Air Bag Light On problems of the 2007 Saturn SKY - part 1

The airbag light on the dashboard stays on and the information center states to service air bag. I researched this problem and found that it is a common occurrence in these vehicles. Something to do with the sensors in the passenger and drivers seat. This occurs whenever the ignition is on.

My service air bag light has come on and will not go off. I have read many forums and see where a safety recall was issued for repairs due to this being a two seat vehicle # 17v061000, yet I did not get this recall. My vehicle will not pass inspection and I need this safety recall issue repaired at no cost to me. Please help with information as to where I need to go and how to get this issue repaired thank you.

The manufacturer was notified of the issue and were not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. However, the contact was provided case number 8-2976161178. My vehilce has 39,00 miles on it. The service airbag light stays on. I contacted gm and they said no recalls at this time and to check back periodically. Therefore if we all have this problem then definitely there is a need for gm to check all of this out. And most of these vehicles has very low miles on them.

2007 Saturn Sky redline at about 20000 miles service airbag light came on while passenger seat was occupied driving on highway about 50mph. Light came on intermittently whether seat was occupied or not. Now seems to stay on continually.

The airbag light lit up, the dealer checked it out and said it was the passenger seat occupancy sensor. Said it was the same one that was recalled on Cadillac cts but was t recalled on the Saturn ! I also check with the Cadillac dealership that the car came from and they said the same thing! As I was thedriving down the highway at 65 mph, the airbag light came on. The service airbag message came up and I noticed that the passenger airbag on/off light would alternate from on/off. The passenger was just sitting there in the seat properly. After I stopped another passenger got in and still stayed illuminated.

Passenger airbag does not respond to whether someone is sitting in the seat and the airbag light is on on dash.

Just driving out of parking lot and service airbag light illuminated. It appears as though a very significant number of other pontiac solstice and Saturn Sky owners share this problem and it is apparently a $1000 fix for a known design defect. This should be a recall.

The sensor in the passenger seat failed, giving an airbag warning indicator light. Nobody was in the seat and it was not being used at the time of the failure. This is the second 2007 gm vehicle I had that failed at around the 40,000 mile mark for the same part. The passenger seat sensor is defective. Service airbag light is on. This is a known problem with other Sky owners. I have not heard about a recall from gm, even though gm has recalls for the same part on other models.

I have had the airbag light on for 2 years now. This is very dangerous and the fact gm is doing nothing to fix it is getting ridiculous as my safety is at stake. Action has to be taken ASAP!!! I am afraid of what might happen in case of an accident. The car is used as a pleasure vehicle making less then 1000 miles a year.

Passenger side airbag indicator does not detect person sitting in passenger seat. My guess is that it has a faulty sensor.

My passenger airbag light came on. When I took my vehicle to the dealer, I was told repairs were going to be close to $1,000. 00! while searching for information on this, I discovered hundreds of Saturn Sky and pontiac solstice owners having the exact same problem. If this is a defective piece, that involves passenger safety and lives, this needs to be addressed ASAP. Thank you.

Was just driving along with my wife and hit a small bump in the road and right after noticed that my service air bag light came on in the dash.

I just bought this Saturn and the next week the passenger air bag light came on. I have done research a lot of people with this issue have complained and it is expensive to repair. There are numerous reports of people with the passenger airbag and saying it should be recalled. I agree because there was no reason for it to need serviced yet.

My vehicle's air bag light came on and I had it inspected by keyes Chevrolet, a registered Saturn servicer. He informed me that the passenger side airbag module was faulty and it would be about 900-1000 dollars to fix it. They didn't print me the estimate or the part number. I went to an independent mechanic who said the part was indeed around 500 dollars, but the airbag sensor should not be faulty after only 62,000 miles. My extended service plan through Ford refuses to cover this extreme safety hazard. If anything ever happened to me or my passenger due to this issue I would absolutely file a lawsuit. This is not something I should have to pay nearly a thousand dollars to fix especially since I am going through a recall right now with the ignition- and they still do not have the parts in, may car could slip into drive or reverse while in park and they said it would take 2 months to get the recall parts in? this is all terrifying and unacceptable.

Passenger service air bag light come on. This car rarely has a passenger in the car and the car only has a little over 50,000 miles on it. I had to have the seat sensor repaired out of my own pocket even though this is a known problem with these cars (and others using the same sensor) and should be recalled for repair or reimbursement. Gm is apparently turning a deaf ear to the complaints with regards to this issue. This is a safety issue and I hope it doesn't take a death or serious injury because the system failed.

There are many, many incidences of this problem. The cost of repair is extremely high and the dealership we took it to said there was no recall for this part. This defective part should have a recall for the safety of all the owners and their passengers.
