1 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2005 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 09/05/2011

I am recently having problems getting my 2005 Saturn Vue into 1st gear. Called a transmission company who looked it up and said there were a lot of complaints about this very issue, yet there is no recall for it. I only have 60,000 miles on my vehicle. The problem is that Saturn put in a rubber type shifting linkage.

2 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 08/20/2011

We purchased our 2003 Saturn new. The transmission was replaced right after we purchased it. We have had trouble with the car not wanting to get in to gear along with the ignition not turning on. The vehicle has been having trouble getting into gear for quite sometime. We had it services once with no transmission problems seen. We were told the ignition would cost us 600 plus to repair. It only has around 86000 miles on it and am very dissappointed to see all the reviews/complaints on this model. No one is being held accountable for their actions. My daughter was heading to college on Saturday, Aug 20, 2011. The day before she was leaving for a 2 hour trip, the car would not go in drive. We.

3 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 08/17/2011

I bought a 2003 Saturn Vue in 2008 with 120,000 miles on it. It had a 3 month power tam waruntee. 1 month after that expired the transmission went out. Furious, I called the Saturn dealership. They were amazing. They understood and put a new transmission in, paid for the towing and even reimbursed me for the rental car expense. The new transmission went out 3 years later, and I put less than 20,000 miles on it. I was denied any assistance from gm because of the mileage on the car. Mileage? I bought it used! now I am stuck with a car that is worth nothing but the spare parts?! there is a long hisytory of this model blowing out transmission and gm does nothing about it!? this is not an owner's problem, its a manufacturer problem and they offer 0 back for a trade in rebate?! this is impossible to believe and only further proves that the american auto indusrty cuts corners as well as scams its customers. This is a shameful company, and I hope this complaint is heard. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

4 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2006 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 08/11/2011

I am the owner of a 2006, 6 cylinder Saturn Vue. Jan 2011 I took my car to an authorized Saturn dealer. Lannan Chevrolet in lowell, MA because the coolant light was on. They did a diagnostic and said the collant had to be flushed, I got this done at the dealership. August 11, 2011 I was coming out of boston and at a few red lights the engine didn't seem to want to go. As I was exiting the tunnel going onto the zacome bridge my car just lost all power and died in the high speed lane, I was traveling about 60 miles per hour. I had to put on my hazzard lights and call 911. I was told to stay in my car and keep the lights on. People were beeping and I was scared I would die from being hit. The police officer arrived and told me I had to move the car from the speed lane to the right shoulder of the road. The car wouldn't move. He kept telling me shutit off and start it again, shut it off and start it again, after 5 attempts I was able to move the car to the right lane before it finally died. They could nto get the car on the flatbed because the ignition would nto turn. After several attempts the ignition turned and the car was towed to south boston stae police barracks. From there I had to get a tow to someplace locally as this was an emergency tow. I finally ahd the car towed to lannan Chevrolet in lowell where I was toldthe following day the transmission was gone. I called staurn customer service and filed a claim. The car has 53,076 miles on it and the transmission went without warning. The distrcit manager of lannan Chevrolet said "I must have abused the car and reved it" I was told she told the service manager daryl that she didn't want to hear anything else about my vehicle. Saturn customer service told me the claim would be escallaed to the "next level" and they never heard of any transmission problems. Upon looking up the vehicle on the web I have found thousands of complaints form Saturn owners concerning the transmission and a class action law suit. Gm???????.

5 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 07/19/2011

My wife & I brought a used 03 Saturn Vue with only 39,000 miles on Jun 20. Great condition until Jul 19, the car started acting strange. We took it to a mechanic and they though it may be the transmission to take it to a transmission specialist. We did & sure enough it is. We are on a tight budget and unable to even get another loan. We came across a website that the 03 Saturn Vue had a recall and a lawsuit. Why are these dealers still selling Saturns with a defective transmission? we made our 1st car payment on Jul 15 and now it is just sitting there. Any advice would be greatly appreciative!.

7 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE

We own a 2003 Saturn Vue that has 86,013 miles on it. We purchased the vehicle new at the local Saturn dealership. On may 31, 2011 while we were on the highway our car would not go over 10 mph. We took it into the dealership the next day and was told the vti transmission was out.

