My car leaks water. My trunk leaks and the rear floor leaks on both sides. What is causing this it has done this since I have had the car but it has gotten worse. I have also replaced the engine at 36000 miles.

I bought the car and had great mileage for about 4 months. Now I get less than someone who owns a chevy camero that is 3 years older than my car. I went on a trip to southern illinois and 5 and 1/2 hour drive. I used all the oil in my car. I took it to a dealer and was told that I had blown a head gasket.
Constant replacement of tires on front drivers side, excessive wear, new tire only last about 6 to 7 months, have had alignment checked several times. Misfires a lot even though I get it tuned up every 3 months, excessive oil usage. Dealer gives me no good answers for this.

At 53,000 miles the head gasket on my 1998 Plymouth Neon failed. The repair cost approximately $700 and had to be made on an urgent basis by a certified non-dealer repair facility. This vehicle has a known history of this failure and a service bulletin was issued on sept. 8, 1999. The company has declined financial participation in the repair of this vehicle. As a known problem, I believe the company should bear the financial burden of this repair and issue a recall.
The engine mount bolt broke, which caused the engine to fall out of the vehicle and disconnected the brake line.

Cracked block with only 63,000 miles and less than 5 yrs old.
I have a 1996 Neon which I purchased used in August of 2001 with only 35,000 miles on it. About 3 months ago I took it in for my monthly oil change/lube and was told that my head gasket was cracked and that I would need to get it replaced. They told me it would be a $1200 repair. I began to call around and each place, when I mentioned the problem and the year/make/model of my car, told me that they could have guessed what the repair was that I needed just by me giving them the type of car I drive. I've called 5 places now to get a quote on this repair and prices range anywhere between $700 - $1200, depending on the shop I use. By the way - I lose about a quart of oil per week. I wanted to do a little research to see how common of a problem this is, so I went on the internet and found so many complaints that it blew my mind! I found out that there was a defect in the head gasket design in pre-99 models and Chrysler knew about it. It was never recalled, but as far as I am concerned it is a huge consumer fraud issue. I have found that 32% of Neon owners have had to replace this part - which is obviously extremely high. It really is too bad that Chrysler did not stand up for their product right away by voluntarily issuing a recall or by at least fixing the cars that were affected before the part was redesigned. I cannot afford a repair like this on my car - I bought a Neon because I thought they were reliable cars with great gas mileage, which I need for my long commute to work every day. If this is a problem the manufacturer knew about, I feel that they should be paying for the repair. What can I do?!.

These problems were found during a replacement of our third transmission. We are really upset with Plymouth/Dodge auto. We had this car for only a year and it has been nothing but trouble. Like I said, 3 transmissions, 1 engine due to head gasket problems. Now, the oil pressure sending unit, vehicle speed sensor, and the rear main oil seal. ----dims 11 ivoq entry after 12/12/01 cut-over to artemis-------769336.
I bought my Neon new. In three years the head gasket went and I am having problems with the fuel injection system and gas tank. Dealer says bad batch of gas has rusted out inside of gas tank and fuel injection system is also damaged. I am not a mechanic but to me this sounds very extreme. I would greatly appreciate any help you could be to me . Thank you for your time and effort. Sincerly, robert liples.
Blown head gasket. It's a Neon, the manufacturer is well aware of the problem but does nothing. This should be a recall!!!.
Engine check light illuminated. Driver took vehicle to dealer, and they stated that head gasket needed to be replaced. Please provide any further information.
Blown head gasket that will cost $800. 00 to fix.
Blown engine head gasket while driving, noticed loss of oil. Dealer was notified. Feel free to provide any further information.
These cars are none for faulty head gaskets no recall made yet.
From my mechanic's description, this is a major problem with this model, to the point a new style gasket is available but at a cost of well over $800+ in repair costs to the consumer, and I understand a lawsuit is being proposed.
While inspecting transmission problem dealer noticed, and informed consumer of front engine mounts going bad and needed to be replaced. Repairs made at consumer's expense. Feel free to provide any further information.
On several occassions we took vehical to the dealer and was told everything is fine just replace your brakes. After constently being sent away by the dealer, we eventually took the car to another mechanic and found out all kinds of problems: blown head gasket, replace the brakes (again), calipers drifting to one side, etc. My warranty just expired, but I think it should still be honored since the problems could have been fixed a long time ago.
Oil light came on. Check my oil and it was totally empty. Took it to the dealership because I knew there was a problem since it was not time for oil change. Stated that my head gasket went out.
The headgaskets on the Neons model years 95-99 go out continuously and diamler Chrysler will on pay to fix those they want too. I found out they pay for some people to fix their car but not others, especially those that wont take it to a Dodge dealer. I cant take my vehicle to anywhere but where I purchased the vehicle because of my warranty. The ac also continuously goes out.
While driving on the freeway, vehicle slipped out of gear and the and the engine began shaking, consumer was informed that the engine mounts had fractured.

