Pps airbag system has failed after gm dealer installed a "support" over a year ago as a recall "fix" at the time of their repair the system was operating properly. . . Now they tell me they will not stand behind this. I was told that all parts of a recall should have been replaced at the time of the recall. . . . This has not happened and now I am afraid to drive my car with a passenger. Please help me. The recall on this item is #17v061000.

Passenger side seat air bag suppression module needs service. Dealership says that it will be $1200 for the repair, but I found a recall (17v061000) for the same problem, but when I enter my VIN, it doesn't say my vehicle was included. They said neither air bag will function if this service light comes on. This vehicle is stored all winter. When we uncovered it this spring, the light was on.

Tl- the contact owns a 2008 Saturn Sky. The contact stated after getting his vehicle remedied for a recall NHTSA campaign number: 17v061000 (air bags) back in October 2018 the failure reccured. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer automotive masters 3815 washington rd, augusta, GA 30907 for a diagnosis. The diagnosis was 2036 1063 pps assembly shorted internally. The manufacturer was made aware but stated the failure is outside of the 12 month warranty. The failure mileage was 70,000 tp.

Takata recall-I called my local dealership to have the recall repaired in may 2017. I was told the parts were in and was allowed to make an appointment. I took my vehicle in as scheduled, waited in the waiting room about 10-15 minutes to be told they "made a mistake" and the parts weren't available yet. I gave them my phone number for them to call when the parts were in and have not heard from them yet. Since then I have received 2 notices regarding the recall. I have called again (6 months later) and now they are saying the car was repaired. I was also told the recall was closed "manually. " the recall should not have been closed because repairs were not made to the vehicle. Again they are going to call me back. This has been a complete waste of my time because I have to take a day off work to get the issue resolved. The dealership in question is wakefield Buick GMC in spartanburg, SC.
