Instrument Panel Problems of Saturn VUE

The contact owns a 2003 Saturn Vue. While the contact started the ignition, the entire instrument panel illuminated with the flickering of four automatic door locks. In addition, the front and rear windshield wipers began to operate. The failures recurred intermittently whether the vehicle was in motion or not. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 153,000.

My 2008 Saturn Vue xr has had numerous issues with the instrument panel. In may 2010, the entire instrument panel (speedometer, rpm, odometer, radio, etc. ) went out while I was driving down the road. I took it to the dealership where they replaced a computer component in the instrument panel. Now in July 2010 (2 months later) I was driving down the road and looked at my speedometer which said I was going 80 mph. I was clearly not going 80 mph, so right away I knew something was wrong. I stopped the car and even when the car was completely stopped the speedomter read 30 mph. It even stayed on 30 mph when I turned the car off. I took the car back to the dealership and am being told that they need to replace the exact same part that they just replaced two months ago. Clearly this part is faulty and it is a definite safety concern when you are driving down the road and are unable to tell how fast you are going. I have seen other complaints on this website regarding a similiar issue.

The contact owns a 2003 Saturn Vue. While driving various speeds, all of the instrument panel gauges and daytime running lamps fail; however, the engine continues to operate. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop and the technician stated that the master control panel was failing. The vehicle is in the process of being repaired; however, the part is currently on backorder with the manufacturer. The manufacturer will be notified. The vehicle is currently not being driven. The contact owns a 2006 Saturn Vue. The contact stated that the fuses that regulate the tail lights and instrument panel constantly blow out. The failure has occurred five times. He has not taken the vehicle to the dealer. The current and failure mileages were 25,000.

While driving our 2008 Saturn Vue all the instrument panel monitors disappeared - didn't know what gear, speed or gas gauge etc. Took it in to the dealers' where they figured it was the computer- as they could not reset it. After many days, this was not the problem so they put the original one back in. After talking to several friends who had a similar problem with a 2008 chevy blazer, they discovered that it was fluid in the throttle box -when we mentioned this to the service manager, the problem was quickly resolved! another time the engine light came on - we discovered that the problem was simply that the gas cap has not been replaced properly. Seems it is very sensitive.

The contact owns a 2006 Saturn Vue. While driving 40 mph, the contact slammed on the brakes and struck a dog. The front fender and bumper were damaged. The contact was not injured. The fog lights were detached from the vehicle and the air bag warning indicator illuminated on the instrument panel. The air bags failed to deploy. The dealer stated that the air bags did not deploy because the seat heater circuit was connected to the air bag sensor. Repairs could not be made to the air bag or air bag sensor because the element burned out. The failure and current mileages were less than 50,000.

The vehicle lost total electrical power. She contacted a professional mechanic and was informed that the bcm was the cause of the failure. Currently, all the instrument panel gauges are inoperative. She is in the process of having the vehicle inspected. The contact filed a complaint with the manufacturer. The failure and current mileages were 109,000.

Upon filling my gas tank the check engine lights come on and stays on--sometimes till the tank is half empty--sometimes coming on when the tank reaches half.

During day light hours I was driving on interstate 10 back to pensacola. I manually turned the light switch for the headlights on. I drove my 2006 Saturn Vue for about one hour as I was pulling into a rest area I reached to turn the lights off and I discovered that the light switch handle was to hot to touch. I feel that this switch is somehow shorted internally. This extreme heat could cause a fire in the passenger compartment. I spoke with a Saturn dealer and the service manager stated that Saturn had no other complaints on this condition. He would not check out my complaint. Most people owning this car would not know about this problem because the light usually turns on automatically when it turns dark outside.

The contact owns a 2008 Saturn Vue. When the instrument panel light switch is in the automatic position, the instrument panel does not illuminate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that nothing could be done. The current mileage was 640 and failure mileage was 18. Updated 12/12/07.

The contact owns a 2004 Saturn Vue. The contact stated that the instrument panel gauges, especially the odometer, were inoperative and displayed inaccurate readings. She took the vehicle to the dealer and was informed that it would cost $700 to inspect the vehicle and reset the odometer. She has not had the vehicle repaired because the remedy would only be temporary. The odometer currently displays that the vehicle has 70,000 miles, but it really has 45,000 miles. The contact is in the process of notifying the manufacturer. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 45,000.

Approximately one week later she experienced the same problem. While driving 40 mph she experienced the same problem. The dealer inspected the vehicle but was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact stated that the problem has occurred on numerous occasions. As of 06-05-07, the dealer has been unable to determine the cause. The failure mileage was 6,500 and the current mileage was 33,344.
