2 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager

Failure Date: 10/14/2005

In 2005 while entering onto the highway going home from some personal appointments a small car hit our full size van from behind and caused us to flip over and roll over 8 times and slide at least 2 city blocks before it stopped. We were not even doing the speed limit when we were hit. The front window shattered and glass was in our eyes but our airbags did not deploy. We were stuck upside down my seat belt was stuck and my husband had to pull me out of the driver side window. I had to treat for tmj problems, stress and trauma in my neck and back for a few years and I still have some issues. Do we have a claim against the manufacturer?.

3 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2002 Plymouth Grand Voyager

Failure Date: 08/21/2005

The airbag warning light goes on and off while driving van, sometimes it stays on for a long time or other times its only on for a short time and then goes off. Each time it goes on you hear a warning chime. My search of the internet for this type of problem shows a recall on the 1998-2000 vans for a clockspring repair. I have also read that when the light is on, the airbags will not deploy. I have not confirmed this through a dealer. This sort of problem is a tough one to deal with as a comsumer because unless the light comes on and stays on, its hard for the dealer to find the problem. It would be interesting to know how many other consumers have this same problem and if these vehicles should come under a recall like the prior years.

6 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager

Failure Date: 08/16/2003

Please note the following recall:inivan recall b24, clockspring / warranty extension his recall involves Dodge caravan/grand caravan, Plymouth voyager/grand voyager and Chrysler town & country minivan's produced by daimlerchrysler from 1996 - 1998. The clockspring assembly that connects the steering wheel mounted electrical components to the electrical system, on the minivans, may lose the electrical connection to those components. This could cause the driver's airbag, horn and/or speed control system (if equipped) to be inoperative. An inoperative driver's airbag will not deploy and can result in increased injury to the driver in a frontal crash. A failed clockspring will cause the airbag warning light, on the minivan's instrument panel to illuminate intermittently while you are driving. If this occurs, contact your dealer immediately to have the airbag system inspected. If your dealer determines that the clockspring has failed, it will be replaced without charge to you. Document nogcd123353 the problem is in the 1999 model year as well. I inquired about this with the manufacturer but was basicly told "too bad" I find it hard to belive that the exact same problem found in a 1998 model could not exist in a 1999 model.

I had to seek medical treatment due to the safety features not performing. I was diagnosed as having a concussion, a contusion and a minor neck injury.