8 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 04/01/2011

2003 Saturn Vue cvt/vti transmission problems. Already "fixed" at a Saturn dealer 2 years ago after complete failure while driving on a curvy 55 mph country road. An accident was possible at that time and luckily I had a parking lot pull off to access. I am the original owner and was never notified of a highly apparent know defect. This Saturn was involved in an accident because the transmission once again failed without notice and only after a Saturn dealership "fixed" this problem 2 years prior and not many miles later. Luckily, I was returning home after returning my 7 year old daughter to her mother just ten minutes and 6 miles earlier. If she was in the back seat it is highly likely she would have been very seriously injured or dead. The passenger was injured and rushed to the hospital. I was banged up as the driver. This vti transmission is an epic failure! how many people need to lose their lives before something is done. I was completely unaware of the widespread problem until I did a little research on the internet. Beyond shocking, to say the least. I am contacting an attorney and inquiring about being stuck with this unsafe lemon. I have been refered by Saturn to a local gm dealer for service via mail, so I will start there. I am dismayed that there has been nothing done with this even after a class action suit was awarded which I was unaware of until tonight 4/6/11. Can you live with the guilt of knowing about an ongoing and evident problem and the lives that will likely be lost due to known problem. Why in the world has there not been a recall on this problem. Toyota has a few gas pedal issuses and bingo. I would rather be driving one of those after seeing and experiencing what I have recently. How many of these ticking time bombs are still out on the road. I see several almost daily. There is another form of a domestic terrorist and it is the poor unassuming Saturn drivers. This car fell shy of being a total. Insurance companies will have interest.

9 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 03/13/2011

We purchased a 2003 Saturn Vue from an individual on February 14, 2011. We had the car almost one month and we were out to eat on a Sunday in hendersonville TN when my husband goes to put our Vue into reverse to pull out of a stall and it would back up it just would not go forward. We thought maybe it was low on transmission fluid. We filled it with some and it still didnt move forward only reverse. Well we call for it to be towed to the nearest Saturn dealer in goodlettsville TN. Now gm is giving us the runaround about giving us any money at all on this vehicle. We further found out upon investigation on the internet that Saturn admitted there was troubles with the transmission but they were never made to recall these transmissions. Now as a consumer that makes me mad, we went on craigslist and there are a ton of these being sold right here in tennessee. More suckers that have no clue what they are getting into. What if my husband were to have been in rush hour traffic that day and a semi rammed into him because he could only go backwards???????? this is a safety issue!!!!!!! I am mad as a consumer and I dont want anyone else to go through this nightmare!.

14 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2004 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 11/18/2010

I own a 2004 Saturn Vue with 137,000 miles on it, the transmission has went out on it. I was told it would cost between $3,800 and $4,200 and they still could not guarantee to fix it. I notice the numerous complaints on the Saturn Vue and decided to voice mine also. Mainly, because I notice that the 2004 Saturn Vue is still being sold by dealers when they know of the transmission problems with this vehicle. I am one of the ones that is having to let my vehicle be reposessed due to lack of funds to get the vehicle fixed. I brought my car new and never received any information on a recall. Saturn (or dealers selling this vehicle) knowing of this problem should be made to recompense people for their expenses. I am having to depend on friends/family to get around. With all these complaints something should have been done about this by now!.

18 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 09/10/2010

We have a 2003 Saturn Vue and it only has 43,000 miles on it and the second transmission has now gone out. Three years ago we had a new transmission put in and now for a second time it has broke. We had warranty on it and they replaced the first one and also had purchased the extended warranty, but now that Saturn is not in business they will not honor our warranty. We cannot afford a second transmission and we need this vehicle really bad as we have no other transportation for our children. We have read so many reviews on this that from 2003-2005 the Saturn Vue transmission continue to break. What do we do now since our warranty is not valid and we can't afford to have it fixed. It's not fair at all.

19 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2005 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 08/17/2010

My transmission in my 2005 Saturn Vue has failed. I was in traffic and the car just stopped as I pressed the gas pedal the engine just revved and the car took a few secs to engage. I have 65,001 miles on the vehicle and I have not had any luck in finding the transmission to fit this vehicle.

The failure and current mileages were 105,000.

