Body Problems of Plymouth Neon

Approaching a stop sign, the vehicle suddenly came to a jarring stop after the right front wheel hit a small recessed gas company access cover, perhaps 2" deep and 6" in diameter. The frame member between the two front wheels cracked right through in a shower of rust. Fortunately this did not happen at higher speeds or major injuries could have occurred. 12 years seems too soon for this kind of undercarriage wear to have occurred. Car is scrap now but had been running well.

I have a 1998 Plymouth Neon. The roof of my car began peeling over a year ago, and has rapidly spread and now has rust developing. I have noticed several other Neons in my area with similar peeling problems. I have contacted crysler and the refuse to help since the warranty on the paint is 3 years/36,000 miles. I think that is ridiculous. Paint on a car should last much, much longer than 3 years.

While traveling on highway there is a knocking and vibration underneath the vehicle. Dealership is aware of problem.

Vehicle was involved in a frontal collision 0f 30-40 mph and front structure was damaged, poorly designed. Dealer and manufacturer were not notified at this time. Feel free to provide any further informatiom concerning this matter.

There is a loud noise when weather is cold and applying transmission. Transmission has a knocking noise. There is a water leak coming inside of vehicle. Two inches of water was coming inside. Dealership is aware of the problem. Mechanic told her that drainage hole wasn't big enough.

Everytime it rains water enters vehicle on the driver side front and back. I think the leak is in the door panel because the only place the water accumulates is on the floor in front and back driver side. I have searched everything - you cant see where it comes in but every time it rains I have to bail water out and then for the next week the windows fog up due to moisture in the car. Ive tried spraying wateron the vehical while someone was inside the vehical but still cant determine where the leak is coming from. The mechanics are even perplexed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Antifreeze is pooling in the rear passenger compartment floor, not coming from the trunk or from inside the passenger compartment. But floorboard rugs are soaked with antifreeze.

Glove compartment latch breaks.

When it rained the floor in the rear passenger side of the vehicle became wet.

The design of the spoiler for the vehicle blocks rear vision of the driver. Yh.

After speaking with other Neon owners, I have found that many have encountered the same problems-leaking interior, head gaskets busted, not to mention other problems, all of which are pretty expensive to have repaired.
