1999 Oldsmobile Alero. Consumer writes in regards to ignition switch replacement and seeks reimbursement for ignition switch recall repairs. The consumer stated there were no other keys on the key chain. Just a couple of days after the purchase of the vehicle the brakes were making a bad scrubbing noise, and I had no turn signal at all I noticed a clicking sound coming from the hazard warning light . During the clicking sound the turn signal would work at times and I would smell something like a burning smell. While the car was park and no one around it the lights would come on inside and out by their self and this causes my battery to go dead and I have to boost it off. I have contacted the car dealer that I purchased it from and they were very rude and hateful and told me it was my problem and that there is nothing they can do about it. That they sold it to me at a good deal and they could not help me.

2003 Oldsmobile Alero passlock security system cause my car not to start, I have to reset which takes over 10 minutes, and praying it will start after that. But at times the battery went dead before the security light quit flashing as alot longer then 10 minutes have a new battery in the car. 4-09-2011 was in a parking lot was the 6th time this happen. Then on 4-11-2011 when going to take mom for doctors appointment. Again next day after a funeral would not start again. On 4-13-2011 took to car dealer and they had to put in a new ignition switch which costs me $575. I believe this should have been recalled as so many others having the same problem. This may end me buying another Oldsmobile or chevy
I was getting so afraid to even drive it any more and be stranded somewhere, have not been taking my great grandkids in the car as the are ages 5 and under. Why is there not a recall with so many others having this same problem.

Battery died @ gas station(6yr/75k repl model)/when rpl'd found acid on abs module/brake lines under battery. Gm case #c05363927-gm won't repair or pay for diag of brake sys or reimburse $75 for battery that was under 2. 5 yrs old(label on battery says 6yr-75000 mile battery). Multiple occurences noted on NHTSA complaints database lead me to believe gm is aware of problem already. One customer odi id #868902 had acid eat hole in brake line. Other occurences on file already.
