vehicle and was advised to contact my local dealership for a loaner. I was told by all of my local dealers that my request is not feasible as their loaner vehicles are limited and intended for other purposes. I informed them that it was their corporate office who offered it as a solution, but they said no. When icalled their corporate offices to inquire as to why I was advised to request a loaner in the meantime, they asked me to be patient and wait until they're ready to replace the parts. Again, I asked why the aforementioned solution was initially offered if it wasn't an option. I was met with the same statement and their representative stated that to date, there have been no incidents reported involving this particular issue. I asked, if that's the case, how was your company made aware of this safety issue and I wasn't given an answer. They repeated themselves and offered no viable solution. At the moment, I need the vehicle for transportation to/from work and I pray that I don't get involved in any type of accident. Since then, I've been receiving solicited calls from the dealerships regarding the recall. However, it's not to replace the defective part(s), it's to purchase another vehicle as a solution to the recall. It's preposterous that the would even call regarding the recall to solicit sales instead of actually addressing the issue.

Obviously no one in this organization reads peoples letters. I have not requested to purchase a Versa, I already own a Versa that for the last 2 years has been under recall for an exploding airbag that can cause death or injury, and that Nissan hopes to get it fixed sometime next year. I was not to let anyone ride in the front passenger seat for a year because of the passenger airbag, so passengers were relegated to the back seat. . Now it's the drivers airbag. Will Nissan recommend driving from the back seat? my letter said I was interested in the loaner car mentioned in the newest recall letter I received. If you do not have the authority to speak with me in regards to that matter, perhaps you could direct me to someone who may. This is the letter I sent to Nissan after which I was flooded with calls and emails because I showed interest in purchasing a Versa. The recall said spring of 2018 to repair, I'm in florida, the capitol of high humidity. The passenger airbag was a year from the promised fix date, and I cannot drive around waiting for my steering wheel to explode. If they can build new cars, they have airbags available. Someone needs to pressure them to get this done or buy these vehicles back. Thanks for your attention.

Nissan recall -I was never notified about the initial air bag recall on 5/23/17 recall #16v-349. They notified me this week of the recent issue #17v-449, but they're not offerring to remedy it until spring of 2018. Does that qualify as the "timely manner" stated on this site? or would I possibly have ground to request reimbursement and turn the vehicle in? I worry about driving the car that long, and questioned whether that fell under the laws guidelines. It just seems like an issue that they didn't notify me last year when the first recall happened. Thanks for your time. Dalynn herbel (gallegly).
Takata recall I was contacted about this recall by the dealership where the car was purchased approximately 1 1/2 months ago (September 2017). I was told then that the recalled airbag would not be resolved until sometime in the spring of 2018 roughly placing the needed recall 6 months after the recall was announced. An offer of a loaner car was made but the question then was, "what was I supposed to do with the affected vehicle?" I was told to leave it sit in my garage until the replacement could be made. I don't think 6 months difference between a recall notice and the actual replacement is appropriate even if a loaner car was offered. The replacement should be completed in a more timely fashion. What options do I have?.

Takata recall - I received an interim owner notification-safety recall from Nissan the airbag recall. That notification states that Nissan anticipates the replacement part(s) to become available in the spring of 2018 and I had to wait for a second notice when the part becomes available. I called the dealership immediately and they aren't even starting a parts waiting list or scheduling appts until the spring of 2018 and that no alternative parts (I. E. New steering wheel with out the takata airbag) were available. This is my only vehicle and I use it to transport my special needs toddler (4 ada diagnoses) to her special needs school. I've been renting a car or hitching a ride to provide her transportation. She already has multiple disabilities and we shouldn't be left no option other than to run the risk of additional injury to her. We live in a rural area and have had to cut our food budget in order to pay for the rental to get her to special school. Waiting until spring of 2018 to start a part(s) and service waiting list is unacceptable. I've just received the notice chapter 11 bankruptcy, so we missed the ppic deadline before we knew there was one. Now the restitution fund deadline is the end of Nov but those claim forms are not available on the tkrestructuring. Com website. There has to be a legal way, for takata to provide a rental car or temp replacement so our family is sacrificing basic needs in order for me to get her safely to school and we will not be able to continue this expense until sometime in the vague spring 2018. I've been to the.

Takata recall: I was not informed about this recall until a bare mention in January, 8 months into the recall. Since repair is not available, it requires me to keep front passenger seat empty, and I was not told this.