22 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 06/01/2010

Since we purchased the vehicle (2003 Saturn Vue) it has had one problem after another. I called gm and asked for their assistance in the matter and was told that because I bought the car used and it was not a gm certified auto center they were unable to extend any type of service. The SUV loses power, begins to "putt" when it reaches a half of a tank gasoline. When in idle the engine shakes. Going on a camping trip in the mountains this became a real problem. The car did not want to climb the hills, some times mountains. The terrain was scary enough on its own (cliffs off to the side) and needed no help from the SUV not wanting to drive like it was supposed too. We have had the vehicle looked at several times and have also attempted to contact gm. Gm told us that because the car is outside of the 8 year or 100,000 mile range there is nothing they can do to assist us. That being said. I have taken it to two gm certified mechanics whom tell me that it is two separate things that need to be fixed. As seen online we are not the only ones this has happened too. I really hope that someone does something about this. Many americans are feeling the financial pull with out gm screwing us, I really don't need to be treated like this.

23 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 05/22/2010

The contact owns a 2003 Saturn Vue. The contact stated that the vehicle would not move forward or in reverse. The vehicle was parked and left idle for several days before becoming responsive yet, the failure recurred intermittently and became progressively worse. In addition, there were gasoline fumes entering into the interior cabin of the vehicle and the contact had to drive with the windows open to avoid becoming sick. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who advised that the transmission needed to be replaced. The dealer informed her that even if the transmission was replaced, the failure could possibly recur. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact called the manufacturer who verified the dealers advice. The current mileage was approximately 100,000 and the failure mileage was approximately 87,000.

24 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 05/17/2010

2003 Saturn Vue 117,000 miles transmission went out while driving on busy street no warning. Called gm found out about a "bulletin" they had in place on my Saturn Vue 100,000 miles or 8yrs old and they would replace transmission for half the cost which is 7,000 dollars!!!!! I tried to get a few estimates but nobody but the dealer wanted to even mess with this type of transmission? don't know what to do ? this needs to be a recall very dangerous to people like me who just bought the car not knowing about the faulty transmissions in these cars. Please make gm accountable.

25 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2002 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 05/06/2010

I'm the original owner of a 2002 Saturn Vue awd with the gm vti transmission and engine. Two days ago I experienced my transmission/engine failing for the fifth or sixth time since 2006. The very first time I took my Vue to the dealership in austin, TX where I had to argue with first my service rep. Followed by his manager that the problem was with the transmission. Since the faulty gm design was still relatively new, they originally blamed me for poor driving, resulting a bad bcm which they made me pay in spite of my argument the faulty gm design was the origin of the problem. First time it cost me $1500 to repair my car that had less than 60,000 miles on it. This however was quite an ordeal since my vehicle actually lost power on three or four different occasions. I would immediately go to the dealership for assistance with what I knew was the transmission. After bugging them almost everyday with the same problem they finally admitted gms transmission problems and replaced my transmission on the third visit. The second transmission lasted approximately a year. In 2007 I had relocated within the state and was experiencing similar problems and reluctantly called my local Saturn dealership. Here we go again another $500 for odds and ends and this time it was supposedly the ecm and of course it did not fix the problem! the transmission was finally replaced on my third trip! however they did not pay for my loaner car though I requested one. Brings us to 2009, when the above mentioned dealer had gone out of business and I of course had transmission problems! luckily I found a dealership near and had my car towed to them. They confirmed by that afternoon that the transmission was bad! they replaced the transmission, and closed for business within three days. No loaner car again. Here I sit again with the transmission dangerously going out, and dreading the thought of the Saturn dealership fiascoes. At what point will gm take these dangerous 2002-2005 cars off the road?.

27 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 04/29/2010

2003 Saturn Vue. Transmission went out with no warning. Coming off of a bridge to a busy intersection and the transmission went out. I was able to get the vehicle to the side of the road without an accident. A lot of semi's travel this road and an accident could have easily happened.

28 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2004 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 04/14/2010

The contact owns a 2004 Saturn Vue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle "pushed back" and slowed down when she attempted to accelerate. She also noticed that the check engine light remained illuminated. She drove on to the emergency lane and had the vehicle towed to her home. She called the manufacturer and was informed of a current lawsuit regarding the vti transmission and was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The vehicle had not been repaired when the complaint was filed. The current mileage was 42,623. The failure mileage was approximately 42,615.