I have owned my car for only 2 years and 7 months. I bought a new car so I would not have to go through all these problems. My warranty has expired but I feel that Chrysler isn't dealing with known issues that are a direct result of there own design flaws. I was given the goodwill warranty for my head gasket but was required to copay 250 dollars. My request to have my a/c fixed was denied even though there are documented warranties for other models with similar problems. My car is less than three years old and I shouldn't be having these types of problem and it wouldn't be bad if Chrysler would just take some ownership for there known but "secret" defects. I just want my car to work like a normal 2 and a half year old car and for Chrysler to stop pushing the problems off on the fact that our warranty has run out. The just don't seem to care.
Is there a head gasket recall on Neons? upon research, I found the following NHTSA item #'s that could indicate there is one. #sb601763,#sb602898 and #sb603107. If so, am I entitled to a refund on work done on my head gasket.
While traveling at 70 mph on freeway, lost feeling in steering, dealer found that engine mounts were loose, dealer replaced engine mounts.

My 97 Plymouth Neon is on its 3rd head gasket. The car has 90,000 miles on it but is should not have gone through 3 head gaskets. This is a problem that Chrysler knows about and keeps making new head gaskets to repair the problem. This has to be recalled because it cost me $770 to have it fixed at an independent shop. It should not cost me a dime to have the car fixed because it is a defect that Chrysler knows about.
The Neon was misfireing, replaced plugs two different times within 2 months, gas millage rotten took to dealer, they replaced the oxygen sensor, still having trouble, the car was in 3 times for that problem. For the past 1 1/2 months the vehicle has been loosing oil, leaving puddles all over, have put in 6 qts. Of oil on my own in the past 1 1/2 months, plus had a complete oil change. Found out the head gasket is bad, Chrysler says they have not hurd of any other Neons with this trouble. Tormohlens (dealer) also says there have been no other Neons with this trouble. Contacted other repair shops, was told this is a reaccuring problem with the Neons. Dealer offered to do it if Chrysler pay part, and then I have to pay $200. 00 deductable. If this is a known problem with Neons there should not be any cost. This is a problem that should be recalled if there are that many Neons with this problem. Will not fix at this time, not paying for. Attorney contacted.
Blown head gaskets in April 2000 costing approximately $950 --- replace engine (short block) in August 2000 costing approximately $2500. Bad wrist-pins and/or rocker arms due to faulty engine design by Chrysler. Chrysler should reimburse me!.
Blown head gasket and cracked head. Mechanic says will happen again in about a year as well he says it is a reaccuring problem for the Neons.
This car has been garaged for it's entire life. At 56,000 the paint is beginning to chip/pop off the car. Driver's side door trim has already been replaced by the dealer. Dealer cannot seem to fix any of the car's problems permanently. Head gasket and cylinder gaskest have been replaced at 32,000 and 50,000 respectively. Car is unfit and engine poorly designed as a whole. I have driven this car for 4. 5 years and have spent alot of money to keep it going.
Consumer has had nothing but problems with vehicle since purchase. Engine valve/ engine head gasket/air contioner: compressor & camshaft were replaced 2-3 times from 1998. Consumer has been misled each time . Appointments have been made for repairs.
Head gasket - 20,000 miles - 2nd head gasket & head at 27,800 miles - 3rd head gasket at 47,000 miles.
Blown head gasket.
Vehicle was experiencing problem with excessive loss of engine oil. Vehicle taken to independent repair shop, and informed consumer of a blown engine head gasket. Dealer was not contracted at this time.
Small leak from head gasket, has escallated to adding a quart every 2 weeks. This problem is one mentioned quite often and appears to be a manufacurer problem, maybe not Chrysler but certainly the maker of the gasket. Is Chrysler in litigation with the manufacturer and is something going to be done?.
