Just driving out of parking lot and service airbag light illuminated. It appears as though a very significant number of other pontiac solstice and Saturn Sky owners share this problem and it is apparently a $1000 fix for a known design defect. This should be a recall.

Air bag light on passenger side has been on since 50,000 miles. Tested at dealer and it is the sensor system in the seat. To replace it it takes about 800 dollars.

Getting check airbag light. Appears issue with passenger side airbag sensor.

While driving . . . Noticed air bag indicator light on. . . . . . . Would not go off during anytime. . . . Took to dealership. . . They indicated this is a defect in the air bag system and should have been recalled. . . This is going tost a lot of money to fix.

The sensor in the passenger seat failed, giving an airbag warning indicator light. Nobody was in the seat and it was not being used at the time of the failure. This is the second 2007 gm vehicle I had that failed at around the 40,000 mile mark for the same part. The passenger seat sensor is defective. I've read about many Saturn Sky and pontiac solstice owners having the exact same problem. Dealer refuses to repair as vehicle is out of warranty by months, not miles.

The contact owns a 2007 Saturn Sky. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to singh Chevrolet where it was diagnosed that the air bag module was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 17v061000 (air bags). The parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Singh Chevrolet confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was notified. The contact was informed that reimbursement was on temporary hold because there was no permanent remedy. The manufacturer did not confirm when the parts would be available. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Service airbag light is on. This is a known problem with other Sky owners. I have not heard about a recall from gm, even though gm has recalls for the same part on other models.

I have had the airbag light on for 2 years now. This is very dangerous and the fact gm is doing nothing to fix it is getting ridiculous as my safety is at stake. Action has to be taken ASAP!!! I am afraid of what might happen in case of an accident. The car is used as a pleasure vehicle making less then 1000 miles a year.

I purchased a 2009 Saturn Sky from a gillman Chrysler/Jeep/ ram a houston dealership and the service air bag light was on when I test drove. I was told that this would be taken care of but as of now, it has not. I talked directly to Chevrolet but Chevrolet will not fix the problem even though this has occurred many times prior on the same car. This should obviously be a recall. Please don't wait for someone to die before you react.

The service air bag indicator came on for no apparent reason. Just driving down the road with my wife sitting in the passenger seat. Don't know for sure what it means but after visiting the dealer service center, I know I cannot afford the repair at this time. If gm can assure me that this is not a safety issue for my passenger then so be it. If gm cannot make this assurance, then gm needs to be recalling and repairing the safety equipment.

Service air bag light has come and and passenger side seat sensor is malfunctioning. This is an extreme concern to me because if the vehicle were to get in a wreck with a child in the passenger seat the air bag may deploy and fatally injure the young passenger. General motors needs to recall all Saturn Sky roadsters from years 2007-2010 as all model years are affected. This is not an isolated issue. This issue has occurred with many other vehicles as a small amount of research can indicate. Thank you!.

Passenger side airbag indicator does not detect person sitting in passenger seat. My guess is that it has a faulty sensor.

My passenger airbag light came on. When I took my vehicle to the dealer, I was told repairs were going to be close to $1,000. 00! while searching for information on this, I discovered hundreds of Saturn Sky and pontiac solstice owners having the exact same problem. If this is a defective piece, that involves passenger safety and lives, this needs to be addressed ASAP. Thank you.

Was just driving along with my wife and hit a small bump in the road and right after noticed that my service air bag light came on in the dash.

I just bought this Saturn and the next week the passenger air bag light came on. I have done research a lot of people with this issue have complained and it is expensive to repair. There are numerous reports of people with the passenger airbag and saying it should be recalled. I agree because there was no reason for it to need serviced yet.

My vehicle's air bag light came on and I had it inspected by keyes Chevrolet, a registered Saturn servicer. He informed me that the passenger side airbag module was faulty and it would be about 900-1000 dollars to fix it. They didn't print me the estimate or the part number. I went to an independent mechanic who said the part was indeed around 500 dollars, but the airbag sensor should not be faulty after only 62,000 miles. My extended service plan through Ford refuses to cover this extreme safety hazard. If anything ever happened to me or my passenger due to this issue I would absolutely file a lawsuit. This is not something I should have to pay nearly a thousand dollars to fix especially since I am going through a recall right now with the ignition- and they still do not have the parts in, may car could slip into drive or reverse while in park and they said it would take 2 months to get the recall parts in? this is all terrifying and unacceptable.

Service airbag light came on in vehicle. I took vehicle to dealer within 48 hours and they diagnosed it as a faulty passenger airbag sensor. I currently have no working airbags on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Passenger service air bag light come on. This car rarely has a passenger in the car and the car only has a little over 50,000 miles on it. I had to have the seat sensor repaired out of my own pocket even though this is a known problem with these cars (and others using the same sensor) and should be recalled for repair or reimbursement. Gm is apparently turning a deaf ear to the complaints with regards to this issue. This is a safety issue and I hope it doesn't take a death or serious injury because the system failed.

First incident happen when I arrived at work. I got into a parking place and shifted the car into park. Then went to shut off the car by turning the key. The key would not turn and so I could not turn my car off. I had to cut the car off by opening the hood and taking the fuel pump fuse out to shut it off. The key would turn to turn it off but not off. Took it to a gm dealership and got it replaced. Not cheap. No warranty. An inconvenience. Second incident happen as my girlfriend got into my 2009 Saturn Sky on the passenger side into the seat. The service airbag light glowed into the display and has been on since. Now when I have someone ride with me they will not have an airbag to keep them safe in the event of a crash etc. It cost way too much to get it repaired. I took it to the same gm dealer I did that fixed my key stuck in ignition for me and just for them to look at it'll cost $100 even if I know what has to be done. The seat will have to be taken apart and a new airbag sensor module will have to be installed. Total cost: $850-$1,100. And yet now recall. Gm needs to take responsibility for both these issues. They are both major safety issues. Airbag sensor module is made in germany but no more info. On them. All Saturn Sky owners have experienced this and even if we do spend the outrages amount of money to fix it both problems can and have happen again to Saturn Sky owners.

Passenger airbag light is on continuously. Dealer wanted $900+ to fix. They charges me $100+ just to diagnose it & tell me there was a problem in the airbag sensor. This should be considered a "safety issue" & should be fixed at the mfgs expense.

Saturan 2007 Sky airbag light came on about at 70,000 miles passenger side. A lot of Saturn Skys are having this problem and it needs attention immediately!!!!!!!.

Service air bag warning appeared on dash with no passenger in the vehicle while driving down the highway. The warning appears every time I start the car. When a passenger is in the vehicle the passenger air bag indicator always reads "off".

Replaced seat airbag module, replaced inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic cover and or pad front seat cushion, checked for wire chafing at kick panels, replaced module kit; told by dealership and engineers that vehicle was operating normally.