29 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2004 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 04/12/2010

I own a 2004 Saturn Vue with a variable transmission. It has 83,000 miles. I took it to the dealership to be looked at because of hearing all the transmission problems these cars have had. Somehow while they were looking at it the transmission went and I couldn't drive my car over 20 mph. I was stuck there at the dealership and told I had to get a new transmission. Saturn will only pay for half so now after paying over $20,000 for this car I have to pay another $3,000 to get a new transmission. I was told then that the new transmission might have the same problems this one has had. This is unacceptable that they don't stand by their products and will not cover the whole replacement of something they know to be faulty.

30 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 04/05/2010

Vti transmission in 2003 Saturn Vue went out, stranding me on the side of the road in an unsafe area. This is a known problem with Saturn Vues and ions, but no recall has been issued. Gm needs to be held accountable for this and recall all of the effected vehicles. I was told that because my vehicle is past the date, even though my mileage is only 62,000 (well below the 75,000 that gm is supposed to cover under the extended warranty), I would have to pay half, which is $2,500. I should not have to pay a single penny for this new transmission.

31 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 03/12/2010

My 2003 Saturn Vue with vti transmission broke down on 3/12/10. Car was towed and is at dealership awaiting a new transmission. This should be a recall and paid for by gm, instead, I have to pay $2,500 (half the cost) which I cannot afford!! the transmission is a factory defect and isn't at the recall stage yet as I was told gm has to have a certain number of complaints before it turns into a recall. Please add my complaint to the list and hopefully the faulty transmissions will be recalled and we will be reimbursed. Thank you.

32 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2004 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 03/05/2010

2004 Saturn Vue. Transmission gone, over 5 grand to fix due to there being problems with the Vues, junk yards do not carry them. It was apparently a known defect yet they sold it to me. I still owe 110000 on the car and I cant drive nor do I have the cash to fix. With the dealerships gone I can't even take the piece of junk back to them. I found out that most shops do not work on these (3 of the 4 I called) due to the fact that even with a rebuilt one, you are still putting in a transmission that is faulty and they can't guarantee them. Since I now need another vehicle, this heap will certainly be repossessed.

33 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2004 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 02/23/2010

I bought a 2004 Saturn Vue 4 months ago. I also bought a extended warranty thro wyns. My transmission has now gone out. I have 100,260 miles on it. The warranty was for 100,000. Saturn says I am out of the warranty coverage but wyns will cover the cost of the transmission minus my $100 CO pay. They however will not cover it until Saturn faxes them the bulletin on this transmission problem. Saturn called me back and said that they will not fax this information to wyns and will not mail me the warranty information to me. Saturn stated to me if I took it to another repair facility that they would loose out on the money of repairing my transmission. So now I cant get my extended warranty company to fix it because they have no proof that the warranty is no good at my mileage. I bought the vehicle at west 40 auto sales who did not tell me about any problems or bulletins on this vehicle.

34 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2003 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 02/05/2010

My car 2003 Saturn Vue (vti transmission) just stalled on the highway without warning has 113,000 miles on it, 2 months before that I received a letter from Saturn stating they were having problems, or something like that. I still have that letter. I paid $10,000. 00 for the car, and still owe $7,000. 00 and the car is useless to me now, I still owe on the loan, cannot get another one, live pay check to paycheck. . Need the car for my job, on and on. . . . . . . . . It is sitting at a gm bergstrom lot right now, and they are giving me the run around. 1st he said he'd do everything he could to help me, and the next day he said I have very bad news, I can't do anything!! the director called with the same answer. . My car has been sitting at nordstroms in oshkosh, WI. For a couple of days now, I found this e-mail address of yours, on an e-mail of another unhappy customer of 2003 Saturn Vue transmission. It broke down I said I guess it is quite useless talking any more to Saturn or gm.

35 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2004 Saturn VUE

Failure Date: 02/02/2010

While driving my kids to school on the highway, my 2004 Saturn Vue started to slow down in traffic. My car completely stopped and would not go forward. All the cars behind me had to swerve around me quickly as not to hit us. A cop and another car stopped to physically push my car to the side of the road. The police officer then had to push my car to an auto repair shop off the highway. They told me that my transmission was gone. After the auto repair charged me for a diagnostic, I was told that my transmission has to be repaired and that gm has had issues with these engines. . I cant understand how Toyota can issue a recall, but gm can't. Will it take someone "important" to get killed in one of gm's cars before our government does anything for the common people?.
